Should probably add a disclaimer NOT to drink the coke after doing this. Whether or not it is technically safe, any screw up will leave you drinking drain cleaner
Yeah he makes it seem like you are able to drink it after performing the experiment. Anyone in their right mind would not drink from it but probably safe to add a disclaimer

it wouldn't be safe to drink period because that micro film is only meant to further protect the can first of all. as well as preserve against permeation. but because the can is gone and with drain cleaner no doubt arguably a highly alkaline. it means passthrough will occur especially if left overnight

I worked in a can manufacturing plant. That plastic is called lacquer. We spray the inside of the cans with it so that the contents of the drink does not react with the aluminium. In france, they banned the conventional lacquer due to possible carcinogens it held. It is important to follow the best before date on your product as the lacquer can degrade over time and seep into your drink.

You don’t want to drink the remaining liquid inside. Plastic is preventing the metal(aluminium) to dissolve in coke but the plastic can be permeable once the metal part is removed.

If you do decide to do this at home, make sure it’s in a well ventilated area away from open flame. Hydrogen gas is created as a biproduct of the reaction between sodium hydroxide and aluminum, if I’m not mistaken, and hydrogen gas is not a force to be reckoned with.

When aluminium reacts with sodium hydroxide (Drain Cleaner) it creates Sodium Aluminium TetraHydroxide or Sodium TetraHydroxoAluminate(Na[OH]4Al) and Hydrogen gas is produced and Hydrogen is FLAMMABLE
