    Welcome back to MeenusTasteofhome
    Here I shown a simple and easy method of making cookies which is made with Green chilly, dried red chilly, ginger, Pepper & Garam Masala . This Kerala style Bakery Cookies can be prepared with & without oven. Try this delicious recipe (tasty than store bought cookies) and share your feedback through comments.Check out my new recipes.
    Kerala Bakery style Masala Biscuits/ Cookies
    Ingredients:-
    Maida/PlainFlour- 2 cups
    Baking Powder- 1/4 tsp
    Baking soda- 2 pinch
    Salt- 1 tsp
    Sugar-1/2 cup
    Egg- 1 No
    Melted Ghee- 1/2 cup(100mL)
    For Masala,
    Green Chilly- 2Nos (3 to 4, if not spicy)
    Ginger- 1/2 tbsp
    Pepper powder- 1/2 tsp
    Sesame seed- 1 tbsp(optional)
    Cashew- 7 to 8(optional)
    Crushed Red chilly- 1/2 tbsp
    Cinnamon- 1" piece
    Clove- 4 No
    Cardamom- 2 No
    Nutmeg- small piece
    Method:
    1. Sieve all dry ingredients(Maida, Baking Powder, Baking soda, Salt, Sugar) and keep aside.
    2. Powder sugar along with spices(Cinnamon, Clove, Cardamom, Nutmeg) using mixie/ blender
    3. Now add egg, melted ghee and mix until just combined.
    4. Transfer this mixture into a bowl and add remaining ingredients (Green Chilly, Ginger, Pepper powder, Sesame seed,Cashew nut, Crushed Red chilly). Mix these well.
    5. Prepare Cookie dough by mixing dry and wet ingredients.(It should be crumble texture).
    6. Roll dough and cut into round shape using cookie cutter. Place shaped cookies on a baking tray(Using other Methods in the video). Lightly brush beaten egg on top of each cookies to get shiny.
    7. If baking using oven, then preheat your oven to 170°C for 10 minutes and bake for 25 to 30 minutes or until golden brown and crispy at the edges.
    8. If baking without oven, then preheat a pan with lid for 10 minutes and bake for 25 to 30 minutes.
    9. Allow cookies to cool completely on cooling rack,it will be soft in the centre but gets hard and crunchy when it cools down.
    10. Delicious Masala/Spicy Cookies are ready. Store it in an airtight container.

    Note:
    *Don't add oil in this recipe. You may add butter/ghee/dalda.
    *Add 2 drops yellow food colour to get colour for cookies (I didn't add in this recipe)
    *Cookie dough should be crumble in texture not stretchy.
