That's the trouble with this world, Nobody wants to go through all that riggamarrow any more, but back in my day my Dad was the riggamorrow king!
I agree my dad was a farmer with grandpa then in the Army, then a shop mechanic in a textile mill. I was amazed when I went to high school with town kids and their dads paid people to work around their houses.
The manure spreader looks great. Being a former hog farmer I can appreciate the effort put into your work. Very nice job.
Thank you so very much again ✝️ 💖.
The point of "just a manure spreader" is certainly accurate, and you cannot make a case that they add any functionality, but the decals really make the spreader look right and good! Very nice touch as usual.
Where’ve you been I hope everything is okay
Hi Joel, I think you are asking about my CZcams channel disappearing. I was hijacked and my entire google account was stolen and erased. I am tempted to re-establish my content because I considered it to be instructive, but the loss was a serious kick in the butt. Do you have an opinion
I love how you keep old farm equipment running and functional. Very enjoyable video.
I do the same thing with cars. My 2 are a 2002 and a 2005. My comments to anyone who asks why I keep repairing an old vehicle run along the lines of the repair is cheaper than one payment on a new car. Usually a repair lasts 6 months or more. Win.
For the record, I really enjoy watching you rebuilding and repairing your farm equipment and tractors. I guess maybe because it reminds me of my father, who was never afraid or timid to tackle any repair job around our house or on his cars. Thank you for your channel, I enjoy it very much regardless of the task!
Same
I figure it this way. If something is not working or broken, I might repair it. What is the worse I could do if it is already broken? Make it *broker?*
😂
Wow Pete, farmers are really "a jack of all trades". Mechanic, engineer, painter and so on. Your skills are amazing, and I enjoy watching and listening to you explain how each task is accomplished. Thanks!
Thank you for taking the time to tell about how the hydraulic system works. I also appreciate you taking us along for the joy ride.
We tried your steaks a couple nights ago, just the steaks, no sides, they were humongous!! Honestly one of the best sirloin steaks I’ve ever had. Probably would have been way better on charcoal. Thank you Pete for feeding our family food for the soul, you can taste the care you put into your animals
Thank you.
I would Never get that pump back together! At 71, I still pray for Patience
That is amazing that Super C always starts first hit engine sounds brand new looks great long may it live well done Pete . A collection to be Proud of .
Cranks and starts way better than my JD RSX850i!
Pete, thanks for being able to look over your shoulder. Your professional, patient, and detailed approach to these very difficult tasks is an inspiration.
Man that super C sounds great !!!
Surprising how well it runs, has no trouble in road gear.
So nice to see a Farmall going down the road without having to move the steering wheel hardly at all !!!
Spreader turned out much better than most would expect. As much as you use it in the spring, this year should be trouble free, & operate like new.
Going to be hard for me to watch that first bucket go in there, BUT …. You bought it to use……
Quick power wash & good as ever.
Congrats on getting the pump repaired, getting parts seems to always be a frustration at times.
No the soapy water help you slide the deca\l into the correct place before you squeege then i used to put 6ftx8ft decals on years ago on corrogated truck sides same method
Pete, I think that you were always meant to be a farmer. Farmers are so resourceful, and you are certainly that! I really enjoy my time with you.
Thanks for taking the time to put out another great video! Spreader looks amazing. Always enjoy the rebuilds…great background in the IH pumps. Looking forward to the big project!
Hi Pete I believe the pre wetting does not activate the adhesive rather it just makes them easier to position. This stops the non intended sticking during placement. Hi from Australia.
Well I wish they had said I had that option in the instructions. I prefer to put them on dry if I have the option. I'm contacting the Bulgarian Embassy to lodge a complaint.
@JustaFewAcresFarm you've got a straighter eye than I do then! Every time I put decals on I end up adjusting - but I'm cheap and use mylar backed so can slide around like these ones do.
@@JustaFewAcresFarm that’s the way don’t let them get away with this waste of 3 drops of detergent. By the way my wife told me to see she likes Billy the pigs. He has human eyes 😂. Have a great Xmas.
Although I do enjoy the cutting and baling hay and the livestock videos. I must say I REALLY enjoy watching you working on your machinery and explaining while you work. It inspires me to attempt projects I didn't think I could do and/or even want to do. Thanks Pete.
