Awesome video. Brings back many memories. Thank you!
Thank you very much. This is a unique comment.
The voice of champions league. This commentator made u feel the champions league mood
English commentary is beautiful. It makes the game lively
Clive Tyldesley
Has he retired?, would much prefer him on Sky
MY EXACT THOUGHTS as i was revisiting this gem, cheers !
“Inzaghi was born offside.”
Ferguson’s greatest quote 😂
🤣🤣🤣
Savage
Yeah football people definitely aren’t funny and you confirm that
@@TheKingOfBeans i bet you’re fun at parties
@@TheKingOfBeans you look like the least funny here
@@TheKingOfBeansYou have "ANUS" in your description, can you tell who is less funny?
Roy Keane with a captains goal. What a player he was.
Exceptional player. With ability to play any position, as good as the natural player of the particular position
Wwf
@@santumondal5501 what about the wwf?
Player from a heart
undoubtedly one of the best games of football ive ever seen. the battle between keane and zidane was epic
Keane turned out the hero. 1999 was his best year, If you would ask him
Those were the days when we could mop the floor with the best in the world at least we have brilliant memories hopefully Manchester United will rise from the ashes
Yes, it is going to happen very soon
I don't think soo pal
They were hardly mopping any floors lol. Juve and Inter were a mess that season, MU very fortunate to beat Bayern.
Ole and Teddy don't call their goals fortunate against Bayern. It's going to be tough to get back to the glory days. A hard-nosed Irish or English midfielder is key. We don't have that yet.
O@@jackmurphy6864
Absolute legend team this 99 side. Giggs, Keane, Scholes, Beckham, greatest midfield combination ever.
Manchester United was awesome to watch. You could predict the results easily
I'm not a United fan but what a team this was, you forget just how good Yorke and Cole were together. Probably one of the best strike partnerships ever tbf.
Indeed. They were very compatible pair
People may not remember, but from '96 to '00 Juve were THE team to beat. Even in '99 United and Bayern were probably tied for 2nd best in Europe, and Juve were 1st. Makes this win for United that much more significant.
Yes, Juventus was so dangerous in all aspects
A watershed moment in Sir Alex’s MU team they started to believe they could beat anyone. Respect from a lifelong Juventus supporter.
The physicality back then, way more intense than the game now.
100 % agreed
beckham got battered alot in those days. Edgar Davids' foul is a red nowadays
alot easier these days but city and liverpool fans will tell you different
@@eezxp6843they play roughly
Forever etched in my memory.A glorious period in United's history
We really miss the moments
Was there that night broke a rib when the 3rd goal went in..went down 3 rows of seats ...thout I had broke my back.....but it was worth it
🤣🤣🤣
Crazy memories there
Yorke’s performance in that match was underrated. He was immense
So glad it's the original commentary
👍✍️
How I wish I could go back to April 21 99
It was a very nice moment to be alive
Beckham's curtains hairstyle was everything
this is the football I knew
FIGHT all day long
This is the time when you would know the results before kick off
Da milanista ancora vi ringrazio, grazie
I watched this live in the pub and after Juve scored their second, said, “If it’s any consolation, there’s 80 minutes left!” Never envisaged we’d actually pull off the win.
What’s more surprising is that we won the final without the great Paul Scholes and Roy Keane in midfield! Shows the depth of talent we had then. 😊
Butt and Blomqvist were still talented, remember in this match, Scholes came from the bench also.
@@bestfc100 I think it was Nicky Butt who kept Edgar Davids quiet: no mean feat!
Amazing Treble year. I either watched on tv or listened on radio to all the matches that year. From the Premier League, Fa Cup and Champions League. Woo! Talk about an insane run.
Very fantastic showdowns
I don't think Beckham get the credit he deserves, not only for this match, but many others.
Beckham was always running, always willing etc - his contribution to this side, because of his media stuff, was always underestimated, but he was immense for our badge.
In that era, both him and Keane personified what it means to be a Utd player.
They were all fantastic, a long way from where we are today unfortunately.
But I have hope that we can recruit players that want to perform like that for us.
The recent events at OT with Hoijland, Garnacho and Mainoo sitting on the sidings with glee is a glimmer of hope.
They look like they really want to succeed.
I asked on another platform why Becks wasn't given titles like MBE, etc.
Guys were laughing at me, saying that he didn't achieve anything
@@bestfc100 Well, I'm sure the guys that said that don't have CL, PL, Cup medals filling up their back pockets !!
York and Cole 🔥🔥🔥🔥
That pair terrorized teama mercilessly
If I was to choose a favourite football match, this would be an option.
Its certainly my favourite of the 1998/9 season.
