Was not too much to take in. . . in fact, I was waiting for a demo of the external radiator in use! Enjoyed the video though.

I dont care what anyone says about sffpc + external rad setup. I think it makes watercooling easier to setup and maintain and god damn are these some sexy systems :)
Externally dependent (new word, you like?) builds only ever make sense if it's possible to reasonably effortlessly disconnect and reconnect the external portions for the sake of something like packing into a backpack or smt. If you cant just pop it off and on with ease, then from all practical perspectives, you've failed. Go buy a bigger case that fits everything
hmmm, its very rare that I would haul my pc around though. Thats why I also have a laptop. Typically most rads don't really fit into cases that well. You end up with a ton of dead space. People dont really even use multiple pcie slots anymore so why even go atx. I think its just cleaner, doesnt collect really any dust, easy to updgrade if your going watercooling, can handle any load you throw at it at like full silence and is just a lot of fun. I have a ghost s1 with top rad. Have some quick disconnects going into triple 280s in another room. Been a joy to use but yeah you definitely have to spend time setting it up at first otherwise its kind of cumbersome. @@AndyU96

It looks nice. I've no plans to review this. I can only cover cases I'm sent due to financial constraints.
Nice setup. I have two questions:
1.- how do you power the external pump+ fans?
2.- Could it be possible to invert the position of the internal radiator and connect it directly to the 5-way ball fitting?
I think you could directly connect the internal radiator to the 5way ball fitting (though I doubt the ports would line up perfectly). But only on the ball fitting that has the fluid from the external rad coming in. Otherwise, connecting both would allow fluid to bypass the external rad.
The video shows "PEN-8X1,25" printed on the tubing suggesting it's PE tubing, but the description says PUN-H-8X1,25 (i.e., Polyurethane). I've never done a custom loop before (but want to give that a try), so I'm curious if the material of the tubing matters. I've read that plasticizer in certain material (e.g., PVC) can be a problem. Not sure if that's something we need to worry about here?
PEN works, but PUN-H is typically recommended. I ordered the wrong one. PEN is slightly less flexible, I believe
Sick build. One note... Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure you aren't supposed to mix two different types of pumps in a loop. DDC with a D5. I could have sworn I read somewhere that the head pressure and flow rate difference can cause weird issues.
The internal pump can be turned off via Quadro, some motherboards ig. This is also a common setup. Running multiple pumps is never bad thing, especially in flow restricted loops. I've spoke with very experienced users, who daily these type of setups and confirmed there are no concerns. Thanks for feedback and reaching out.

In your current configuration there's nothing stopping the internal case liquid flow from travelling past the "outlet" quick disconnect, and recirculating within the case.
Instead if a ball valve were used in place of the check valve, it would ensure the flow doesn't split.
It does work. That's the purpose of the check value. It only allows one way flow through the loop, with direction marked by the arrow. It is a more convenient solution than a manual ball valve, which would require opening the case and messing around when connecting/disconnecting the external radiator. I will take your comments on board and will ensure it's better explained next time.
OK so the check valve seems to be orientated right to left, if looking from outside the case.
There's nothing stopping the internal liquid flow from travelling straight past the right quick disconnect fitting, travelling through the check valve in the correct direction (right to left), and then continuing back around the internal case loop... never touching the external radiator?
@BenXCIV the CPU block has an inlet and outlet. The loop only flows one way. It's a simple solution. Don't connect the external pump to the wrong way round at the rear of the case. There's an Intel and outlet port. Just like there's an inlet and outlet on the external pump. If you continue to believe it doesn't work, it's probably not for you. Alternatively, just use a ball valve if you're concerned. The fluid enters the case from the external radiator on the side of the case where the check value that stops it just going straight through the check valve and out the case back into the external radiator. Check valves only allow flow one way.
OK, I see how the check valve ensures the external radiator flow runs through the case.
However, the check valve doesn't stop the liquid within the case from potentially recirculating through the case instead of travelling to the external radiator.
I have this case and external radiator set-up, I'm not being a hater - just trying to fuel this niche interest.
@BenXCIV Okay, that is a valid question. There's no way to 100% validate if or by how much is being recirculated through the internal rad, without testing the two options side by side. A check valve vs. ball valve comparison. Liquid is, however, entering and existing via the external ports and increasing the internal pump speed increased flow to the external res. Same with increasing the external res. This could be down the the Check Valve being more restrictive than the QDC, so liquid is typically taking the easiest path. A small compromise, for convenience. @Harmo1996 Actually he is right the word Pneumatics (comes from Greek origin word πνεῦμα pneuma 'wind, breath'). In which the p is pronounced!!
