Torrance and the rest of the South Bay are a prime example of what car-centric city planning and induced demand with our roadways does to our communities: increased vehicle traffic and commute times, noise, air pollution, pedestrian inconvenience and decreased safety, the higher possibility of accidents, and overall frustration. Having more public transit options other than buses to alleviate these issues would not only be good, but it is absolutely necessary in order to accommodate our growing population and provide an alternative to constantly having to rely on a car (which are themselves overly expensive to own). Solely depending on our communities' stroads and nearby interstate freeways is not sustainable for the future, in many more ways than just with local and intercity commuter access (it's not uncommon here for it to take 30 minutes or more just to get to the nearest freeway to be able to commute beyond this region). Even as Metro continues its expansion of LRT networks, the South Bay remains heavily underserved. The Metro C-Line Extension to Torrance is definitely a great start in allowing residents better options to get around and alleviating traffic issues, but much, much more needs to be done to adequately serve the rest of the South Bay.

I hope that they choose the Hawthorne Blvd option because it would be so convenient to be able to go straight to the south bay galleria and it would avoid my home as well which the freight train already makes so much noise

Crime Rate will rise in Torrance.

Maybe Torrance criminals will take the Metro to do their crime in other parts LA county. That could also factor into crime rates and give the TPD a break too.

There is nothing to see or be entertained in Torrance. Do not need a Metro terminal station in Torrance that homeless have to get off when train stops at night. It's a community safety and security risk right next to refinery and huge lumberyard. As long as Metro can't fund itself and security, Torrance doesn't need Metro; Torrance has oil refinery and it will likely be there a very long time if crime and fire protected.
