So cute! Love seeing these door hangers with flowers! Would love to see fall and Halloween stuff with your pics you make!
You must be able to read my mind...I've got a video coming out tonight at 7pm eastern showing how to use the free Halloween printables. Make sure to check it out! Thanks for stopping by and saying hi!! :)
So pretty - I learned a lot! I wonder whether you'd like to use a cable tie gun to cinch up and cut your zip ties at the last step. If you haven't used one, it's a simple tool that you slide over the tail of the zip tie, then it tightens the zip tie and trims it flat against the square piece - quick and simple, as easy to use as a pair of pliers.
It also occurred to me that you could drill a pair of small holes in your round door hanger, one above the other and about half an inch apart. Then when you put on the last zip tie to fasten the bow and greenery together, it could also go through these holes to attach everything to the door hanger. This would have the advantage of being easy to change for different seasons - just cut the zip tie at the back of the board to take it off.
That's a great idea! I didn't even know that a tool like that existed. :)
Thanks for sharing. I've been having a hard time making these as pretty as everyone else 💙
You're welcome! Happy to help!! And you can do it!! It takes some practice. My first bows were not pretty. :)
Great tutorial! Thank you!
You are so very welcome. Thanks for stopping by.
Great video...thanks for sharing!!!
I'm so glad it was helpful! I appreciate you stopping by and saying hi! More to come!! xoxo
Absolutely gorgeous!!! 🤍🤍🤍
Thank you! 🤗 I appreciate that, Melissa! Let me know what else you'd like to see here. xoxo
My door hanger was gifted to me and it had holes drilled on both sides and then bow and greenery has a pipe cleaner threaded on the under side. You then thread the pipe cleaners through the holes on the door hanger and twist the ends together to place the bow on to the door hanger. I love it because I can change it out seasonally instead of committing to one look.
If I made this bow is there a way to loop a pipe cleaner through the backside so I can attach this bow to my current door hanger?
I love the look and style of this bow and round like to make my own.
My aunt who made the door hanger and all of the bows has Parkinson disease and can no longer get create as she used to. 😢
I’m sorry about your aunt. I have made interchangeable bows similar to what you’re describing. For this you’d need to make the bow and greenery one piece and attach pipe cleaners in the process. You’d need to consider how to support the weight of the greenery so that it doesn’t sag. 😀
Very helpful! Thank you!!
So glad it was helpful. Happy to have you here!!
Oh man I love your work!
I appreciate that more than you know. I designed this sign myself and it's so beautiful on a front door.
Thank you for this video! Love it! Can you tell me where did you buy the staple gun?
That's a vintage staple gun - it was my husband's grandmother's if you can believe that! I use 1/4" staples - there's a similar staple gun in my Amazon store under crafting supplies that also uses 1/4" staples. Link is in the description. :)
What size is your ribbon? Love this! Thank you for the tutorial.
Hi Michelle - that's 2 1/2 inch ribbon. You're welcome - and thank you for stopping by. xoxo - Amy
I absolutely LOVE your work and this bow is gorgeous . Do you mind sharing where you got those specific ribbons from?
Ah, thanks!! I'm blushing. :) The ribbons are straight from Hobby Lobby! :) 2.5" wired ribbon. Go when it's on sale. I always make the mistake of not paying attention, then I run out and have to pay full price. :)
Great tutorial. I love your greenery, and j agree. I have a hard time finding greenery that doesn't look fake. Where did you get yours?
Wal-Mart!!! It's amazing. I use the lambs ear and the boxwood.
@@AmyandArtDesigns thank you so much! I never thought to look at Walmart!
Beautiful! Where do you get the greenery?
Can you believe that the greenery came from WalMart?
What was the name of the bow jig you used?
Hi Danielle! Do you mean the bow maker? If so, t's linked in my Amazon store in the description under crafting supplies. :)
How thick is the door hanger?
These are 1/4 inch plywood.
How much ribbon did you use?
Sorry foe the delayed response. We were sick over the holiday. I use about 44" of each ribbon for this bow.
