    visionshaper shouldve always been an insanity based oath its literally messing with your opponents sanity not only in the game but even outside never understood why this wasnt a thing when it came out

      Blindseers literally already sanity and insanity based, you give your sanity away as part of the oath as the reason they're opposites is because blindseer is illuding yourself and visionshaper is illuding other

      I mean insanity is now a thing that some builds preform better WITH so it's kind of just whether the person you're fighting takes advantage of insanity or they don't

    This is actually the best idea i've seen for deepwoken, i clicked on this video expecting a guy that's mad because visionshaper is just an oath for mages to be overpowered. But no. These suggestions are perfect as they would fit in for the lore and would actually be way more fun to play around with, the nestmind literally tells you to "ripen" their prey for them. And the insanity part of deepwoken is actually really REALLY undermined like getting insane should actually have a price and not make you shiver every once in a while, with these changes insanity would be important. In conclusion, Great video!

    Insanity needs a rework 100%
    It would make the game so much scarier. Perhaps different variations of sanity could appear. (e.g. NLK would influence you to see fake players)
    (e.g. Mindbreaker potions would start to spawn fake mobs.)
    It would all be percentage-based, and certain sources would guarantee specific effects. Idk, I’m probably overcomplicating it. Even so, multiple/varying effects of insanity would be neat. *Off Topic* Once Layer 3, Voidtower, and Conquest drop, I hope there’s more chance of wiping. Right now the perma-wipe system isn’t really an issue.

    ALSO! I think Visionshapers should go for insanity based battles, i’m talking like “Lets sink into the depths of insanity, together!” And both players just go insane the more the enemy is slapped by the illusion clone, and the more the user uses their abilities.

    They should make more mantra modified by oaths, visionshaper could make so gaze brings in you in illusionary realm for a split second and you just see thousands of mobs attacking you (it deals no damage but makes the stun longer)

      @@K-ream gaze causes the instanisty shiver stun with invisible projectiles but doesn't actually give insanity, while glare does a straight stun, so either way it could work.

    One good example of clones imo was the peroxide illusion shikai, you have a move that forces all of your clones to do the last move you used before that.
    Or just mirage clones from apex legends.
    The insanity changes you talked about and the domain expansion seem really cool and i would like to see them in the game.

    I play visionshaper royally and there are some points i would like to make in this video
    The insanity mechanic for the clones are a great feature to add, especially if the clones do insanity on hit, the clones having a low amount of hp do sound like a bad idea as that will just make them a lightning clone or a bandit from erisia and if they do a mantra that has a long windup or startup it'll be even worst, maybe if you hover over your clone and press your mantra they can therefore do the mantra and then it'll be put on CD, having low hp will make them a breeze especially heavy builds who do a lot of damage and hyperarmor through the clones
    Clones should last longer based on the targets overall insanity as to oppose blindseer builds who counter visionshaper and use heretics sutra, it'll be a pseudo rivalry
    The insanity rework is an interesting concept but it cannot apply that well to visionshaper, or in fights in general as in ganks you usually die or get to run away before you even reach half of your blood bar down
    I like the illusionary realm, and i would enjoy if you weren't put inside it and if you grabbed an enemy they are brought into the HIVEMIND and it tries to go through their sanity based on their insanity meter, then spawning a mob depending on that amount of insanity (sharko being easiest, electro squibbo being highest, can be corrupted)
    If clones constantly occupied you there should be a downside to that, i.e when you spawn them your ether is slowly and constantly drained (visionshaper moves are way too low in ether cost, and this'll prevent constantly mantra spamming as they will run out of ether eventually)

    Bro did the biggest spit of deepwoken I've ever seen.
    Completely agree with everything he suggested, only exception being the mirage from the deep rework: imo it should also make all your visionshaper-related abilities stronger/last longer the more insane the enemy is (on top of being able to see how insane they are with that eye indicator). Only being able to see your enemy's insanity isn't useful at all by itself (ik about the head popping he said at the end). This change would also make blindseers /high willpower buiilds still somewhat counter visionshaper while still removing disbelief. Your mantras would still be normal strength against sane opponents, but this will make it harder to use the stronger versions on willpower users, thus making disbelief's effect kind of a passive inherently of high willpower.

