- Jason Randall first started experiencing stomach issues in 2005 and was diagnosed with GERD.
In 2018, he was seen by his doctor when he got severe abdominal pain and infrequent bowel movements. A scan then showed 80% of his liver was covered with metastatic disease and was diagnosed with stage 4 colorectal cancer. He was then told he would be on chemo for life.
In this conversation, Jason shares more about his cancer journey, his work with support groups and how he overcame liver surgery and chemo after doctors said it couldn’t be done.

I am a stage 4 colorectal survivor. Like you it had spread to my liver and they gave mea 15% survival rate. Unlike you I had no symptoms nor did it show up in my blood work, just by chance I had a colonoscopy at 52 because it was the end of the year and my insurance deductible had been paid. They did the liver resection first followed by removing the tumor from my colon. My next stop was chemotherapy. My story goes way deeper because everything that happened was miraculous and the Doctors were baffled as I made a full recovery and I am now 10 years cancer free. As a side note on my last treatment my wife was diagnosed with breast cancer so the journey continued but is now cancer free as well. I struggled for a while with God as to what he wanted me to do with this journey and I now know it is to tell my story and give people hope. Up until now I am not part of any organization but perhaps I should look into it. Thanks for sharing.
Hi I had a couple questions if you don’t mind please. How did the doctors first discover you had colorectal cancer? And how did they see that it had spread to other areas? Please let me know as I’m scared and trying to figure out all this stuff.
@@poccagirl1703 The colonocopy found the tumor, after that they did a CT scan followed up with a PET scan. The PET scan found that it had spread to my liver. I was scared too, in fact I was terrified. But I prayed on my knees and I heard a voice say "Don't be afraid, I am with you and a peace came over me and I was not afraid no more. One of the biggest things is your attitude and keeping joy in your heart. I am convinced that I experienced super natural healing from God as there were so many things that did not make sense to the Doctors.Cancer is ugly but it is not a death sentence, you can beat it. I also had the top two Doctors in their field which also was by Gods grace. I will include you in my prayers.

My dad just recently dx with stage 4 colon cancer, which had already metastasized to the peritoneum and small bowel. The surgeon says it was not resectable and is currently planned for chemo. He was never sick before and the news really crushed him. Hopefully this is the best management for him.Pls pray that everything will be eased for my father and the chemo regime will work 🙏.
🙏
hopefully ur dad is doing great. My prayers are with u ♥️
God please let my dad have this miracle happen to him as well. Please let him live longer and go into remission. It's been 6 years stage 4 and it's not looking good. I can't lose my best friend 😭
hopefully he gets well soon 🤲🏼
My wife was dx with colorectal cancer stage 4 in October 2022….we had no idea. She had been having random weird symptoms for a couple months. When she finally was seen she had a 10in by 10in mass in her abdomen. She had a total hysterectomy bc the cancer spread to her ovaries which was what the mass was. She also had a bowel resection. It’s also in her liver, bile duct, and one breast. She’s just completed her 10th chemo treatment and has two more. She has a ct scan in a couple weeks.

I send prayers your way to. ❤
wow, prayers for her. what a warrior she is!!! ❤ could you recommend the hospital she was treated at? Similar issues, scared to pieces

