I'm a school student in Sri Lanka.. I can read and write English well (well mean, in comparison with my friends..) And also, I can speak English somewhat and I'm practising little by little to develop it.. But I'm weak in hearing fast English conversations and I watch English Vlogs in order to develop my hearing skills.. but I'm not satisfied about that method.. please give me a proper solution dear teacher.. (However, I can understand what you say, very clearly with your talking style and speed..) Finally, Thank you for your Valuable videos.. I learn so many things out of them.. Much love from Sri Lanka.. 😍

I am a native and fluent English speaker, my parents are both native and fluent English speakers, and even we have miscommunications! Today we were gambling, and I said we should make some juicy stakes (Win more money!), my Father remarked that we had some -steaks- (cow beef) in the refrigerator. It was a funny moment, but also one to learn from. English is an imperfect language, it is normal for even the most experienced to mess up because that is the nature of the Language, it is weird.

Guys being really honest with you, English is the language to connect you with the world so take it as much as you can, read materials you need, study using English, watch stuff you enjoy, listen to podcasts whenever you can, learn new words... etc., because it takes years to speak with flow and without thinking in each sentence you will say

  • @trainerrazanal-ayoubi3393

Thank you so much Vanessa. I would add a tip about having a specific notebook where an English learner would keep a record of any new phrases or idioms while listening to English. I can advise to always learn phrases together rather than one word at a time, 'cuz that means you learn collocations, full phrases or idioms to express ideas in English. Think about it this way, learning bigger chunks is easier to use than learning the tiny components of a language and then not knowing how to use them. ... This was my piece of advice, thankful I came across your channel. I will be sure to watch all your videos.

@@InahQisfa yes for example here are 2 sentences.
1 .I want to go there.
      2. I objected to going there.
Why do we use " to + infinitive" in first sentence and "to + verb plus ing in second sentence ?
This he explained in one of his demo classes.
He said ," write first sentence like this : I want apple. This sentence seems to be correct because we never write : I want to apple. So this example gives conclusion that we have to write infinitive after the verb "want" because infinitive "to plus base form of verb" is a noun and "want" should be followed by noun, not a preposition.
On the other hand we cannot write " I objected apple. Because "objected" is not a transitive verb so it cannot be followed by noun therefore, "to " followed by verb "objected " is a preposition and preposition is never followed by base form of verb. It is followed by noun. So we write "going" in second sentence. "Going" is a gerund(noun). So it is correct in second sentence.

I always learn English two hours a day. First of all, I practice my pronunciation. Secondly, I read some articles out loud. To finish, I listen to some conversations. Sometimes I write my daily life in English. Actually, somehow or other I increased my skills in 2020.😬

I have some interesting tips for English fluency and confidence:
    1) Watch your favorite English videos that talk about topics you love the most and just get interested in the specific content you want to learn.
    2) Absorb the vocabulary from any kind of materials full of appealing information you think it can be so useful for you and just make it stick to avoid forgetting what you are about to learn.
    3) Try speaking English on your own as much as you can no matter if you don't sound like a native speaker because all English learners from all over the world will have a definite accent when speaking the language but it doesn't really matter either, the more you practice, the more you will spot your mistakes into your speaking to correct and keep on speaking to yourself as long as you don't have a good quality English speaking partner to practice with.
Thank you so much as always for your kind, helpful and delightful English lessons Vanessa 😊❤🌹.

My golden tip is talking with myself ☺️ , it sounds crazy but it's absolutely useful , I was always trying to create a conversation in my mind , I was asking my self some questions and then acting as a different person and answering the questions confidently, when I was feeling that there is a situation that I can't describe clearly, because of the lack of vocabulary , I was trying to search about the suitable words and then learn how to use them in a sentence.
I still remember the words of my mom 😂 she was saying
Are you crazy ? Why are you talking with yourself?

Correct! You should be confident and courageous while learning a new language. Everything takes time in order to learn it just like that learning a new language requires patience and consistency. Don't be concern about the mistakes you make while speaking. You will definitely make mistakes while speaking. Mistakes are a part of learning.

Hi Vanessa, we're on the same page about learning English (and every other language) in 30 days: it's impossible! But listening every day to english film or audio contents such as podcasts or even music is very helpful. I also suggest to read novels and/or newspapers in english. The important thing is to choose subjects we're interested in. On the other hand I don't find very useful apps for learning foreign languages because they often focus on the grammar or pronunciation and not on the real use of a language in daily life.

And I just figured out that we need to select appropriate materials to keep you surrounded by english. For my case, watching youtube from american living in my country havs been the best one to continue to learn that. Also, If you are tired of learning something, feel free to try something interesting in english than leaning grammer or voca.

Besides of all the amazing tips that you shared, I would like add, asking yourself question and answering them, try to do the answer as long as you can.. also a really funny way to improve and master this fluency is doing roleplays, if you have a friend that'll be perfect, but if you don't, do it yourself, roleplay about something, imagine that you are two characters of a movie, and interact with yourself

And if you're a little bit shy too talk out with your friends in English and to have some online friends ( as I recommend you all to use Amino app or other any apps that u are comfort with ) And that's all . I guess it would truly help you all guys to learn English fast as furious . And as venessa told earlier "JUST KEEP GOING WITH WHAT U DO" . As a hearing impaired, I feel so isolated because I’m not a deaf but the rest of hearing is not enough to hinder my daily conversation. And I always escape from the reality and persuade myself of my disability. Like “ hey you even cannot speak and listen your mother tongue well, how can you study a second language? How can you hear and respond English conversation fluently?. However, as time went by, I realised that I have to face the summer internship and going to the workplace. English is a necessary tool for us in those place. So as Vanessa’s says, the priority is persist in using English everyday and try to explain and describe my thoughts and everything that I had saw. This is my first day to implement the action. I hope I can press on.
