I have been Metal Detecting/Treasure hunting since 1973. Started out with BFO detectors where you dug everything with zero analytics. Now, almost 50 years later the detectors are computerized and even waterproof!
Most of my hunting has been in the North East but the hobby has taken me down South and outside of the USA.

In Minelab’s recent update for the Manticore, they added an audio boost that makes a big difference with waterproof headphones. I loosely fitted a set of Gray Ghost Amphibian headphones over a db meter and the boost feature clearly works well! Squeezing the headphones tightly onto the db meter, they register over 90db with the boost on!

If I'm wrong, tell me but I have a beach hunter by whites. I don't want to use it anymore because nobody can fix it if something happens.
Check with Garrett Electronics, looking online it appears they will provide service for Whites metal detectors
Great dive hunt Carter!! I really enjoy your dive videos. Congrats on great finds and beautiful rings!
Hello!!Great video, again!!Sorry i'm asking here, but your opinion weighs a lot.My Excal is geting realy old and soon i'll be needing a new detector.I love the Excal, but everyone seems to be moving on to new and better ones.If you had the resources just to buy one, which one would it be?Thank you!!
The Excal has been my go to dive machine for many years because it is simple and reliable. After having this one successful dive with the D2 in an area that I've hit hard with the Excal, I am definitely going back in the water next week trying the D2 again. Too soon to make the Excal permanently my number 2 machine, I am excited about working the same area again with the D2
Thank you!!!Only thing i'm afraid of is diving with a display machine in rough waters and rock bottom. The Excal is really tough.
well played Carter// the D2 slaying the well hunted spot DEF tells you there is MUCH more there!!! ocean or bay? def salt or brackish based on the decomp on the brass/etc
@@davemiller8215 open ocean, 100% salt water. Can't wait to get back there!
What state was this? CONGRATULATIONS!!!
I'm trying to find a 12inch detectorpro underwater replacement coil.
Metal detectors have been discontinued for a while but the underwater metal detector used to use a NEL 12" coil
@@cpennington4368 that's what I'm looking for.
really like your videos-good info that comes along with them. I'm curious if you've used the manticore diving and if so which do you prefer? Thanks for the adventure
Haven't taken the Manticore diving yet but I would like to try that sometime
Awsome video I'm hyped. I know a spot someone lost a gold chain about 6ft under water. Is it possible, or do you manually ground balance u while under water?
Quick question what are you using for power on the electrolysis? How many volts and Amps/mA does it use. Or what ever the unit of power it uses? I got confused and stumped myself for a second there 🫤. It's volts and amps I believe right. Anyway I noticed it seemed hot as it bubbled instantly when you dropped the gold ring in
@@steveallen984 if bubbles instantly because there was a lot of baking soda in the water so the conductivity was high. Any 12-volt Transformer works fine just be sure to put the good Target on the negative and the scrap metal on the positive
I really enjoy the 9" coil. good separation and still pulls the deep targets
I was a tester of this product. I enjoyed it very much. Really comes in handy. I hate trying to balance the detector on my hip. Looking forward to attaching it to a belt for beach hunting even the waist belt for waders when water hunting. Great product Carter.
Cool thanks!!!!
Awesome idea on the hip holder. All of us think of something like this, but it never gets past an idea. I need one, especially for beach hunting where you stand to dig and need both hands
Nice. I never let go of my machine while digging a hole. To each their own..
As a early tester of the Hip Hanger, I can tell you that it works nicely, as he said in the video avoiding bending down is big and that will help when I am in England detecting helping save my back during an 8hr day of hunting. There are some advantages not mentioned in the Video, no more detector rolling away on a hill or any issues getting up from the ground in rough terrane or having an extra hand available to answer the Cell phone or take a picture. It’s never in the way or restricting. Get one !
You had lots of cool finds, like the victorian era ring!! It looks like such a fun day under the water! I had never heard of a brass swim buckle before, and I also didnt know that Silver Dimes would do that in the salt water. (I dont get to search salt water areas very often 😆) I just love watching diving videos, and I love the fanning method and how it reveals the treasure. Great Job with the video and Thank You for bringing us along!
Wrap it around your shaft..... That's what she said!
Thanks for this awesome fix
Great idea thanks
Can't keep getting on my knees for every signal especially if they are shallow. The problem was keeping the detector balanced while standing and digging with two hands. Don't have to worry anymore about the detector slipping off and hitting the dirt. Been using mine for a couple of months now.
What fun. What depth are you considering as deep in those conditions? Any possibility there are even deeper targets just out of detectability?