@@J-ZIM Hi Jason hope you are doing good and kicking ass. My girl friend is 54 she is reciving targeted therapy. Her numbers are low right now but we have faith that they will come back up. Just a heads up there is a new medication called Dostarlimab/Jemperli. The small trials they are doing have had great results.
I had a cough that came late in the day. Went to the doctor, they thought it could be gerd. Took the same meds. No change. Colonoscopy and endoscopy, nothing. CT scan...softball size tumor on my kidney. Stage 3.
Listen to your body.
Glad you are doing so well.
hello I am also a stage 4 colon cancer survivor. they gave me about a 20 percent chance to live 5 years I had surgery before chemo and had 13 rounds of chemo. I have been cancer free for almost 8 years. I think it was the quality of the surgeons that I had. thank you cleveland clinic for all you have done for me
Hi, I just got back from a colonoscopy and endoscopy. The results were completely normal. I have had blood in my rectum, unexplained anemia, severe stomach pain, constipation and based on all my Google findings, diagnosed myself with advance colon cancer. They found Nothing, not even a benign polyp. I wanted to share this because I couldn’t find enough of these types of posts when I was looking for answers myself. Sometimes the research we do drives us completely bonkers, wasting hours and days and even weeks assuming the absolute worst! There are soooo many other explanations for symptoms than the worst case scenarios & statistically, it is more likely NOT to have cancer than to have it🙌🏼 Unfortunately, I know this is NOT everyone’s experience and people are diagnosed everyday and have to walk the hard battle out but I wanted to be a voice of hope in the self diagnosis process. Get tested. Don’t ignore symptoms but don’t assume it’s colon cancer.
Hi I had the same symptoms as you and it was cancer. Be careful
I’m so glad you mentioned that your oncologist never gave you a termination date. I think that is so important. No human on earth can give you a date you will leave this earth. Only God knows our time. Jesus didn’t even know when He was going to die on the cross for us.
I recently lost a brother to colorectal cancer. He was diagnosed stage 4 and given 6 weeks to 6 months to live. He lived 15 months. Soon will be 3 years.
Sorry to hear about your loss, sending you lots of love
Sorry for your loss.
Man this guys is a beast. He just pretty much told cancer to F**k off Everytime it would attack him somewhere else in his body. Wow!
Brother. Learn to eat a lot of healthy organic vegetables, fishes, grass fed beef and cut out of all form of sugary foods including all fruits(except low sugar berries). Boost your immune system so it can repair itself from chemo
Dont forget to cut off on all simple carbs such as white rices, white breads, pasta, pizza, donuts etc

I think the thing that never leaves you, is once you have been on this journey and come out the other end........................there is always that fear deep down, will it come back. My mum took this journey 20 years ago and was blessed to have survived with just some scars and a bag. BUT it came back 5 years later, again she fought and won. The second episode did however result in some major 'replumbing' as she puts it, and was able to ditch the bag. She is still clear at 81 years old.
Wow! This is giving me hope at age 40, I was diagnosed with stage 4 incurable colorectal cancer in January 2021. I have had numerous surgeries including an ultra lower anterior resection, liver resection, radiation and currently receiving chemo. the tumor spots in my rectum and liver are stable and have been for about 8 months now. I don’t know what the future holds but just hoping for a miracle st this point. Thank you’ll for sharing, good luck god bless!

