- So real quick!! This is Not a Madoka Magica AU! But an animatic as if the opening for Madoka Magica were the opening for PRISM.
I’d like to do a few more of these, I’ll probably be posting the thumbnails for the other animatic ideas to Patreon soon, really just been wanting to show off in something other than a speedpaint how much I had been working on this series! Even though it was supposed ti start off as just a one off silly concept, I've grown to really really love this story and I'm exploring a couple avenues with how to bring it to life!
Also to be clear! PRISM is in pretty early development, there isn't a pilot in the works. yet. I don't know how long that will take either but I'll keep you guys as up to date with that as I can!

@@Lemondrop2124 Prism is a series Reagan is working on after she redesigned her old ocs she drew when she was young. She redesigned them again and it became really popular so now she is working on making it to an actual series for people to watch. Hope this helps!

The more details you give for this the more I feel like the team isnt gonna be saving the world, they're made to save a little girl who is going to some day save the entire world. I mean the weapons are all toys, the leader of the group is the idol of the little one, who just so happens to be within age range of our teen-dad parent of the little one, shes got aspirations of being just like the main character one day and while the story is framed as Cat's story its all an elaborate ploy because as you said before:
"The main character of a magical girl series always wears pink"

And the fact that Rea used the Madoka Magica opening of all the magical girl openings. PMMM does have reputation as being a sort of wolf in sheeps clothing.

It took my eleventh billion rewatch of this to notice HE’S LETTING YU PAINT HIS NAILS DUDE THATS SO CUTE- 0:34 AND IT GETS SPILLED CUZ OF HER EXCITEMENT 0:39
between Vivziepop making three episodes of Helluva Boss already, ABD illustrates making two speedpaints about Heartless, and now Rea making her magical girls into an animated series, it seems that 2021 is going to be a big year for independent animators and I couldn't be happier about that :D

It seems like this is gonna be the only magical girl show where the parent actually knows about the girl being a magical girl- most magical girl shows I’ve seen, the little girl hides it from her parents
Yeah but considering the information Rea has given about this story most likely Yu's father will be upset about his daughter, who is a literal child, being a magical girl but can't do anything about it.
I feel like Yu would be like “Dad! Dad! Look what I could do!” And transforms in front of him.
i love the fact that katsumi is inspired by a cat and yu by a mouse, the two animals who are always fighting and outplaying each other. I wonder if maybe this could become a theme in a particular event during the story! Either way i LOVE your work Rea, you deverse SO much recognition, you are insanely talented and i watch your channel religiously because you inspire me so deeply! Always remember to continue the projects you love and to take care of yourself, great minds need great rest

Considering Yu’s probably the main protagonist and her mom outta the picture since she was a teen pregnancy, it wouldn’t surprise me if her Mom was the final hurdle,whether as the final villain or a way to say that she’s stronger mentally than she looks despite her age by meeting her for the first time.BUT, knowing Rea she wouldn’t go down that route and let it be something else entirely from this animatic.(I look forward to watching this very much! Can’t wait😊😄❤️)
Katsumi is actually the main character (Yu is def still a main character, just not *the* main character)

From what I’ve seen in this animatic, magical girls don’t really keep their identities a secret.
Plus considering that the agency hires girls and Neneko is said to be the poster girl for them, they’re probably general knowledge to the public too.
If this turns out to be true I would really like that sort of take on the genre, this might just be me but I’m tired of the whole magical girls secret identity thing by now.

Okay so I've rewatched this two times now and here are some stuff about wich I NEED answers (or I just generally love) !
1 : The design of mascots aaaaaaaaaah !!! Look at them ! It's so beautiful and original ! Like crystals animals ? OMG
2 : At 1:16 this HAS to BE the mane villain and if you look at it, it looks like her "mascot" looks like some kind of dragon or something like that AND I JUST LOVE IT
3 : At 1:24 we can see the second team that we've seen in the second speedpaint but after that if you put the video in slow mode you can see : a duo of girl with weapons that complete each others like the sun and the moon and what I guess are tatoos ? (I love them), a girl with a ballet theme probably mostly inspired from Swan Lake on the left, still on the left a girl with a metal theme (she's so beautiful OMG), again on the left a girl that looks very similar to Yû, on the right a girl with a little red riding hood theme but like she's a mix between the wolf and the girl, still on the right a girl with a GUN X) and rubbons, a girl with an umbrella and I could go on and on but just look at that in very slow speed because OMG there are beautiful*
4 : At 1:26 this AS to be the first/most powerful magical girl !
5 : And finally at 1:44 I don't really know who that is but looks like the mascots can turn into jewellery !

My personal theory is that the first/most powerful magical lady is actually the one who creates the little crystal sprites since her hair and the sprites tails look VERY similar
