Great recommendations! I just read Jentezen Franklin’s Spirit of Python! Great book! Highly recommend my bible study and i took 2 years on it thru a weekly study but on average of reading alone is the length of a normal book! God Bless!
Oh I love Jentezen Franklin - when I lived in GA I went to his church and it was phenomenal! Thank you for the recommendation I'll have to check it out!
I have "Feet on High Places", imagine this - I FOUND this book, someone had thrown it away (sad world we live in!). So this must be a sign that I was meant to read it (I haven't started yet). I could also recommend "Meet the Prophets - A Journey through the lives and the visions of the Old Testament Prophets". It's about prophecy, the end-times and our hope in Jesus.
There is a book called "Weak Love and Strong Love" . Even though it is mostly fiction, it could help a girl discern between confusing affection and deep affection. The book is by Hollie Jean Huff.
My favorite Christian romance is 'Christy' by Catherine Marshall. Christian History is explored in 'Operation Gladio: The Unholy Alliance between the Vatican, the CIA, and the Mafia' by Paul L. Williams. A classic: 'The Practice of the Presence of God' is a book of collected teachings of Brother Lawrence, a 17th-century Carmelite friar, 'The Hebrew Bible' is a splendid translation by Robert Alter, replete with puns, word plays, commentaries, and analysis of vowel pointing possibilities. Alter's 'The Art of Bible Translation' also covers syntax (word order), rhyme, word choice and dialect. Thanks for having this group. I enjoy the Hallmark tv series 'When Calls the Heart' and the books it is based on by Janet Oke.
