You are very welcome, Dee Dee; thank you for the lovely feedback! ❤️
This is the best video on this topic to date. Now I understand and from now: practice to master. Thanks, I love good teachers ❤️👍🏻🙏🏻
You're very welcome, FruBlaes! I appreciate your kind feedback so much! ❤️
Suzanne is an instructor who CLEARLY demonstrates knitting techniques and makes one feel _____ I can do that!
Thank you! Happy knitting.
Thank you so much for your tutorial. I’ve been looking for video that show how to catch the float. I will work to practice ❤❤❤❤
You can do it, Dee Dee! You are very welcome! ❤️
I have learned so much from your videos. Thank you for making all of them.
Thank you Barbara. Happy knitting.
I just wanted to tell you that I love your channel. These kinds of details and watching your methods have vaulted my knitting from pretty good to WOW. So THANK YOU!
That is the exact reason that I make videos. Thank you so much for the feedback. Happy knitting.
Nicely done! Thank-you, Suzanne.
You are welcome. Happy knitting.
Thank you for this video and showing slowly enough that I can follow along to see how it is done. Good video.
You are very welcome! Happy knitting.
Thank you so much! A lot of techniques in one video - brilliant! Now back to practising, it’s not easy :)
Perfect. Happy knitting.
Love her videos, so ready to follow.
Thank you
Thanks so much, Carol!
Dear Suzanne, You and Andrea Doig from Fruityknitting are the ONLY ones who show this technique clearly! Thank you so much! As far as I know it came from (or was taught by) the late Ann Bourgeois of Philosophers Wool company. Unfortunately their DVD is not available anymore and due to modern technology the video on their site is not accessible anymore. So thank you very much! I cherish your videos! Also the one where you teach how to eliminate holes at the underarms. I watched it and knitted 5 jumpers after that - never having a problem since. Best, Arianna
Yes, you are right, but Ann trapped after every stitch, which I do not do. Than you so much for watching my videos. I love to teach knitting.
@@SuzanneBryan - That is interesting! Andrea Doig of @Fruityknitting does that too. She trappes every stitch or every other stitch. I tried it, and I get a flat fabric without having to have too much attention on my tension. And yes, please keep teaching! I love your videos! ♥
😀
This is a beautiful technique!
Thank you Carol. Happy knitting.
Ilove love your pink Scoties trust you to find such cute color o really bring out the Scotty in a simple knitting.
Thank you, Cashmere!! ❤️
Best video I've found so far, and my eyes hurt from watching so many trying to get my questions answered! Thank you! I'm going to watch again to see if you said but I can't remember, is the pink your dominant yarn? Also do you always hold the dominant yarn in your left hand?
Thank you!
Thank you. 😊
Thank you Francine Frechette! Happy knitting.
Thank you so much!!! My first attempt at floating and this is the first one where I could really see where the yarn was held in relation to the needles etc for the purl WS.
Wonderful Janice Manikowski! Happy Knitting.
Mine isn't catching and I want to cry. I've watched the video over and over.
I'm sorry, I have other videos regarding floats that may be more specific to your needs. In the search type in Catching Floats and it will pull up several different videos. Good luck!
Thank you! I love this technique and you make it look so easy. I'm a continental knitter and I'm wondering if there is anything I can do to maintain an even tension with one color as continental and one color throwing? Admittedly, my throwing skills leave a lot to be desired!
Practice, practice, practice. Use the throwing technique for a whole project and forced yourself to become comfortable with it.
Happy knitting. Be sure to share my videos!
LOL. I was afraid you'd say that! Guess someone is getting a wonky throw blanket for their birthday.
Exactly!
Love your details..deb
I love your videos. Your videos are so clear and you explain so well that it's easy to learn. I have a question regarding catching floats on the ws when knitting garter. Is it possible? :o) thanks in advance
I have never tried it with garter stitch. Try it and let me know.
Hiya! I am just a little confused as to why you catch the different colours in different ways?
Go ahead and make a little swatch and try it. You will soon see the differences. Happy Knitting!
Hi Suzanne how come you work stay so nice and flat my gets bucle up. How to hold the yarn in order it doesn't get too lose or too tight? Thanks
Hi Cashmere, if you slow the video down, you'll see the I hold the yarn in my index and middle fingers and its also wrapped around my pinky. This allows me to keep a even tension and control the yarn. If you click on the settings icon (the little spoke wheel in the lower right side) you can adjust the speed.
Much thanks Suzanne..I've a lot of trouble with tensions. I''m currency using a super fine 100% cashmere yarn to knit a shawl .In the past I never have an problem but this time I had unravel the yarn 3 times because the yo hole turn out to be so big even though I used a size 3.5mm needle as I had before . Any tips you can help me with?
