thanks everyone. it's my torino! unfortunately I didn't get to do any testing this year after the winter changes. went into first round of eliminations untested but it worked out.
Bad ass Torino I have the same one 1970 Ford Torino gt 351c 4v and it white two I had it since I was 6 years old pass down now I am 30 years old great to see a Torino kicking ass
Glad you found the vid. Thanks for commenting. Nice runs. What is powering that thing?
@@DragRacingandCarStuff thanks for posting it, looks like its getting a lot of views!! It's a garage built fuel injected stroked big block ford with a c6 trans and a 3.50 geared 9in ford rear. I built everything on the car , engine, trans, headers, exhaust, rear, put the sequential fuel injection on and do all the tuning. I would love it if you would email me a copy of the video 2big2go@msn.com
@@wayneyutzy1668 428 or 429?

Man, seeing older cars still walking newer cars is literally the best sight to see from every oldschool lover.
I was just watching this video and cheering for the Ford, even though I am a Chevy Man by heart. Hard cheering for the Ford by Nature but I love to see any old school car on the road, and especially beating up new school cars like you said.
I just like older cars, Ford Chevy Mopar whatever, pre 1971. After 71 They ruined the designs completely, and horsepower went from 500 to 95. Now the performance of new cars are good but the bodies are too bloated and obese, That’s why hand built 1960s car resto mods are the best, $200K-$300k worth every cent. I wouldn’t even pay 10K for the new mustang camaro and chargers, too fat and bulky, cheap plastic interior, they drive like donuts and they weigh 4000lbs and you can’t see out the damn window. They can take their damn safety standards and shove em directly up their ass, I’ll only buy 60s classics! There is only 1 exception, 2020 Ford GT hyper car
@@coreyjenkins3056 same, I'm a Chevy manu by heart, but learned to cherr for ford more than dodge though because of all of the people thinking hellcats are the fastest things on the world.
@@cosmiccloud9382 I agree with you on that horsepower part 100%. I do love the way fords and chevys looks before and after 71, just not over 2000 that much. Just imagine if they wouldve kept the big ol engines pumping 400+hp in rest of them cars, now THAT wouldve been cool. Not sure if you're into the 80s caprice classic, but the 84 caprice weighs about 3,300 pounds and having that power would make that thing shine.

That Torino launching is a thing of beauty. Wow!
I’ve got a 71 Torino myself, launches just like that. Love it
@@rodyravioli3999, I wish I had one. I did own a 72 Gran Torino in the late seventies with the 351 Windsor. Sadly I was too young and dumb, traded it for a 79 Thunderbird Heritage. I miss that car still. I have great memories with it. Thanks for sharing 👍
Can't be mad I'm a Ford man and his reaction time is killer
The driver of the Torino has become one with the car. He can't possibly drive it any better.👍
Nice to see someone who can drive and set up a car!
That torino is pulling the front wheels off the ground. No telling how much HP he is pushing but that is one fast old Ford.
I keep saying, computers , electric fuel pumps and fuel injection just make cars a lot more complicated and expensive to fix....good example right there.
@@franciscorosa6358 that it is. All of newer cars needed more time to start. The combination of all of them needs one second to react.
Its just a short first gear
Gotta be in the 1000 HP range to trap 150 in a car that big/heavy.
@@danmyers9372 Ford 429 SCJ engine is damn close to 500 HP if tuned right. Factory rated at 375 HP for insurance purposes. What a joke.
The guy driving the Torino came to race. The car launches flawlessly. Notice how he actually leaves on the green. The guy in the white Charger was plucking his eyebrows when the light turned green.
Lol yes he did. Wasn’t expecting that from the Torino
Ever consider maybe he’s fairly new at drag racing? Possibly a new build? Possibly getting the tune right ? Not everyone has tons of years or tons of races under their belt. The Torino is a legit beast but I’m sure he’s a seasoned driver.
The Torino is a beast brooks should race him almost has the same times as his 765
@@x0xaprildawn It’s just a joke, just kidding. You know, that thing everyone used to be able to do before everyone demanded a trophy for exhaling after they inhaled. i.e. Breath.
😂fr
Love Torinos! This one's a fkn monster.
The old school 60 and 70's muscle cars are the best Hands down 👍
Totally agree, as the so called muscle cars of today ain’t got shit on old school muscle cars. 💯✌️
That Torino guys reaction time is on point
That Torino needs a parachute!
150 quarter mile, this car would embarrass a lot of new fast cars on the streets!
I just love those old Torinos🏁
Hurting feelings like that damn
Not only was the TORINO the fastest car there it was also the best looking who needs new anything its nice to watch the expensive cars get beet wonder whats under the hood
Hoooo-weeeee!
That Torino was cutting some mean lights!!
He had a car length in every race just because of his RTs!
The last race was awesome.
The guy driving that Torino has a really fast reaction time to the Christmas tree plus that car is unbelievably fast!
Killin them boys from the stripe.
Just shows you can be fast maybe even faster but you still gotta beat the driver. Yes sir
yessir
I'll never forget the 800+ mile road trip going south on I-75 back in 1970. My two cousins and I in a red 1968, 7.0 CJ Torino with vinyl seats, crazy putting vinyl seats in those cars.
The person racing in the Gran Torino is a Tree master!! 🏁🏁🏁
Old school Torino GT hauling ass. Would love to see a video on this car.

