Interesting and interesting
You forget that Ganondorf Owned Lon Lon after he took over. The other guy was running it for him, but he technically made everything owned by his government & did away with private business.
Ganondorf's head looks like a potato in this game.
I think it's hilarious how Ingo freaks out over the "humiliation," as if Ganondorf actually would care that Ingo lost a bet of 50 rupees on a horse race. I mean really that's pocket change at best.
I'm a simple man. I see Ocarina of Time, I click. The fact that it's a dive into some lore that a lot of people don't know/forgot about from one of my favorite Zelda creators is a huge bonus. Great job sir!
Hey Bandit.
I really like the zelda community and all the collaborations you've done recently
Link stole that horse . ganondorf held this hatred for 10,000 years into the future
OoT is the best Zelda game I have ever played, and I think I actually said that in a comment on one of your videos too...
Anyway, I am a huge Hero of Time geek, so I don't really like the "hero's fallen" side of the timeline. (Sorry ALTTP and ALBW!)
I also have a huge crush on Adult Link from the 3D remaster.
And the MajorLink animations...
Hi bandit
Epona: * exists *
Link: *hippity hopitty this horse is now my property*
lol
Lol
lol
Excuse me, Epona did not belong to Ganondorf, Epona was impressed into involuntary servitude when Lon Lon Ranch was illegally seized.
Correct, she illegally belonged to Ganondorf
@@HyruleGamer not illegally, since Hyrule is under the rule of Ganondorf during that period, but rather unethically.
Nope.
The horse was intended for Ganondorf, but clearly never actually his. We don't know that Ganondorf ever knew about Epona specifically.
Planned ownership, but no ownership
*Well, it doesn't really make sense that he wouldn't just give Ganondorf a different horse if Ganondorf wasn't aware of Epona. I mean... Epona was one of the worst options there were, he literally couldn't tame her. It wasn't like she was his top stock.
*So Ganondorf must have already picked Epona in some capacity, and by presenting her to Ganondorf Ingo may have meant it literally- passing her over to him.
*This could be before or after finalizing purchases. So she was either already bought or simply reserved
I love how people still make videos and theory about a game made over 20 years ago
Overthinking lol
There's still a lot of unsolved mysteries even from games made years ago.
Well..we are still wondering if luigi said "F*ck" in Mario golf (64) or not
It's still a mystery
Botw giant ganon horse: Wait you had a horse before me
Ganondorf: Yes but link stole him, i'll not let him steal you
Meanwhile
Botw link: Time to steal a giant horse
Zelda looks better in drag, Link looks better in drag, I wonder if Link would also look good dressed as Ganondorf in drag...
Le me, a 90's kid: "Yeah, who doesn't know this?"
Le me, a 90's kid, realizing the 90's were a dang long time ago moments later: ),:
Haha, same here. Doesn't make me feel old, though. Does it you?
@@JariDawnchild Honestly, the number doesn't make me feel too old yet, but the occasional back pain sure does.
@@kittybeans8192 I hear you there lol. I hear my daughter and her friends talking about the stuff I grew up with the same way my friends and I used to talk about the stuff our parents grew up with and I need to pause and digest my mind having just been blown lol.
as someone born in 2002, i didn’t experience oot like you guys did, i more so enjoyed twilight princess haha
Ingo was PLANNING on presenting Epona to Ganondorf, so she was never his.
True dat
Game: Take a shot every time HG says “Ganondorf”, “horse”, or “Epona.”
🤣
Instructions unclear, i shot my friend with an ancient bow and he immediately perished. Should’ve had better armour
Some of us don't want to die
@@revilno I’m sorry for that unfortunate event. I should have been more clear. I meant shot glasses full of alcohol. The game’s called “Alcohol Poisoning” (at least if you make it to that burst of the key words at the end. You’d have to have them lined up in advance to keep up.)
@@masonschwalm2010 instructions still unclear, I threw a glass of alcohol every time he said those keywords and my friend still died, even though I told him not too
Giddy up, early gang, we've got an massive jump over a corral fence into a leg-shattering fall beyond it to somehow survive
:)
Pokemon in other universes CONFIRMED
Everyone I knew growing up always jumped the gate. I only learned you could jump the side fences a year or two ago and it blew my mind.
The manga also has a scene about this! But Link and Epona are in Kakariko Village at the momoment.
Have you confirmed the Japanese version uses the same connotation that it was an already established deal?
Makes me wonder why he'd want to replace Ganondorf's actual horse?
I think it was moreso an offering in order to keep Ganondorf's terror out of the area
Could be as simple as Ganondorf's black horse getting older and him searching for a new steed to take its place.
@@jensdeclercq2233 Definitely. The black horse was already fully mature 7 years in the past, so in horse years it's middle-aged at the youngest.