@29:56 Patty is on her game! Ready to complain as soon as Pete turns off that tractor! Pete ...Patty wants new grass to eat...LOL
Very happy to hear that there is an upcoming restoration.
Driving your super C brings back memories of driving my grandfather’s 230.
I do enjoy all of your videos. These R and R videos remind me of time spent watching my Dad. Like you Pete he was able to fix practically anything and encouraged his 3 daughters to help. I enjoyed the time spent with him. He’s gone now but these are great memories. Thank you for the wonderful videos.
Can't wait for your restoration.
That's what I love about Pete's channel, he rebuilds & repaints the equipment we all got to see prior to it's beautiful makeover. It's going to be very fun to see the tractor & newly painted spreader in the field.
Good morning it the Nov 28 in Kitchener Ont Canada and have the first snow .Sit that 9 f outside I hope you with have a good day .Just to tell that mom get up to see you a little 89 year old. Thank you for all the happy you do for her.
Hi Stephen, good day to you and your Mom.
Thank you for putting on the New Holland decals Pete. It looks like Beautiful craftsmanship and farm artwork. Be very proud of your great work!
My 4 year old son was so excited to see your new video this morning. He loves watching you fix the tractors. One of his favs is watching you plow snow with the tractor. He wants one himself. 😆 great video as always, love how the manure spreader turned out! Always fun to watch “farm show” as my son says. 😊 God bless
You did an excellent job on your manure spreader. I bet it feels good to have your machinery working well and looking good. Your instructions re decals installation are so helpful for anyone who is doing such stuff. That is why your channel, no matter what anybody might say to the contrary (jealous people), is as much a public service as it is very enjoyable. Thank you. Marcel from Saskatchewan.
Like the “broken window theory”, a job isn’t complete until it has the correct ambiance!
A little bit of love and some elbow grease is all it takes! Oh. Let’s not forget the hours of research put in to figure it all out. Amazing job on both the spreader and the super c. The lesson is it doesn’t have to be perfect, I think!
Right! "Good enough" is often more suitable than "perfect."
Great Job Mr. Pete! youv'e just trippled the value and life of that M spreader. Nice job!!
The super C pump rebuild and discussion of parts availability is such a wonderful learning lesson for all of us to learn from. The journey is bitter sweet.
A brilliant job with the manure spreader 😉. Will be a shame to see it get filthy again😢. But as you said it is only a speader 👍. Great videos keep it up😀. From the uk.
Pete you are the Farmall tractor whisperer.Love watching you work .
Peter you are a good mechanic, I really enjoy you tractor videos just us much as I enjoy the farming email. I am restoring a 1960 and a 1971 Volvo your videos are such .inspiration. Thank you.
Hey Pete, it's getting cold here in Wisconsin as well. 5 degrees right now. No heat in my shop so I'll wait for the sun to warm things up. Rebuilding old equipment with the intent of them going back to work can be quite the challenge. I'm so disappointed with the remanufactured and after market parts I've been buying. It seems many of them are just supposed to be bolted on and not actually worked. My most recent project has been the worst. Two radiators, two water pumps, three fuel pumps, two carburetors and valve lifters that go flat when sitting overnight. Doing something the first time is satisfying. The second, not so much. My next big hurdle is that the last real parts guy is retiring first of the year. The rest are nice fellows but can only follow the computer prompts. I'm not ready to go the way of the dinosaurs so I'll just continue on having fun getting greasy! Thanks for all the real world videos.
You really did an awesome job completing all your fall projects!
That manure spreader 👀 looks better than new I always like the look 👀 of those old farmalls with that bright red paint along with the new Holland equipment that bright snow with a full moon at night it that red paint really stands out really enjoy watching you bring that old rusty stuff back looking 👀 like new again thanks for taking us viewers along
I love the way the C123 sounds without a muffler. It’s like a WW2 airplane to me. I am in the process of restoring my dad’s super c and I think I am going to straight pipe it.
i know the Bible says not to be envious but i absolutely love all those tractors you have !!! great video Pete
The “Just a manure” spreader looks really good. It’s the small details.
No better picture than all that red power sitting together in the shed. 👍
Between your farming style and how it looks, and the restorations, Pete man you are my hero!!
I must say that was very kind of Sophie to send you those tractor parts all the way from Bulgaria.
Appreciate your repair and rebuild series. Sets you apart from other U Tube farming channels.
