Trekking Sirdal- / Setalsheiane, part 1

  • Sirdal and Setesdalsheiane may not be as well known as Hardangervidda or other national parks in Norway, but this area offers just as beautiful scenery and beautiful untouched nature.
    I crossed these landscapes in July 2018, which was extremely dry throughout southern Norway. Even in the Fjell many wetlands were dry and streams dried out. The water levels of the lakes were deep and I could not drink the water everywhere as usual. There were almost no mosquitoes and in the lakes you could swim, where it is normally quit cold.
    While it is mostly flat in Setesdalsheiane, the Sirdal region is more mountainous and has more steep slopes to deal with. I visited both regions in a big loop around the Rosskreppfjorden. A wonderful trip that I can highly recommend.

    I always think you should win the award for the hiking videographer who walks out the furthest to then have to come back and get his camera.
    It's very impressive.

      @@heinihefti8969 Well, i did have trip up on Hardangervidda, but had to call it off due to an injuri on my dog. She had a severe cut on her back paw so we had to abort the hike and return home.. Health has to come first..

      Oh, what a pitty - hope your dog is fine in the mean time. I still mourn my missing Norway trip of this summer. Here in Switzerland there were far too many people in the mountains this summer. And I like to be alone in nature. But I have to accept that.

      @heinihefti8969  Před 6 lety +1

      Hi José Antonio, thanks for your kind words. Norway, what else - yes, it's beautiful there😉. I have to come back every year. But I have also other destinations in my mind. I had not the full pack this year and I did not weight it (this year less the 20kg). It looks heavier because I have a farmer rest in it...
      You can go more lightweiht - but I appreciate it, being independent of the cabins and good gear has a little more weight. Grüsse aus der Schweiz - Heini

      Hi sammen, I never ate so many moltebears as this year. To start a day with this breackfast, a cup of coffee and bright sunshine - it's close to heaven😃. Yes, it was a pity we did not catch any fish, but for me it was fun anyway. I look forward to this video 😉. Hope you got some rain in Sørlandet in the meantime. Here we had some rain, but only 2, 3 little thunderstorm with less rain for maximum 20 minutes. We need absolutely rain. It looks terribly brown in some areas. Have a good week - thanks for watching and...vi høres Heini

      Hallo, entschuldige meine späte Antwort. Gestartet bin ich von einer Passstrasse (Suleskarvegen). Am besten schaust du auf der Seite des DNT (ut.no) und klickst dort auf "Kart". Auf dieser Seite siehst du alle markierten Wegen von ganz Norwegen und die Hütten sind beschrieben. Es hat Suchfunktionen für Orte und Hütten. Ich startete vom Parkplatz der an der Passstrasse liegt. Von dort sind es nur ein paar Minuten zur Hütte "Øyuvsbu". Diese Hütte war das Ziel meiner Tour. Ich machte eine Runde um den Rosskreppfjorden. Am besten gibst du auf der Seite den Suchbegriff Øyuvsbu ein, dann bist du schon mal am richtigen Ort. - Gruss Heini

      Hi Gabriel, thanks for watching and your comment. Most of the cabins belongs to DNT . You have to pay for your stay or things you eat there. When there are other people in the cabin, you have also access. Bigger cabins are normaly open, smaler ones are closed. To open them you must be member of the DNT, then you will get a key. A lot of these cabins close end September. God tur - Heini