Indeed, people who lived in those years, most of them chose to support Manchester United
The whole year was wild. Crazy seria a, la liga, Bundesliga. And man u everywhere:) I cried when they left Mya barca in group stage, then I was on inters side becouae of r9 and baggio, still manutd won. Then I was on juve because of barca and inter. Then final. I wanted bayern to win , cause of , barca, inter and juve. And Ole gunar and teddy 😂
You had a very complicated wishlist 🤣
@@bestfc100 I was 12 years old ))
FA Cup semi final against Arsenal, 2nd leg - beat that!
People inevitably go on abpit liverpools 2005 win but this must be the best ever comeback by an english team in europe. 2 nil down away from home and winning 3 2 by completely outplaying Juventus on their own ground. Ive never seen anything like it before or since. Extraordinary.
This was the unwritten history which deserved a better praise
I was there. First 30 minutes it was Juventus who were the best team and from then on Manchester United took control. Juventus in the second half were flagged an offside against them on Inzaghi. It was a mistake by the referee because Inzaghi was not offside. An entertaining match and a classic for Man Utd supporters.
Gone are the days when united was the most respected team n it's what makes it to be the king of comebacks
Sir Alex knows the secret, he keeps it under water
Absolutnie widowiskowy mecz w którym po murawie biegało mnóstwo naszpikowanych piłkarskich gwiazd.
Beckham ❤Scholes, Keane, Gigs, Gary Neville, Schmaicher, Cole, Yoorke, Sheringhham, Solskaier. .
W Juventusie Zizu ♡ Inzaghi, Del Piero ♡ , Edgar David 🎉.
True, Manchester United will rise again. No doubt. The omen is good
The first moment that i fall in love with man united
Inzaghi was born offside....
😅
Only takes 1 time to score
I knew the result yet…what a thriller
Reminds me again why I can’t stand to watch the current footballers
That squad pulled several comebacks, something that current team can only do Luton and Nottingham
I watched this game while doing an exhibition with work the venue was inside the main stand at Aintree racecourse , small screens were scattered around the room which normally would be for the horse racing however someone had asked for the game to be on !! The atmosphere was superb and quite a lot of Reds and some Everton lads loved the game obviously the Liverpool fans didn't, a very surreal night and massively memorable as a lifelong Red. 👹
Wow, very nice memories there, well described
Awesome memories
Thank you
Roy keane man of the match and a goal
Sure, he was
Im a Liverpool fan but watching the partnership of Dwight York and Andy Cole brings a smile to may face.
Although i hate United 😡
Cole and Yorke were such a good combo.
Inzhagi was like the Italian Lineker. Pure goalscorer.
Mizuno Pro si boots. I had a pair years ago and don’t know where they went. Lovely boots.
Yorke and Cole were a perfect cocktail
i remember this game, what mentality and grit manu showed, juve were an incredible team, an amazing result from a Spurs fan
2:21 The commentator really called Yorke and Cole goal twins, and he was right, these 2 guys were a bomb in that treble -winning season .
Two great teams. The best of that years. I miss that guys.
They were fantastic
love watching united in current situation, enjoy it boys
never forget thatvujited went to the final without the two best midfielders in the prem
I know,
And still won it
Still brings a tear to my eye
🤣🤣🤣
All shall be well
I was there! 25yrs ago and I can't believe how fast time has gone!
Time flies as Man United form also vanishes
Same as. Attended every c / l games home & away
@paulbraine674
You are one of the luckiest human beings ever lived.
It's quite obvious that both those teams would get utterly destroyed by any of the top 7 or 8 current Champions League teams. Their style of play and the amount of time they had on the ball was definitely old school and well before the Spaniards revolutionized the game.
When Man U was Man U !!! I miss these days
Football was football as well
Great match (for UTD)!! Couldn’t believe my eyes 😳😳. King Cole!!!
Same here 😅
I know we will come back again ❤❤ Manchester United for life
Once great, ever great
Not with Bruno
@emphasisengineering 😂😂😂
Cole & Yorke .... Duet Striker the best
Dangerous combination
I remember this match. Inzaghi is the real predator
He met the real witch of the game
Class game, amazing comeback, United forever.
Absolute classic legends
Even here Zidane shined. My favorite ever player. At that moment I supported Man U until I discovered Zidane. This game has been the greatest Man U game in their history.
Sure, it was
I was there never forget that game we had a great day there
You are among the few lucky people to ever live on earth
Seriously..howe good was keane??...just a pure warrior.!
He was phenomenal, I'm working on his video. It will be an interesting one
this is one of the best football games which i have seen in my lifetime.
It was full of legends, individual brilliance played out candidly
Obviously Roy Keane
He was the epitome of everything
What a time to be alive
God is good
Pippo Inzaghi was a menace for any defenders.. his career span was so long in top flight. from early 90s till 2010 scoring brace against Real Madrid
Exactly. He's one among few lads who were fortunate enough never to encounter horrible injuries along his career path.