    we should have a sort of path system for oaths sort of in a sense you can still have the original oath if you want, or go for the 2 or 1 extra path they may have e.g
    Visionshaper path 1 = Illusions and tricks
    Visionshaper path 2 = disguising and mimicry (this will tie in to the whole idea that owls are not how we see them)
    This can also be tied in with Arcwarder having like certain marks (mk's) sort of like iron man and can maybe switch up the suits and passives

      another cool visionshaper path could be using illusion attacks.
      For example, you could use a move, and the next mantra you cast would spawn a clone on you that uses that mantra, and you would go invisible for a bit, and if they hit the clone, the clone explodes.
      also, maybe you could have 2 moves that both shoot the same projectile, but one of them does damage, and one of them does not, but the one that does no damage can still do damage if you block/parry/ dodge it. so your enemy wont know what to do when they see the projectile coming.

    i think making it so the illusions you make become more real as the enemies sanity drops. so for example if they are 50% of their max insanity the clones will do 50% real damage/50% fake damage and take more hits before disappearing, but if they are 0% insanity the clones die in one hit and do only fake damage. and possibly make the illusory realm make all of your clones 100% real so they dont disappear when hit they do 100% real damage and then mix all of this with replacing mirage of the deep with a toggle on x that makes all the clones copy you exactly.
    i think that would make Vision shaper alot more interactive and alot better overall

      I also think an ability that would temporarily remove one enemy player from combat whether by actually physically removing them or by making them hallucinate or make them invisible to you and you invisible to them would be cool since the oath mentions not having to see anything you dont want to. I think it would be fitting to have an option that lets you not have to fight people you dont want to for a moment

    imagine tier 4 sanity when you just fall in f*!king coma from PTSD and etc, or enrage in berserk(you still can parry,hear,m1 but screen just turns blank black and there just a voidsea background sound, so game just decide which direction or to who you will run no matter who is it ally or enemy)

    One thing about tier 3 insanity, instead of your idea, I believe it would be sick if you would start hallucinating. You would see shadows running around and sometimes get attacked by them, resulting in you taking fake damage. The current system honestly doesn't make much sense from a gameplay perspective, and is just annoying to the player.

    i feel like all of your opinions are top on, but i think that the more insane you get your opponent increases the scaling for your oath mantras, like let’s say the eye is 3/4 full, the clones should actually be doing dmg, and they somewhat last longer, which would undoubtedly give more visionshaper players a less ‘runny’ play style and now it would be more aggressive.

    To give people a chance to get out of illusionary realm/domain expansion it should create a bubble first, to give people a chance to get out of it. Also potentially a clash if two people decide to use it at the same time like anime I don't have any idea what the minigame would be but I hope it would be different from the normal wasd minigames.

    In all honesty I love everything about your rework but I think the sanity changes are somewhat too broken because as easy as it sounds hearing stuff that isn’t there, should make some way to tell them apart. Not some really distinct way but maybe a little sound like the “pew” sound vision clones make yk? I think we should be able to tell players apart in t3 insanity but I think that’s where that distinct sound goes and you begin to see things yk? Maybe you’re blinded somewhat like shadow does to you bc of all the blood from scratching your eyes or the soreness etc

    i like this version of visionshaper but you didnt mention any possible downsides to balance it out like for example when exiting the domain the user will get a debuff randomly chosen from 1. being stunned/ragdolled for a while 2. the users head also popping 3. putting all mantras on cd for a long while.

      but even tho vision shaper realm needs to be changed it would be nice for other oaths to get some form of domains as well
      Silent heart: removes the all mantras and removes all forms of ether for the opponent (they can also make it that when an opponent uses an move the dmg of the move is returned to them).
      Silent heart domain downsides: 1.Remove all forms of elemental resistance after the domain for a certain period.2.lose the ability to use the silent heart moves for a while.3.stunned for a while
      Blindseer:causes sanity to instantly be gained back for the user and allys and cause opponents to rapidly lose sanity
      These are just some domains im kinda lazy to make more ideas so yeah
      Feel free to comment what you think could be different or what the other oaths could be like

    Deepwoken devs are so bad at making illusion based things actually about illusions it was the same thing with illusionist in rogue as with visionshaper neither of them do anything with illusions and messing with your mind and yet are portrayed as illusionary abilities

    it does comes from a bias perspective but in reality i believe we just need an oath rework
    jetstriker, visionshaper, starkindred etc desperately need a rework (starkindred shouldnt be buffed btw.)