Probably a gift to stay away from the area. and also, HIS HORSE IS A DRAFT HORSE. Lol
Weird… I always jumped the Gate and was blown away when I found out you could jump the wall.
Same
I knew about both. I prefer jumping the gate because I it's like I'm slapping Ingo in the face with skill
Same but jump the gate is more fun and it shows to Ingo who's the real boss
Really?! I'm trying that as soon as games, hardware, and money will allow.
I was the opposite lol~ I had no idea you could jump the gate and I only knew about the wall :,) always nice learning something new about a 20 year old game
I always jumped over the gate right in front of Ingo, and I always found it odd how you appeared to leap out into Hyrule Field in the following cutscene. I only realized much later that you can leap over the walls.
"HOTBOI SHEIK" so true ill upvote on that one hyrule gamer
Upvote? This is CZcams…
Is it sad that stunningly beautiful Zelda looks better in drag? Almost makes me want to see BoTW2 Zelda in drag.
That was a sad time epona deserves better
Wait - you can jump the gate?! Why am I just finding this out now
I tried jumping the gate but couldn't get it to work. Maybe I didn't get the right angle?
Now that you mentioned it "I HAAATE ocarina of time!" Now that I jokenly got that off my chest. I can honestly say I still love that game! Really good theory dude! :)
Thanks for posting today I’m sick and this really cheered me up
:D
not only do I like Ocarina of Time, I’m confident enough to say it is my favorite game ever. I know it’s not the newest nor most amazing game ever but I have too many memories attached to it, when I played it at 5 years old. Best times of my life.
It's my favorite game of all time too, I hope they port OOT to switch.
Same.
I've always jumped over the side and never knew you could jump the gate until I watched this video. My mind is blown
Ayy! I wish I had remembered this. This is really cool.
Nice job with the short video format!
Oh I remember this! I got so nervous when he locked everything up
But I loved jumping over the wall it was awesome
Ganondorf: So we meet Link
Link: ...... *Link sounds*
Ganondorf: give me the horse or else and I might not battle right now!
Link: *confused* about the horse then looking at Epona
Ganondorf: WELL?!
Link: **nope**
Strangely, I never knew you could jump over the side until earlier this year, I always went over the gate
As a kid I used to go more through the gate instead of the fence, i thought it was cooler that way because i believed she hit Ingo in the face with her hooves in the middle of the jump
I've always said that Epona was Malon's horse.
Hyrule Gamer sounds so exited that Ganondorf took over
At the risk of sounding stupid, I had the opposite thinking you did. I never knew you could jump over the perimeter of the fence, I always jumped over the gate Ingo closes because I thought that was what you needed to do and that that was the only option.
Jumping the fence never crossed my mind
I didn't know you could jump the gate 🤔 I've only ever jumped the wall. I'll try that on my next playthrough. Learn something new everyday! Is there an epic cutscene too?
@@kelsiemak No, it's the same cutscene I think. I just never knew that jumping the fence was possible, but it's the same cutscene if you jump the gate or the fence from what I've seen, I haven't tried it myself yet, but I'd imagine they're the same. It would've been cool though if there was an additional cutscene, at least to see Ingo's shocked look or something, but there isn't. But it's all good, lol. If anything, like you said, you learn something new everyday, and it's good to know that both the fence and the gate are options XD
I remembered when that evil new horse stable owner said its ganondorfs horse like when link took epona and left and yea , still awesome theory
I’ve been watching you and a lot of the other Zelda theorists on here for a couple weeks now while I do deliveries for work and play versions Zelda games and reminisce on my childhood, of which the legend of Zelda was my first ever experience with a video game, I have been having that “I’ve played this a million times but never thought about that!” Moment from your videos quite a bit and I love it, it makes me really think back on it which gives me the nostalgic feeling I get whine actually playing games like ocarina of time which was my second Zelda game behind Zelda 2: the adventure of link. I absolutely LOVE your videos man, keep up the good work!
Great video topic. I like it when Zelda content creators cover details that usually get overlooked, 'cause surprisingly there's quite a bit of them.
Exactly!!!
Link's not a stranger to using "items" that don't belong to him. The sword in TP was meant to go to the King. The net in ALTTP belonged to a kid who couldn't get out of bed. I know there's a ton more items he uses that don't belong to him, but my brain farts are extra stinky today. But there's a ton of items he gets that he "borrows" and ate asked to return.
Wow neat video! I can’t believe I missed this! Also it’s really cool you got inspired by The Bread Pirate! He’s another one of my fav Zelda-tubers, and I think the short style theory or fun fact videos are really cool!