Nothing better than these videos! Done with humility and so great at sharing knowledge.
I remember that method for decals from a long time ago. Still looks nice.
You should add a "The Circle Of Life" sticker on the manure spreader somewhere.
Well Pete I am glad you might have your pig problem fixed I love watching them little buggers grow. I love watching your channel your animals are great. Thanks
Be out in Ithaca tomorrow bringing dog to vet office across from Triphammer Mall tomorrow, I will have to go into town and get something to eat and do a little shopping as I will have to wait for the dog to wake up from treatment.
It's really grand that i knew we would go for a joy ride well before we went. LOL
Great job Pete, that shit slinger sure looks Purdy. Wasn't sure about those 50 yr. old square O'rings, but fantastic recovery. Looking forward to the shop rebuild.👍👍💚
Pete will likely restore the CUB next. It's the only tractor on the channel he hasn't touched mechanically. If you're considering restoring one of the 56-series tractors, Pete, attempting that in a shop as small as yours would be crazy.
You always do a very nice job with your projects! I really like how you explain things as you are working. Thank you for sharing it with us Pete!
I agree 100%
Now you are ready for the big race, oh wait a minute this is just a poop thrower.
I'm not a mechanic, but I enjoy all your videos, your a handy guy to have around,, architecture, carpenter, mechanic, and farmer, be well,
Reminds me of putting decales on my model cars, planes, boats, pinewood derby cars.
The good ole days, late 60s early 70s;time to get out the glue and ester paints🤗 thanks!
Cliff hanger. That was great. Pete nice to see how you solve problems with parts. I'm sure it will help someone out in the farming community.
We had a super C on our farm growing-up, but your tractor looks so much better than ours ever did-ha!
She sounds so perfect love the look and red colour makes her stand out
Thank you Pete for sharing your world with us. . We learned a lot from watching you .👍👍👍👍👍
Old Farmall mechanic told me one time pete, when you put those two halves of that pump together after working on it Philip full of 90 weight put it back together and it will pretty much self prime
Boy, those red tractors sure look pretty all lined up in the 'new' machine barn! Can't wait to see which one is set to join them with the winter project!
Pete, I always enjoy your videos with mechanical repairs and restoration. You take care and don’t rush to get things done and do it right. Thank you for taking me along, it’s so enlightening and enjoyable.😊
Fastest rebuild I’ve seen you do. You make it look easy.
Woster pumps will get you everytime. Good job Pete.
Hi Pete
Hello from Minnesota
I’m a Swiss machinist I run a CNC machine my bar feeder that put raw steel bar stock into the machine the bar feeder runs about 1500 to 2000 psi hydraulic oil and the filter caps are held down by 6 bolts the seal is a 8 inch diameter .120 diameter o ring I will cut and superglue the rubber o rings together and have no problem With any oil leaks
You should be fine making your own seals
❤your channel keep doing what you’re doing
Gunny
Bet you can't wait for your new shop! No more removing the exhaust pipes, no more bending to get in and out!! Can't wait for that project to start. Maybe you should hold off on your next "restoration" until after the new shop is ready. :-)
Ah.... A cliffhanger from Pete, I love it. That hydraulic pump was more complicated than the one on my old super a about 30 years ago I found the oil over full and didn't know what was wrong, so I went to my I-H dealer and he said to pull the pump off and bring it to him. He split it on the counter picked the shaft o ring popped a new one in and charged me a couple of bucks. Been fine ever since. I sure miss him and having parts 5 miles away.
Thank you Pete, I especially enhoy your videos where you work on something quite technical like hydraulic pumps. Looking for a belly pump for my H one of these days, will refer to your video on that one when I find one.
Manure spreader looks mint too! Great work! Can't wait to see what is being restored next!
The soap and water trick works for "regular" vinyl stickers too. It makes them a little easier to apply and makes larger stickers more forgiving. So, you can used the same trick with other vinyl, especially large stickers.
As usual, thanks for the video. Why no blood on your knuckles?
Pete, your knowledge and experience never cease to amaze me. Great job. I'm looking forward to much more
Hey Pete, Nothing says "I AM THIS FARMERS SPREADER" like a New Holland...Cheers from Maine.
I'm a bit late on the comments from a couple of videos ago, but I'm rooting for Billy.