@@budz.47 Thanks. That 572 big block ford gets that car moving.
That was badass gotta love raw hp from that Torino!
That's a badass Torino, and driver combination. Doesn't look like a 9 second car which makes it even better.
That Torino is a great sleeper, there’s nothing that says it will run 9.3 @ 150 mph in the 1/4 mile plus the driver was on the tree on every pass.
the owner’s got one slip showing a pass at like 8.95 and 153 mph wow!
@@mikebockey4125 A W E S O M E !!
I want to know if he's running a JON CAUSIE Boss 429 engine ?
Gran Torino is a beast of vehicle and a well built machine, unique and like no other. Bring me so much nostalgia, my Dad had a 1980 such a classic machine and a comfortable ride, smooth and super fast. 😀 Best of the best!.👍
I'm in my early senior years and I have never seen a Torino get that good of traction and quarter mile time. Holy crap!
Not sure I have either 🙏
That Torino is a BEAST !
That Torino GT is quick
That Torino comes out of the hole like a boss, great reaction times too!
1/4 mile in 9.31 at minimum weight of 4200lbs puts it right around 1000hp
Yeah he caught guys sleeping. I'm a redeye owner but damn that car gots some nuts. Good runs
Gotta react quicker than that 🤣🤣🤣 the turino knew when to mash that peddle you "Procrastinators"
Just goes to show nothing better than old school oval !!
I loved this , what a car
LOVE that Torino! ate those others for lunch! way to go Ford!
That Torino rocks! I had a stock Torino Cobra that ran pretty good, but not like that!
My first car was a 69 Torino GT so I LOVE to see this! Man that driver is a monster! The car is fabulous but the driver is equally amazing!
Maaaaaannnn Y'all Can't Hang With That 7.0 428 Police Interceptor Engine .... FORD POWER 💥⚡💥⚡💥