Every time I watch your intro it makes me wanna play twilight princess
Jumping the gate that Ingo is behind will net you with the BEST cut-scene of the possible 4 (each cut-scene is slightly different depending on which wall/gate you jump over)! Jumping over the gate is also the toughest of the 4 possible jumps, so...good luck.
That Intro was really good! Love the laugh.
I only learned in the past few months that you can jump the perimeter fence! I've been playing it since 2007 and have jumped the gate every single time.
Love Epona so much! Hopefully she will return in New Horizons for Zelda 35
I always jumped the gate, never knew till right now you could jump the perimeter fence
I was kinda pissed on what Ingo was like when you went back to Lon Lon ranch after stealing Epona. Man, I wanted to go smush it in his face but…
Even after 20 years, we’re still learning new things. For example, Instead of running epona off a LITERAL CLIFF LIKE EVERYONE ELSE, I jumped epona over the gate Ingo previously closed, creating the most badass thing in a Zelda Game ever, by jumping OVER INGO. In the words of Ned from Spider-Man, BADASS
Though that could be a thing, i am sure the Great Ingo was waiting to tame Epona before giving her to Ganondorf. No ranch owner would give a wild horse to someone they are trying to impress.
Funny thing, I never knew that you could jump the perimeter fence, and was only aware of the gate jump.
I never forgot about that part regarding Epona, but the passage of *time* (and playing multiple other games since then) kinda made me **forget** lol. However the "I was going to present her to Ganondorf" means that she wasn't technically Ganondorf's yet, because it implies there has been *no* official (or even unofficial) handing over of ownership. Because, in Ingo's own words, Ganondorf GAVE the ranch to Ingo. So Epona was *actually* Ingo's not *technically* Ganondorf's.
I jumped the gate the first time I played. Didn't know I could jump the wall so the second time I played I couldn't get epona to jump the gate again and got stuck till I realized that wall was kinda low. Haven't managed to jump the gate since.
You can actually see how badly Ingo treats the horses during the second race were he continuously hits the horse forcing it to speed up.
I can confirm that, yes, you can indeed jump the gate and Ingo won't do a thing
(Funnily enough, I never realised you could jump the outer fences until my 5th play-through...)
I love how you don’t say Ganondorf. You are always like „The King of EVIL 😈 Ganondorf himself“
I really like these short stories!
Adam it would make more sense for Epona to jump the gate then jumping the fence because of how high it actually is cuz a real horse would have died
Ima never looking at Oot the same way again.
crazy thing to think about!! another great video as always 😊
“Hot Boi Sheik!”

@@HyruleGamer Do You Think Nintendo Will Make Some DLC For Skyward Sword HD?????? And If So What Would You Want To See????
YOU CAN JUMP THE GATE TOO!? I NEVER KNEW OMG
YOU MEAN TO TELL ME I DIDNT HAVE TO GO IN CIRCLES JUST TO JUMP THE GATE?!?!
My Life... Was An Illusion.
Wait wait wait, you can jump the gate? Honestly tempted to start the game again, just to get to this stage and test that. (Who am I kidding I don’t need an excuse to start OOT again)
I'm jealous, I no longer have the game and the ancient system I've got doesn't work anymore. I didn't purchase the HD or respective system, btw...
I swear I played that for years, thinking you have to jump by the broken part of the fence to get out of Lon Lon Ranch lol
**Me who just played a bit of Ocarina of time for the 1st time ever on my cousin’s DS**
**Sees thumbnail**
**Visible confusion**
I think Ganondorf tasked Ingo with taming Epona
Yo siempre saltaba la puerta, no sabía que se podía saltar la maldita pared del rancho.
Any video with Epona in it I'm gonna watch lol. So I'm curious, since this video is about horses technically, what are you're thoughts on Ganondorf's iconic black and red stallion? The color palet(from what I looked up about horses) of solid black body and red mane and tail is apparently impossible, or has never happened naturally so I'm wondering if Ganondorf might have put some glamor/enchantment on his horse or created it with his own magic to suit his taste?
I don't care what anyone thinks, Twilight Princess is the *BEST ZELDA GAME EVER*
Correct
Damn yeah it is.
Yeah, we need a part 2 lol.
MM AND TP are the best imo
@Random Vids✔ ehh not really imo
3:01 omg that’s cursed
Plot twist Epona is foal to the horse we see Ganondorf ride at chasing after Zelda.
Think where is he get the horse from in the first place? Does the castle has its own stable? But it’s Armor doesn’t match the royal family, it matches him. But also surely the royal family got their horses from somewhere. And Epona is never seen to have parents at that ranch, she is the only foal there, even in the feature there is no other ones.
I can’t fully remember if the gerudo ever shown to own horses in the same. If not then he needed to have gotten it from somewhere.
