@@saiquatabassum6321 - The show didn't really explain his motives either way. But it does expand the story of his relationship with Siena, or so I am told. That does give the impression that Anthony has control issues, since he seemingly can only handle a relationship where the power imbalance is vastly in his favor. Even more so than in an 1813 marriage. He needs to learn otherwise.
@@daniels7907 I agree. In the book tho he's very open about things. When he ends up with Kate, he openly tells her that all he wants is a sense of friendship and that love for him is not a possible thing (because of his whole issue with death). The show version of him is just not the Anthony from the book who is a whole lot more put together. I really didn't like the sienna thing because it messes with his whole character arc. I don't see how they will show him to not want love because of his death issues after he was oh so willing to be with sienna. And if they don't find a way to do that then I don't know how the conflict of Anthony's story (from the book) will turn out on screen. Agh

DUDE no I spent all of season one calling Benedict Kevin and Colin Nick because A) Colin immediately reminded me of Nick Jonas and B) I forgot Benedict’s name when they first said it and they proceeded to only call him Bridgestone for several episodes afterwards

I just finished the second book of this saga, which is about the love story of Anthony and Kate and I can say that I loved it! and I felt that emptiness and melancholy that we suffer when we read a book and we don't want it to end! I can't wait for season2!

How well he has brought Anthony to life! Jonathan Bailey is an incredible actor and human being too I suspect. Those punches will make Bond proud.

Mona Magdy Yeah trueee but then siena as a symbol of a love trauma wasn’t really needed either bc the mere act of anthony being indulgent in mistresses etc while cowering away from his responsibilities is quite telling enough of the trauma he already has, although it would have been vague to viewers it would have at least maintained an element of mystery which i think leads up well to his season and which is also so much better than adding the siena twist bc now they have highly misrepresented anthony’s character 😭 And on your last point, thats exactly why im annoyed bc they made anthony seem soooo in love with siena that unless the producers follow the book to a t, the passion between kate and anthony won’t even seem special anymore because its as if he’s already gone through true love before with siena when in absolute truth, anthony didn’t know anything about true love before kate!! so i guess moral of the story is the producers need to rein it in and let the book speak truthfully through the show😅
@@violet-ko2sk i can't agree more with you,but i am literally in love with Antony character ad i was very very upset with many changes they have already done to him in season 1 ,he never forced Daphne to nijel he was as supportive as protective to all his brothers and sisters,has a good relationship with his mother,there is a scene in eloise story when she was explaining to him why she run out, literally i broke into tears 💞 the best brother ever ,so i have to convince myself that everything is gonna be alright , many many new characters were added to the show may be for a reason 🙄,marina is in the books but she is in Eloise story (book 5)she was the first wife to sir Philip so the one who made these changes had read the whole books series and has a point of view to make these changes ,i hope they will give Antony what he deserve ♥️

The most implausible thing about the early part of the season was that Anthony even had time to make a nuisance of himself. That first ball especially. The room was filled with newly-debuted society ladies who had been trained from childhood for husband hunting. As Viscount Bridgerton (their father being deceased), and quite young and handsome, Anthony should have been as pursued by young ladies (and their mothers) as Daphne was by young men. Their turn about the room should have required Daphne to protect *him* as much as the reverse!
I think he didn't want to be married yet. He was with that opera singer sienna.
