  • A sunny 58 degree day in mid November were perfect conditions to find a cut and use the PI to locate deep targets at low tide. A real fun 3 ½ hours of detecting....
    Put your settings at 1080 High Definition and watch in full screen!

    I found a ring similar to that, was class of 42, when he graduated he went to war. He found his way back and I found his ring in a box of junk someone gave me at a local flea market. I have since found him and returned it. Was amazing to see his reaction

    I love watching these water detecting videos especially those pulse detectors. I love the sound of them compared to the annoying beeps of their vlf counterparts. I am very fascinated by PI detecting and hope to take it up some day living in Michigan I am surrounded by the great lakes and 300 years of history.

    I forgot to add, I feel like the pied piper of Hamelyn at the beach, but, instead of rats I end up with anything from two to ten and sometimes more kids. It's a bit of a worry these days, some of them won't go back to their mothers. Don't want any finger pointing at me. Most mums or (moms) in your language think it's great that I'm minding THEIR kids lol. It's all very well until you get that rotten little blighter that insists on getting in your way no matter what I say to discourage them. Oh well it's all fun I guess. Cheers again. First thing you do when you find a gold ring is start jumping up and down screaming. Then you go to the nearest pawn shop and get it appraised by a scumbag. Then forget about pawning, you get 5 dollars more if you sell it. Take the 20 bucks and buy some beers and smokes and go home and celebrate 1 hell of a hunt.

    Hello DetecterComparisons, this message is to you or anyone with knowledge about PI detectors. I have a DFX and have found many great finds on the beach. However i wish to go deeper in the wet sand. I'm at a crossroads between two detecters . The TDI PRO or the SURF PI. I really need someone with experience on this subject and not just a sales rep's opinion. Its hard to fathom the SURF PI going as deep or being a better unit than a TDI. Considering WHITES makes both of them with such a major price difference. Someone please share your knowledge and experience. Thanks

    • @DetectorComparisons
      @DetectorComparisons  Před 6 lety

      The TDI Pro is much deeper. I have used both side by side. Even with the 17" coil at full sensitivity with an open screen, the CTX can't hear nickels at 18" like the TDI Pro. The downside is you're digging everything with the TDI Pro so there is a trade off.

    So if I understand this right, a pulse induction type detector would potentially be better if I was actually *speficially looking for iron*? Where I live most treasures are of historical value rather than actual monetary value, iron and such is just as important, if not more important than some ol' coins or jewelry. Trying to find out what kind of detector would be best suited for that - but everyone's always obsessing about the jewelry, no way to find information on actually finding iron specifically... Any thoughts?

    • @DetectorComparisons
      @DetectorComparisons  Před 8 lety +1

      If you want a detector strictly for depth and you don't care about discriminating out iron, then a pulse induction (PI) detector is your best bet.

      I've just had a play with a CTX3030 on the beach courtesy of a friendly fellow detectorist. He reassured me that discrimination with this Pulse Induction machine is possible to the point that he can program it to only see £1 coins (UK) and nothing else (for example). Maybe this is what you get for your £2K?

    • @DetectorComparisons
      @DetectorComparisons  Před 8 lety

      The CTX3030 is not a pulse detector so you can set it to discriminate whatever you want. PI detectors go substantially deeper.
