Everybody has the right to express themselves regardless of "lack of talent" and our dislike of it - not that I disagree, because I watched this band live and while we cannot judge from a CZcams video version in terms of sound quality, Soviet Soviet's performance in the flesh really was downright mediocre. And while this isn't entirely the band's fault - they do what they know best - imitate. In my personal opinion, their sound is neither special nor unique. Just one in a row of today's bands with a suitably catchy name that's appealing mostly to a younger generation of music listeners - which again, is absolutely fine. However, as much as they're desperately hiding behind the wall of noise, you cannot but notice the word "hype" stretching all over their output.