This again could be by she was going to be given to him.
So Link has a thing for stealing horses connected to Ganondorf
Epona and those horses in breath of the wild that looked like Ganondorf’s horse
It’s not a BOTW 2 video but it’s all good because it’s about ocarina of time.
Under the Continental civil law, the property of mobile goods is only tranfered with the "tradition", i.e. when the good is physicaly given by the donor to the recipient. Therefore, Epona was still Ingo's before he gave it to Link.
Trust me, I'ma lawyer. 😎
Glad you used N64 version footage. Much better
thats not how future tense works. Epona would have been Ganandorfs...in the future. A plan that had not yet been carried out was prevented from happening
I haven’t been able to watch this yet.
Fun Fact: In the manga(not reliable but still exists) Epona is being taken away to Ganondorf when Link is looking for Impa.
Hold on checking my resources.
Possession is nine tenths of the law.
Just curious what you think. If a king of Hyrule had two daughters would they both be named Zelda , and more importantly would they both have sealing power.
Love it!
Yes oot I click when I see oot
I don't really like ocorana or mojora's mask because I could never get passed the first boss on ocorana and i had no idea on what i had to do at the beginning of mojora's
Gohma, right? It's been a couple of decades so I might be remembering the names wrong. The boss of the Deku Tree. It's been so long I forgot her stages and how to work through them, but you can probably find boss fight howtos on youtube. Majora's Mask is so confusing that even though I've played it several times I wouldn't know where to start walking someone through it. They do have walkthroughs online somewhere, but if you'd rather not do that I can understand why.
Yep it was the deku tree boss and i just had no idea on what to do on major's mask
@@seanraines8459 The Deku tree boss...if I remember, her first stage is where she's mostly on the ceiling, right? I can't remember how she attacks during it. If you decide to try it again, shoot her in the eye with the slingshot, then smack the crap out of her with your sword when she falls. The rest of her battle is the same general idea but there might be some variation like her dropping smaller enemies on you or something else. TP has a similar boss battle, but the specifics are slightly different.
In MM, I ran around and did shit until I figured out I was doing it all in the wrong order or repeating already done stuff, got frustrated and looked up a walkthrough lol. I did learn one vital thing from that experience: talk to the bombers (the group of kids that run around Clock Town) and do their quest(s) first, then go to the nearest owl statue and save your progress if you decide to revisit MM, the notebook and code you get out of it is a big help in keeping records of the stuff you've done. MM takes place over a repeating three-day cycle and the mainline quest is made entirely of what in other Zelda games would be considered side quests. Doing things in a certain order has an effect on other events, down to in-game times of day. It's one of the most fun migraine-inducing games I've ever played lol. Sad thing is I still need at least a walkthrough on hand for reference lol.
Edit:typo
I already knew this but i never heard of the gate i actually think i already tried to at first an it didn't let me
I never thought Epona belonged to Ganondorf. Ingo intended to present her to him but since that never happened Epona belonged to Ingo until he bet her in the race and lost. Otherwise Epona might be considered stolen property if she already belonged to Ganondorf and wasn't Ingo's to wager.
I remember something similar in an old episode of DuckTales. The Beage Babes (lesser known daughters of Ma Beagle) accidentally took Webby when they intended to steal a set of royal jewels from a museum Scrooge owned. They tried to trade her for the jewels but Scrooge lamented they were on loan from another museum and not his to give away. He otherwise would have traded them in a heartbeat but his nature of working in good faith with others wouldn't let him.
I would say that Epona was not yet Ganondof's but was intended to be his.
the deal was already intact.
I saw the name and was like; Possible OoT Manga reference?
Btw, in French it's pronounced "Fi" and not Fee so I suppose it's the same in English
A good horse once owned by an evil man
Wait you can jump OVER THE GATE HOW
keep with the shorter videos too!!
no, she was going to be ganondorf's horse. she never was
Ssssssssooooo... How long did you FINALLY realize that. 😐
I agree with the first 30 seconds. Great game. But not my favourite. Majora’s Mask is my favourite Zelda game. I think it’s better in pretty much every way.
Yes
interpreting something the way you want doesn't make it true. just saying you're gonna give something to someone doesn't make it theirs before the actual exchange happens, it's just wishful thinking before that point, a plan to do so, a future move. so no, Epona was never Ganon's horse. could've been, was meant to be, but never was.
Epona the Ganon-horse
Epona always comes back the way link Zelda and ganondorf return. The horse is as eternal as they are. Oh and beedle too
Incorrect, Ingo said he was going to present Epona to Ganondorf. The critical word here is "was". He never actually did present the horse To ganon, so Epona never did actually belong to Ganon.
Wow
That's really being semantical.
