According to the UMC own website, the number of churches/congregations in Indiana has gone from 1550 to 650 since 1998. that is one church closing every 10 days for over the last 24 years. And here is their answer to that.

Such an SNL skit WOULD have been hilarious if society's background understanding of biblical values and normative roles had not been undermined over the years. Used to be that the skit widely would be perceived as parody, and therefore, as funny. No longer, as it would only be met with confusion and offence. Hence, the alleged death of modern comedy does have a basis in fact.
I cannot believe I am going to say this. This is the first time I say it. I now understand why God did not allow woman to be pastors or leaders of the church.
I think a lot of people accepted women as pastors because we were in "peacetime," or a culture friendly to Christianity. A pastor was somebody who taught the church and cared for the church. Women can teach and care for people, right? But a pastor is also someone who fights off wolves to protect the sheep. We've found that the vast majority of women would rather accommodate and "include" wolves rather than exclude them.

My Father was an ordained Minster through the United Methodist Church back in 1970. He left the church when he found out how Godless these people are and became a Community Christian Pastor. He retired after serving 40 years.

These fools will not remain social for long. From what the speakers said, during the few days of this conference, monitors already got loaded up with complaints and unsatisfactory comments volunteered by the "faithful". Internal purges surely lie ahead for this lot.
Definitely NOT what Christ had in mind when he said: "Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.” But these folks ARE what Christ had in mind when he said: "Depart from me! I never knew you."

I share this truth in love: this is antigospel. If you are in a church like this, flee. Pray these "leaders" repent. A video that came to mind while watching this & highly recommend is by a NY Pastor, Carter Conlon, called "Run For Your Life" it is on CZcams & is a much needed warning.
I hate to be pessimistic but this level of delusion indicates a hardness of heart that has long since rejected God in favor of itself.

2:13 Wow! “Be respectful of the choice of language that is used”…except for God’s preferred pronouns as God the Father and God the Son. Those are NOT to be respected nor honored in our midst.
3:18 Look at that, God isn’t represented in that pie chart at all. It is as though He has no part in the conference.
5:07 …a call to worship themselves…”Church, you get an A”…for rejecting God’s “voice” in Galatians 3:28-29
5:44 “stop and ask yourself whose voice we have not heard”…God’s…you have not heard God’s voice.
7:06 “On the recommendations in the book of discipline” which replaces the outdated Word of God…race, gender and sexual perversion shall guide the selection of persons we nominate to lead the UMC.

Not one Biblical reference for why they're doing this. Zero. If you don't care about what's in the Bible, why do you go to church at all, and why are you at a church conference? Find a social club that meets your needs. A Christian church should have a solid Biblical foundation and everything they do should come out of that foundation.

I used to attend a UMC discussion group (not the service, never joined the church). I will never go back. This was disgusting to watch. So patronizing and controlling. I couldn't even stomach watching more than half of it. Pathetic.
All I heard was me,me & more me. All in selfish reasons. Where was GOD in any of these conversations? We go to church to worship GOD. It’s not about us. It feels like GOD has been taken away from this “church”. I can’t believe what I am hearing. These people want to be inclusive but are excluding GOD. As an orthodox Christian this saddens me to the core. It actually scares me for them .
Monitors, Dear Jesus help these people wake up.
