Seal in the pump is bad. Take the pump off and replace seal. What happens is the seal goes bad and leaks the hydraulic oil in the crankcase. I'd replace the oil with regular 30w oil in both engine and hydraulics.
I have a 1951 price list. The seats may be either Jute upholstered or deluxe foam upholstered. The Deluxe foam was standard, and the Jute upholstered seats reduced the price tag.
I prefer the cartridge type filters, actually. I miss OEM tractor parts. The front hubs and riveted lugs on the rims are better. The late standards also used those, not for adjustment, but because they do not slip. I will check, but I think our 1948 C has the riveted lugs rather than clamps on the front, too.
I was given a 1949 Farmall C. Sat in a Barn for over 15 years. It starts and runs but needs a new carb and leaks everyware. I live in Halafax County NC. Do you know a good tractor man in my area that could put in new seals?
Yeah if they could make it where the canister could fit over the spin on filter that would be ok. But I prefer the look of the canister type but like the spin on filters for being easy.
Great videos. Keep them coming. I have collected farm toys for years and recently moved up to real tractors. I have a cub with a blade also an H. Where is a good place to look for parts & equipment?
I would like to find a Super C to add to my IH collection someday
Getting hydraulic oil in crankcase, any comments?

1952jeep sent me over about a year ago and I'm just now learning about the "C"s so this series will help a lot. I really enjoy the old iron.
Thanks

That sounds like a million dollar idea if I ever heard one!
