Painting BMW R80/7 Seat

  • as i have a BMW R80/7 Ex police bike i only had a single seat and would like the full size one for when i go on a road trip, so i managed to get my hands on a cheap used one but it was in BLUE.
    in blue that will not do
    so rattle can time

    Have you found that Hammerite is not quite what it used to be. The 'new' Hammerite seems to 'curdle' if you use petrol thinning (like we used to do) and it looks a bit weird when you use petrol to wash out brushes too, but then, if you use the 'new' thinners with the old Hammerite, that's all a bit curdely and weird too. It's mucked me right up because I've got old stuff, and new stuff, and the new stuff doesn't seem to give an enduring protection like the old Hammerite did anyways.
    I am going to cut my losses and move to Rustoleum combi colour direct to rust paints. I had sworn-by and used Hammerite for 40 years until this point.

      🤔🤔🤔 not that I have noticed maybe I will inspect one of my cubs see how the paint has held up over the years