You do a very good job of tear down and rebuild and you don’t skip over nothing it’s very nice to watch your videos from start to finish. Keep up the good work I’d like it.
The soap and water isn't to activate the decals, but rather it gives you leeway to shift the decal into the exact position you want and to straighten out the kinks/rolls from applying it so you don't get a bad set on it. And the waiting period is just for it to dry so you can peel if off cleanly.
It used to be one of those tricks of the trade techniques, but is now so well known its now standard practice in directions.
Manure spreader looks great. To bad you're not closer to Michigan. Zatkoff seals and o rings. Walk in and let them know what it is for and let them measure it and if they don't have it, they usually can find them.
With new decals, the poop-shooter will be FAST now! I'm surprised there's no knuckle-buster on the steering wheel of the "Super C". She's sounding mighty fine now though.
The spreader turned out great! I like your o- ring rejuvenation action. I was taken aback that it does that!
I chuckled when you discovered with a dip stick that the tractor was almost out of gas. Guess there’s not a working gas gauge? Top speed…woohoo!
Half the work is the joy ride after the repair
Pete, the old Super C is such a beauty. And she sounds soooo sweet. And that has to be the prettiest manure spreader I have ever seen. One more thumbs-up for Pete Larson. Thanks, Pete.
Can’t wait for news on the winter project 👍 . But a little request , let’s see what the cows are making of the new winter shed / extension . Always love seeing the cattle 😊
Before I studied architecture my vocation was sign painting. Had one of the first computer sign makers using 3M vinyl material. Worked for Paul Newman from ‘78-‘88 applying the graphics to the race cars at Danbury Ct. My favorite was the Planter’s Peanut car which photos can still be found online. Interesting always to see how tractor parts are designed and manufactured. Nice pump job, although I haven’t used olive to cook anything yet that wasn’t food! Can’t wait for the restoration project-hope it is your oldest tractor. Hope you, Hilary and family have great week! And come on let us know when the restoration will start. 😊
That's a great country road in front of Pete's farm. I've never seen another vehicle on it.
So happy you are back mate and hope you and your family and friends are all doing well mate thanks for sharing your journey and hope you are all doing well God you all ..it’s really nice that you show people how to do it wright mate you have a lot off knowledge I really appreciate it and hope you’re children take it up cos as you know when we are going that’s it as always all the best to you and your family and friends. What an amazing experience and great job you did there mate love it.
Fun stuff. Looks great!
Not sure anybody offered this yet, but to the best of my knowledge spraying soapy water isn't for activating the stickiness. It simply allows you to place the decal and slide it around. Once in the perfect position then you use the squeegee to get that soapy water out of there, and allow the vinyl to stick. So you don't need to use tape or other markings to line things up, you can just slide the decal into the perfect position. I hope that is helpful!
Happy Holidays from Alaska!
The water/soap solution is to allow you to work out the air bubbles
Mr. Pete you're an artist when it comes to restoration. Those decals look like they were put on at the factory. I'd have to look but I think my 140 has that same hydraulic pump.
Goodness Mr. Pete! That manure spreader looks mighty fine!
The soapy water is to move the decals where you want them and has nothing to do with activating the adhesive.
When you squeegee the decal and force the water out is when the adhesion takes place.
I use to put decals on work vans years ago and this was a common method of installation.
It did not make sense to me to use the soapy water as I thought that would defeat the purpose, but it worked like a charm, as you found out.
The results of a job well done----a thing of beauty and utility.
Every time I watch one of Pete's videos, I see a man who has made it in life.
Nice job fixing the hydraulic pump on the Super C too!!.. Sometimes you have to think outside the box in order to get the job done...
Good day to all.
Those Farmalls sure made a great looking tractor.
*chef's kiss* Beauty!! Those decals really finish the spreader off!!
I hope you're able to find an original hydraulic pump. It would be FAR easier to get parts for one in the future
Always enjoy watching the super c getting ran.
Sometime before I go, I’m gonna use that Olive oil trick. Thanks for being you.
I saw your neighbor’s “GREEN” tractor sneak into the blog when you went for the short rip. There goes the Neighborhood!! 😱
👍👍
Can't wait to see what you have in store for us this winter! 👏👏
The soap and water is so you can squeegee out the air bubbles, not to activate the decals. It also allows you to adjust the decal if you mis-align it.
