I really respect Echo for letting these guys just talk. not that he doesn't have great stuff to add, but I think he realizes these specific episodes are for these guests. in so many other podcasts the interviewers do so much dick measuring and interrupting. Echo is a quiet professional in his own right
Robert Tobias echo is usually the smartest one, or at least the most insightful, in the room. funny how he's so quiet.
Echo asks questions that civilians like me appreciate. I need clarification sometimes and echo gets them to give explanations. Haven’t seen a podcast I didn’t like yet.
A rare skill this day and age, listening. Echo learns from every guest they have on, and the only input he has is usually questions, he’s going to be one knowledgeable sob, and his guidance will be sought after
Id love to be in echos seat for even one conversation. Bet you can just feel the badass in the air 🤣

I felt kinda sad when Tony started talking about his life outside the teams. You can tell he misses it and is a little lost without it. Wish him nothing but the best in his future
100% felt the same way. Especially when he was saying how he drinks a lot, alluding to that's how he copes with it. I really hope he finds a new mission in life that motivates him and keeps him around people he can relate to. I really really hope he finds that. I can't even imagine how hard that transition must be.

I've known Tony for years and he's an amazing person. Still see him to this day in northern nh and he always makes you feel like a friend. You can always have a good time with Tony and mad dog Mike. Respect

I think BTF is exactly the same attitude our Founding Fathers had when they stood up to the Brits and not only declared our independence, but fought and won it. We don't have the same men or arms to beat you, but we will just BTF until we win. Awesome. Hope you are back on the podcast soon, Mr. Eafrati.

Jocko - I was not nor was I ever an operator, however, I was a career long support SNCO to operators (Combat Controllers/PJs) at JSOC and I cannot tell you how much I enjoy listening to these interviews! Clearly, I was not a team guy, but I worked for decades alongside the team guys doing what support guys like me do...take as much "non-operator shit" off the operator's plate as we possibly could so you guys could guy kill savages. There was a special kinship, at least in JSOC, between support and operators...clearly not like that of team guys, but similar in its own right. Although never a gunfighter I too miss the life we all once had.....being part of the greater team was and remains the more rewarding part of my life. Much of the reason I am successful after active duty is because of all of the lessons I learned from supporting special operators....they never quite so nor did we...we couldn't! They would not let problems slow them down and nor could we. Many operators chose to stay ion the team and capped out at E-7 on the enlisted side.....and so did us support guys. We could have left the special mission units and ascended the ranks, but we chose to stay and serve.....such an honor and blessing to have served with the operators...this nation's finest and I am eternally grateful. I laughed with you guys but at certain points I could feel the emotion, and you could see it in tony, when he closed his eyes. I could see he definitely isn't where he'd prefer outside the military. I hope he finds that kick ass job or hobby that he can get after every day.
I've listened to this episode at least half a dozen times and it never gets old.
So much respect for these men. I really enjoy the sit downs with his choice of guests (fellow team members especially) and the range of topics. They leave me so motivated, grateful and thankful. Echo Charles laughing in the background at them reminiscing on the funny times is me over here. Always look forward these.

I served with Tony at PRT Ghazni in 2010. I still tell "Uncle Tony" stories to this day. I used to try to copy his accent and get pretty good. Thank you for having him on your show.

Loved this one! Laughed a lot to! Made it even better that I was born and raised in Maine. Went to Army basic training in Fort Benning GA in 2000 (June, July, Aug) Made so much sense about higher percentages of Seals from New England making it.
I live in Austin, Texas now, and go Jog and do 100,s of Pushups when it's like 103 Out, and the locals are whining about the heat! And I'm all like wtf I'm out here getting it done, and I'm from Maine where its Wicked Facken Cold!

I've only listen to a half dozen of Jaco's broadcasts after reading Extreme Ownership,, but after serving as a Marine intelligence specialist in the 80s , I think this is the best overview of what being a member of an elite military organization is like and should be like. Thank you for recording this for upcoming generations. Great broadcast!
I've been a listener and watcher of this show for a while now and this is the first Tony episode I've heard. It's really helping me understand how these guys would think and communicate during operations, and I feel like I understand Jocko a bit more now.

I'm late to the game but working my way through all the podcasts. As several have said, this one was the most "entertaining" to me so far - probably because it was really funny and because it's just fun to sit and listen to these two vets talk about their actual experiences in combat.
Just back here again to listen to the BTF episodes. At least an annual occurrence at this stage 👍🏻
