    The problem with the reduced top speed of the K01+ relative to the original K01 is that you significantly increase the likelihood of the K01+’s version of the Onewheel nosedive. When you take the K01+ near it’s limits, like the Onewheel, it pushes back and straightens up. If you push the K01+ past it’s limits, again like the Onewheel, rather than slowing down, it simply shuts off the drive motor and unceremoniously dumps you on your face. And because of the stem, it is that much harder to run it out.
    This is particularly a problem on hills, where the angle of the terrain tricks your body into thinking you are upright, but relative to the wheel you are actually leaning quite far forward.
    So you can be dumped onto your face at MUCH lower speeds.
    (Not that I know this from personal experience or anything…!)

    I'm amazed that Kiwano is still a thing, I thought that after the first few months they'd just disappear.
    It certainly takes less time to learn than an EUC and it's fairly portable
    As far as Support, i think that's something that you need a local dealer for.
    Personally, I've never sent my GotWay MSuper V3+ back to the manf, just had it repaired by the dealer.

    There are so many interesting self balancing scooters sold from out of China that simply don't get any media/reviews until some reseller imports them, triples the price and starts the marketing process. I'm really interested in these scooters and want to see more reviews of them BUT I will never pay the outrageous prices the importers are trying to get for tech they didn't even create. I'm perfectly willing to pay a markup to a reseller but I'm no sucker. Anyway, I'd love to see more reviews of these interesting self balancing machines.

      I got mine on auction on eBay of course, it is discontinued and that's a bummer, but I only paid about 300 bucks shipping and everything all included. Totally worth it for what people are calling a really expensive cool looking toy. I haven't written it yet and I'm dreading the whole nosedive concept that's freaking me out but I think it'll be fun to learn to ride and then I can gift it forward

    Good review of a very high quality product. It is really well built!
    But: Can you confirm that the Ko1+ actually goes 20 km/h?
    I recently purchased an unused second hand Ko1 and it seems to be electronically restricted to ca 10 km.
    Any tips on how to unlock it?

    Interesting device for sure. Looks like what you would get if you mate a pogo stick to an electric unicycle. The disadvantages are you can't really jump that high on it and you can't go that fast - so what are the advantages? I think it might be more appealing if you ripped the stem & handle off and rode it like an electric unicycle.

    • @xotzinome
      @xotzinome Před 2 lety

      Since the battery and all of the controls are in the "stem" that would make it into a doorstop. A really expensive one at that

  • @PaulAndHarris
    @PaulAndHarris Před 5 lety +1

    GREAT VIDEO! Question: Which would you recommend: electric unicycle, 2 wheeled scooter, or 1 wheeled scooter?
    - I like the idea of the EUC best since it can be ridden hands free and has the smallest footprint, but then there is the higher learning curve and highest risk of injury.
    - The 2 wheeled scooter seems easiest to ride, easiest to learn, and lowest risk of injury, but high footprint and requires 2 hands.
    - The 1 wheel scooter is in the middle, with small footprint, medium learning curve, BUT still requires 2 hands.
    Which would you recommend Micah? OR a different question: if you had the choice between all 3 (equivalent range, speed, and price), which would YOU choose and why?

    • @daggyag9613
      @daggyag9613 Před 5 lety +3

      Always try to learn something new and challenging, hence the 1 wheel euc, look ma no hands 👐 This way, u got a new found skill and can now ride all types. Don't worry about falling down, wear protection if you know ur gonna fall and ride safely. For cheaper price, u can just buy a good 1w euc or a 2nd hand one and start practicing. It only takes a few hours to learn but it's so worth it.

      @@PaulAndHarris yes EUC aren't cheap but if you compare this 1W2handedEUC to a 1WNo handed EUC, I rather you learn the latter because while it is not easy to ride it in the beginning,
      1. Footprint is much smaller
      2. More agile
      3. Much faster in speed and much farther in range
      4. More mobile, maybe not as portable But, most of them comes with a handle.
      You get what you pay for and it is really a good value. You don't want to be going 15mph trust me lol and running for 25mins on a 1W2HEUC.
      Do your research and you will find a whole 1wEUC community forum then decide. If u r like me, invest in a good one and start learning to ride becos this is gonna be your go to for a long time to come. Or hopefully find a good and cheap. 2nd hand one. Here in Singapore, 2nd hand ones are cheap
      Whatever your decision is, I wish you good luck and ride safely buddy!

    I see kids on this going in.excess of 15 mph on these. My ebike goes 20 but decreases as a safety measure. These guys pass me. I'm about as 1 with my bikes as you can get but looking at the bushes to the side of me, if I got dismounted, it would be quite injurious. I don't see why these guys risk it going speeds where they can't readily stop or move if someone darts I'm front of them looking out for something larger like a car or bike & not expecting someone in a standing stance to be on them in just 2 seconds. With a bike, I can jump down from my seat and have 2 legs plus 2 wheels to balance. I'm not sure how these scooters would allow you to dismount in an Emergency..Seems cool enough. I would just move cautiously and as you alluded to just an extension of my body so like running, but not running out of control fast.

    My first real unicycle!(first one was a cheap plastic one as a kid czcams.com/users/postUgkx4e2fa6x27dF7shCelntq0ZIKt4N0jELI I never learned to ride)So, this is a true learner, and for a C note, exactly what was needed. After a few weeks, I'm able to easily ride up and down the street. The Good: Solid frame. Has absorbed numerous spills through learning and still solid. Look - great looks, after 6 weeks of bashing Weight - it's really all tire, but as I fall I can easily grab the seat so it doesn't slam the ground. Size - Very adjustable. I'm 6', 33" inseam. I put it mostly up, but could go a bit higher if I needed to. The Bad: Not sure if it's out of the norm, but seat got scraped up quickly. Pedals - they are a bit uncomfortable and I can't get the right feel on my feet. But, they are solid and haven't been damaged at all as I've seen in reviews on other cycle's.- To address one comment about the seat connection not straight. Huh? Seat is on a round pole, you just turn it and it's straight. Either of the bad I expected to replace once I improved. I'd recommend to anyone else in the learning phase.