    Very good idea but add tier 4 insanity makes you unable to see every bar of your stats I mean health, armor, ether, blood, hunger, water and tempo. And buff harrowing enchant making your enemies unable to see every bar stat. Oh also make that if you get auto gripped by insanity your head should pop.

    Alright, hear me out, I know this is a total yap but I hope at least some people will read this, though knowing the deepwoken community I doubt fear I am wasting my time.. My idea for visionshaper would be something like this, instead of a mantra visionshaper clones would be a pseudo mantra! This isn't just aesthetic and a way to make visionshaper clones not cost ether, this is a total rework, this would not be a clone, it would be a double, a gank buddy, almost, but at a cost.
    Activating the pseudo mantra would half your health, your damage, your ether, posture, and armor. Basically everything. But in return, you get a clone! The clone does half your damage, has half your health, half your ether, half your posture, half your armor. Why would you want this clone? Because of advanced AI! Imagine this, the common two angel spawns, but the angels are just slightly weaker max levels, with mantras, stronger weapons, and a unique build! The clone would directly copy your mantras and talents, and basically have the AI of an improved angel(dodges, parries, blocks with shield), set to work together with you.
    Some things I wanted to state are, activating the talent again near your clone will your HP back, if the clone was not damaged, you fully regain your health, if the clone WAS damaged, the amount of HP left would be returned. Same with ether, posture, and armor. Your clone will sit at a campfire with you, so sitting at a campfire will be twice as effective, just a fun tidbit of information.
    Your clone will not attack anyone unless you hit them twice, are in a chime match, or you were hit twice. Your clone will not attack allies unless you activate "friendly pvp"(new system pls) in the settings menu. You can unsummon your clone to make sure you don't attack who you don't want to.
    NOW, for the realm! There would be a talent that lets you summon up to 10 clones! Though you and your clones will only be 10% as strong as you normally would be. In the realm, no damage is dealt, the health bar of you and the enemy will be replaced with a sanity bar that depends on how much sanity you and your enemy has left. If either of your sanities become 0, your heads will pop, dealing 50% damage. Though this would be very hard to do, considering how each attack does 1 sanity damage. Multi hit attacks would do at most 10 sanity damage.
    THIS, this is where things get interesting. The less sanity your enemy has, the more damage your clones do to them, and the less damage they do to your clone. 25% extra damage at max, and 50% less damage at max. (25% sanity left is where the benefits stop)
    Illusory counter would be replaced with a counter that does 5% sanity damage and gives your clone's next attack 10% more damage. Mirage from the deep would be replaced with your talent idea, a talent that lets you see other's sanity. Cheap Trick would be a talent that you don't have to obtain, but can. It takes 10% of your maximum health, permanently. But now whenever you go bellow 25% HP, a final clone spawns! Something special about this clone is that it does your full damage, but has no mantras. It has 10% of your maximum HP and can be killed when it runs out of ether. It's own ether sustains it for about 25 seconds, but a shadowcast user can kill it easily. There will also be a talent that lets you see your clone's health!
    NOW, something interesting about your clones is they are required to be gripped. They do not disapear once they die, they are downed. They take a whole minute to get up, and cannot copy your impervious slumber talent, or perseverance. They are able to be reapered, but the reaper only gains ether from the kill, and the healthpack players get from the clone is halved.
    Any ideas to improve this?

    this rework would be cool asf... but how would the visionshaper realm damage work?? I feel like it could be minimal damage and a debuff, like lowered swing speed, lowered ether regen, or blindness or something along with the damage so its not just gonna deal 20% true damage because you got hit with a domain expansion.. The damage should be minimal but not unnoticeable because theres no way to react to the animation of illusory realm. Like with the sanity tiers, i feel like tier 1 insanity you lose 4% on exit, tier 2 is 8, tier 3 is 10-12% and along with the debuffs it would probably be alot stronger than how it is rn.

    gotta disagree with disbelief. with how stupidly good visionshaper is it's fair to have some counter play to it. at least with all other oaths you can parry/block/dodge their shit. Visionshaper you have absolutely no choice but to fight the clones whether you like it or not