Picking up the swim buckles over a foot and the coins are sounding good at about 10 inches. Always hard to tell when digging in sand and rocks because the hole is constantly caving in
Awesome hunt thanks!!!!!!
Wow may have to get a set of those thanks!!!!!!!
Wow those 2 gold rings are beautiful. Congrats to both of you guys. Great spot for metal detecting for sure.
The BEST! gosh I need to try out the xp underwater. things doing great. loved the video sir. I hope you have a great rest of your week!
Are the numbers consistent on a deep target and a shallow targets
Absolutely. I find that the numbers are extremely accurate on both deep and shallow targets. On deep targets the numbers will read almost identical when the Target is out of the hole.
I use the same setup just with the bone conduction headphones , try the 11x13” coil I alternate between that and the 9” coil. Also the beach sensitive using pitch tones loves small gold earrings and thin women’s rings . Love your videos .
Wouldn't using a pin pointer speed up recovery rather than fanning & limiting visibility? another great vid Carter!
Digging into that sand clay mixture is what clouds everything up, the Fanning actually helps clear it up. Not a huge fan of the pin pointers underwater, all personal preference because I know people that love them
Scrubba dub dub, more gold in the tub ! Very nice clean up of the finds.
awesome hunt! NH Beach Metal Detecting said you have the best channel on Utube! love your videos! we had really good luck the last few weeks with the xp2!
Glad you like the dive videos! Thanks
Awesome hunt. What size coil do you like in that scenario?
I started out using the 11-inch coil because I like the coverage and the depth. I might try the 9-in coil if I get into an area with more iron trash but for now I'm happy with the 11
I always look Forward to your videos 👍
Not sure if you have tried the bone conducting headphones but they are awesome 👍🦀 great hunt!
Personal taste, I like having the full headphones. Tried the bone and it wasn't my thing. Been underwater metal detecting now 41 years, you know what they say about Old Dogs
@@cpennington4368 Agree definitely preference. Always watch your videos and respect your knowledge. ATB👍🦀
Deus2 is really a amazing machine for undetwater use im metal detecting for living and hands down the deus 2 is the best underwatet detector i used so far
Love your videos but especially the dive videos. Nice finds and looked like the Deus II was living up to its reputation.
I really like your videos. As a person who used to dive (I'm too old now) I want to see diving, not chit chat. That's what you are giving me. Thank you!
👍🏻
Been waiting for your dive with the D2. Great vid and great machine. Like you said, fantastic accurate vdi at depth and stable. Happy Hunting!
Awesome finds! Thanks for taking us along. Not to question your technique but just curious as to why you do not use a pinpointer? I think it would vastly cut down your recovery time, especially once the item is out of the hole.
I used to use a pinpointer but I find it cumbersome. Some people like them underwater all the time but I'll use them only if the visibility is non-existent
Fabulous video. I love how Carter shares signal numbers
this reminds me of the Sunray Xprobe that goes on top of the etrac and Explorer series...now in a headphones. does this give low iron tone?
Can we please get a coil option for the best pi detector there ever was????
I've been watching your videos for years. For the life of me I can't understand how you're not all over social media in the detecing community. Between the live finds I've watched you dig on land & diving, to the knowledge, use and settings of a large number of detectors it just baffles me how your videos aren't everywhere? Sheeze SMH BTW I was sold on the uniprobe watching you use it digging some of the deep targets that I've watched you pull up and even though you were using it I could sense how smooth it seemed to feel and how accurate it was pinpointing deep. Thanks for all of the videos you have made hopefully you have time to record a few more in the near future. 👍😎
Thanks for the kind words yes I've been told I really need to get out there more on social media. Some Die video should be coming soon. Thanks again for watching!
I've seen this in person, and it's awesome 👍🏼
I'm constantly getting 10 on VDI underwater, does it mean it's falsing ? just like when the settings is too high on nox 800 giving -6 on VDI.
Great product that I have been interested in since it was released. Situation awarenesses is a must for me so if these ever become available in the RATTLER version SOLD!
We can customize a rattler version
Love my pair! quality headphones that are now my faves. I loved my White's pro star headphones before getting this pair. comfortable and great sound. the probe is the added bonus! Thanks Carter! keep up the great work!
This is the most exciting item I’ve seen introduced to the detecting community in years-I love the control it gives me to turn it on and off, the depth is superior, and the fact that no one else can hear it except me is a great advantage for low profile hunters like myself. ❤ I love my UniProbe ❤!!!
I agree totally! I love the advantage of having a low profile probe during my group natural hunts.
My favorite 👍🦀
