I think of how devastating that police station scene is. The look on his face during those few seconds of silence after he says he forgot to put the fireplace screen up is phenomenal but subtle at the same time.. you see this mixture of shock/horror/guilt/despair.. makes me want to watch his other performances.
Thought it was obvious which movie he was referring too lol. When I read “200 Cigarettes” in the comments and then saw the responses I actually laughed out loud and had to post my own comment.
Casey just aesthetically has that natural tortured look (sorry, just a lack of a better term atm) about him. He just fits very well. I couldn’t picture Casey as Will in GWH either.
i wish i could go back in time and stop myself from watching this movie because even after 2 years, i still can't stop myself from crying whenever i come across anything related to the greatest "Manchester by the sea"
Matt Damon could have done a great job in this film but after watching Andrew Dominik's Jesse James I am fucking rooting for Casey Affleck to kill this role.
Good guy. That’s being humble and also being honest at the same time. You can be happy for someone but still be allowed to have the regret of a missed opportunity.
I agree. Matt Damon is really very good but this movie was Casey's and he owned it like no one else could. I cannot see anyone else making it so perfect like Casey Affleck did. Matt Damon is so kind with all the things he says about the film. I'm sure he did want to be in it. He too is an Amazing Actor. Very genuinely wants the best for a great screenplay. A humble & kind gentleman.
matt damon being matt damon as matt damon staring matt damon. Casey affleck is solid when it's a Boston role... anyone notice micheal Shannon? he destroys with the severity of roles he does
+Ashley King you can see it at sundance mountain resort at 6pm this friday, and saturday at the egyption theatre in park city at 830pm, or sunday at the Rosewagner theatre in salt lake city at 12:15.
One of the most moving movies I’ve ever seen, just wish I hadn’t chose it on our first date .

“There’s nothing there.” 💀💀💀💀💀
I love Matt but Casey was sublime in this film. Heartwrenching performance. The stuff he didn't say ring louder than the words he did say.
I got that strongly too, so many times he had to use his silence to say what he wanted to say but couldn't.

I grew up in Manchester by the Sea, MA. It's such a special little town. I hope this movie is amazing
It is not as depressing as the movie makes it sound
Hey, im from the future, and yeah the movie IS really amazing
Must be nice in summer
Born and raised in Northern Spain. Loved your Manchester by the Sea, MA, and yes the movie was amazing.
Aaaand Casey won the Oscar for best actor for this role 😂
I just saw the movie and it was good. It’s hard to image Damon in the lead role - Casey was strong.

Matt damon is a good actor but there is no way he would have done the role justice
I disagree, Matt Damon can pull off any role, he is a very versatile actor. He would've done great too in my opinion.
@@Shaha33able Jason Bourne doesn't let his wife die like Casey did

Kitty Lynn Totally got tickets!!!! But to another movie........😢😒
wow he is so fit nice T-shirt
just been to see it at the VIFF. I would say the role suited Casey very well
can the camera guy include casey since damon is speaking about him?
Casey didnt wanna make the movie given the reason that "they had snacks now!". But the others told him that he had to go do it or they'd beat him up!
There is no way this guy would have done a good job on Manchester by the sea..
Casey is SUBLIME
Damon would have been great as the brother.
its so funny my hometown is called Manchester but that's in England.
+Leo where do you think we got the idea?

There would have been more yelling and explosions if Matt did this movie. Casey has more of an underdog little brother subdued acting style.