@@bestfc100 He did in April 2004.. had to miss Euro 2004 and Bernardo Corradi replaced him. Italy got out of the group on GD
Wah, this was sad. But I hope it didn't keep him out for long
2nd goal: superb volleyball smash from Peter!
Sure, that was fantastic
Scholes couldn’t believe his yellow…. These days it’s a red all day, and probably rightly so
Sure 😀
I was 19 that time... perhaps if i watched for the first time at over 60 ill immediately get heart attack 😂
Why 🤣
Inzaghi omg
He was marvelous
Felt so so sorry for Roy missing the final😢
He deserved to miss. He was so dirty in the semi finals 🤣
@@bestfc100 deserved?? Really,
He really worked hard in tackles, especially against Juventus midfielders, Zidane, Conte and Davids
Honestly watching this game brings back memories and also made me realise that in todays game with var neither team would have finished with more than 8 men lol today
Lol 🤣😂
Few tackles in there that would be reds nowadays, also, it shows where Var is good now, as some of the offside decisions were a joke.
🤣
Don't talk about Inzaghi offsides please. He was a specialist
That Scholes' tackle on Deschamps that earned a yellow card was vintage Scholes
🤣🤣
Should’ve been a red
Goosebumps
THANKS
Wrong photos for thumbnail. United wore the red Champions League kit that night. Not the 1996-98 red home shirts.
Eih 🤣
10:09 class from andy cole to overlap york as back up
7:51 I can only quote Sir Alex on the amount of times Inzaghi found himself offside.
“Filippo Inzaghi was born offside!”
🤣🤣🤣
Monster keane
Keane was a warrior
Young flippo inzaghi quick, fast, sharp and alert striker.
This was like the final before the real final, ManU vs Bayern Munchen 🎉
Yes, this was tougher
Epic game
I miss this United
It's sad that this team will never come back again
It's funny how no one is talking about how good and important was yorke and Cole in that 😊
They rarely enjoy the credit they deserve from the level of performances they portrayed during their prime
Football....bloody hell
🤣
Juventus were hard to beat in that era between 1996 to 1999, united needed a miracle back then to beat them
Sure, with Zidane and Del Piero in the team. It was tough
Comeback kings its in the blood
Yes, they mastered the art many years ago
I am fans if pippo inzhagi😊
Good choice 🤣
I remember this game stress wasn't a word more like heart failure hope the great times come again...... for younger fans when I became a Utd fan in early 80s we were where we are now
You mean we should give the team 40 years to revive?
As if football will ever be this good
We must be about the same age then.. United since '83!
My MOTM was kean roy done great even after he got the yellow plus the goal he scored
ref was against utd as well, cole not offside at all, foul not called
I somehow agree with you
If only we got Zidane after that year. Maybe we would have defended the Champions League.
Really?
Love it or hate it, players just play harder back then.
Yes, they fought for the badge, not for the salaries
Это был тот самый, великий Манчестер.
.. city’s treble was soo anticlimactic compared to ours
True dat
full speed ahead barcelona . favourtite verse
🤣✍️
The commentary was amazing...
Thank you
This just shows what a joke of a team we have at the moment and to be honest for a good decade. The will to win and fight and scrap has gone completely.
Today, we struggle to beat Southend
Utd scored 3,hit the post twice and both Yorke and Cole had great chances to score. At the time I thought the game was much tighter. Ref was pretty poor. Yorke cynically being pulled down just outside the box and no booking for the Juventus player!
VAR was needed here
The Best Season Man UTD, Treable Winner EPL, FA Cup, Champion
Courtesy of Ole Gunnar
inzaghi 2nd was pure luck, no idea why he celebrate so hard
🤣🤣
I cannot believe I am seeing 😊😊Ancceloti
ferguson retired and he's still around 😱
Maybe I'm getting old but football was so much more exciting back then.
Sure 😊
Today, young players feed on wheetabix, the fear getting injured
Nah, Paul Lambert had Zidane in his pocket when Borussia Dortmund beat Juventus 3-1 in the 1997 CL Final.
The two Manu strikers were playing for each other.
Sure, they were brothers keepers
Sir Alex Ferguson also made it without them also...
Amazing games played by them....the players could die for the club ....
Yes, the leadership of Roy Keane on pitch was outstanding
It feels bad to see the 'Devil' losing it's throne
Sad but we shall be back. Trust me
❤
Sedulous
Zidane angry at Pippo will continue in ucl final 2003 and world cup 2006 and Pippo won it both 😂
🤣🤣🤣✍️
Ancelotti was very young at that time .
Yes, he had just retired