@@mikebockey4125 no its a 460, im familair with the build!
Wow, I was rooting for that Big Torino. I had a 69 428SCJ, getting rear traction was really a challenge, it was up around 650 hp, but with so much torque. It's tough to get big rubber in the rear, mine had raised longer front fenders welded in... Looked better too. You see on the Torino how they are also smaller than the front. That beauty launches like a missile. So straight and true. Thanks, nice to see that. 👍
Good old school muscle car, stomping on the new muscle. Not even tubbed or overly modified. :)
Man driving the Torino is a great driver.
This channel is really underrated! Great content, keep the good stuff coming.🔥
Thanks!
My Brother-in-Law Harry had one of those Legendary Torino Cobras in 1970 and it went like bat out of Hell too. Our young nephew Evan has it now near Edmonton, Alberta. All numbers matching 4 speed and nothing missing. Very rare and Special. RS, Maj Ret, Alberta, Canada.
Omg seeing this vid brings back some memories I grew up dirt poor but but my grandpa won a torino in a poker game as a teen and gifted it to me on my 16th bday it was a 73 gt fastback had the 351 Cleveland royal blue matching interior I was young and dumb and sold it off but man I was the baddest kid on the block with that ride
SICK!!! It runs consistent 9.30s @ 150 MPH and launches like a Pro-Stock car!
Torino GT walking all over computer controlled car...gotta love it !!!
He beat most of you on the light, the last hellcat could have won, but he to was slow off the light. Good job ford.
Yeah he cut a .181 to my .284 thats where the race was won.
@@derekshamblin2965 yep, he beat you off the line. Good job though, I be taking my hellcat to the track at the end of the month.

big block cars with that Beast
There was no 351 CJ in 1970
@@goldenltd1970 you're right my mistake it was a 72 Gran Torino Sport
@@goldenltd1970 but I think you also might be wrong I believe the 1970 Mach 1 came with a 351 Cobra Jet also I believe it was offered in the cougar
@@goldenltd1970 Your correct, it was a 351 Cleveland or 351 Windsor , 428 Cobra jet
He beat every one of them at the line. Most important part of the race. The others were asleep
Absolutely brilliant
God bless u. U have it down 2 a science. Thxs 4 showing them. Hard 2 be old school
That is one wicked Torino with an exceptional and consistent driver. Caddy, If you want to drag race you'll need to go back to the drawing board. Otherwise stick with being second fiddle to Lincoln. Charger and Challenger, limp back to your trailers. You're quick, but not quick enough. You got spanked by some awesome and classic 'old' iron.
WOW That is amazing.
That is a bad ass Torino!
😄 Well balanced and super fast Torino GT. Thanks for sharing!
FYeah man! That's pure MURICA!
I'm thinking brooks is racing that Torino 🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔🤔👌👌👌👌👌👌👌😁😁😁👍👍👍👍👍👍
Would it be correct to say that the Torino is a 521+ cubic incher? With a little help from either Jon Kaase or Trick Flow, or both?
The guy driving that Torino is a heck of a driver he's fast off the line and hooks up those are nice cars I owned one now I own a hellcat Challenger
5.0 swap with K&N filter, E3 spark plugs really wakes that Torino up!
5.0 ??? where’d you get that idea
@@mikebockey4125 ??? where'd you get that question.
@@robwwhit3453, i got that question from your comment which implies that the torino is running a 302. which it is not.

So what's the skinny on the motor and drivetrain in the Ford? I see the NOS. Anyone?
Love it!..First On Race Day!
Old Torino leaves like a 2500# car! Well done on the setup.
That Torino GT sure surprised me it sure isn't stock I'll always root for the ford but I didn't think it was going to win
WOW! That Torino launches perfect! I'm dying to know if it's running a Cleveland or a 385?

Humillación del Torino a la nueva escuela genial! 👍🏻
That's the way it is baby old school!!!!!
A day doesn't go bye that I didn't miss my 1970 Fairlane 500.
That Torino smokes Hellcats like cigarettes!
Dialed in like Ma Bell on a fiber optic slingshot.
Can anyone tell me what power the Torino is making
i have never had it on the dyno. all i can say is it's been 153mph@4260 lbs in the 1/4
i need some info on this torino!
The Torino It's running with NITRO you can see it in the third race when it's cleaning the system
I'm a old-school lover and a FORD fan man
Is this 1/8th mile?
no this is 1/4 mile.. although i do wish it ran 150 mph in the 1/8 I'm glad it don't run 9's in the 1/8th.
Torino has a helleva hole shot!!!

No school like the old school
Great work out of the hole. That Torino really cleaned up at this drag strip. The Caddy was destroyed by the Fast n quick ford.