I finally had my first colonoscopy last week at age 47 (48 now) cuz my dr had been on me to get it done for a couple years at least and I kept putting it off. Especially after I told him that my brother had a cancerous polyp removed (he had preventive chemotherapy and radiation) he is ok. I shouldn’t waited so long. Plus I had started bleeding for about a week straight (which later found out it was just a internal hemorrhoid. My colonoscopy went ok and they found 2 polyps in the colon and removed them. The nurse there told me when I woke up that if I would have sat on it (no pun intended) for 5 or 10 years I would have had serious problems. I am so glad I went to get this procedure done. Plus I’m anemic and that’s a sign of colon cancer too. I have to get checked in 3 years from now. Hopefully all will be ok. I lost my mom to leukemia back in ‘02 and she was just 51 at the time and I remember thinking that was old but I’m now 48 the same age she was when she got sick. She fought like hell though and never once complained. I lost my dad back in march of ‘21 and he had liver cancer and was in the process of getting the transplant and as soon as they were opening him he had a heart attack and died. Then there’s my brother who had the colorectal cancer when he was my age now. I was foolish and hardheaded to put off that colonoscopy that could have possibly prevented me from getting cancer from one of those polyps. (They sent them to the lab which I understand is their standard procedure to check them). I just hope this message reaches at least one person who is one the fence about getting a colonoscopy done. Do it now! (If you haven’t already) don’t be foolish and wait like I did with all the risk factors I had. Don’t wait till you have symptoms to go to the dr or hospital, it may be too late then. We all think it won’t happen to us like we are special and “that won’t happen to me, I’m healthy, I eat right, I take care of myself.” Don’t think that way. It can happen to anyone. I was foolish for waiting so long and thank God I had nothing major . Thank you sir for your testimony and thank you for reading mine. I pray 🙏 everyone gets a colonoscopy and I pray everyone stays healthy and catches cancer in time before it has time to spread. God bless
Thank you for sharing. My husband have colon CA and it came back 3rd time. He was diagnosed in 2018 and I was also pregnant with my 3rd child. Now my husband is receiving chemo again. He had liver resection 2020 and now again liver Mets. Your story gave me hope. ThNk you again for sharing
Hey brother, listen, keep keeping your head up! My father is 80 years old. He was diagnosed with stage four, metastatic colon cancer, to the liver and lungs, back in 2010. Just like you, the surgeon told him it had been growing in there for at least 10 years. That’s a really long journey, and he is still alive. In fact, the colon cancer is the least of his health problems, at this point. Really it’s just heart disease that has hurt him the worst. I know there’s others that don’t always survive this, but there’s always hope. People can survive, and thrive, for a very long time.
Amen 🙏
Hope you doing well
I know it might not seem like it but u r a Blessing to your family b like a camel go to bed on your knees and get up on them the LORD Jesus Christ loves you Amen 🤙🙏🙏🙏

My dad also has stage 4 spread to liver, lungs and brain. It was a very recent diagnosis. This gives us hope. God bless you and your family!
What a champion! I have all kinds of “down there” issues but don’t go to the dr. to find anything out. Too afraid and can’t afford to get anything done anyway. So, my mindset, at age 73, is to just keep going with my top priority being living as long as possible because my daughter would be list without me. I eat only organic, small amounts of non-processed food and walk 3 miles at least 5 days a week. I’m on no drugs. Gonna just die if I can’t walk anymore and save my daughters inheritance instead of trying to live 2-3 months longer.
I hear ya there. Im only 61 and already have a few significant issues but no insurance and cant afford drs. Just gonna take SS at 62 and do the best I can til my time comes. Besides, our medical system is broken and alot of fraud and waste and uncaring Drs.
Genau das würde ich auch tun.
you can do fasting, keto, fenbendazole, artemisinin, turkey tail mushroom. search each of those + cancer.
there are many things you can do but the best thing i think is just a long hard fast preferably at least 72 hours if you can manage that. the cancer needs glucose and glutamine to survive and spread.
Man, if anyone thinks they are going through some things, watch this guy. This is nuts. Glad to see you were strong enough to make it through. I'm not sure I'd have the same response.
Thank you! It's nothing anyone is ever prepared for, I am just grateful to have made it through and am keeping going through it all. I do a lot of work helping others going through this so they can maximize their own chances at survival.
dead of loved one is worst thing, its not bearable for me
I have stage 3 Colon cancer my symptom was pain in my lower back that wouldn’t go away I thought I had a kidney stone went to ER they done a CT scan and seen the msss on it, 3 days later surgery and started chemo in around 3 weeks, so far so good !!

How did your colonoscopy go? Do you have your results?

This was an inspirational story to hear! My brother was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer in May 2022 and since then has went through FOLFOX chemo, had 15 inches of his colon removed, and had 30% of his liver removed this past October. On Dec 26 he went to the ER because he was having pain in his lower right side. Unfortunately, the scan came back that the cancer had progressed back in his colon, liver and on his lung. He sees his oncologist tomorrow to see what's next. I hope and pray this can still be treated. Please keep him and my family in everyone's prayers ❤

What an amazing journey! Thank you for sharing your story. My dad passed away of stage 4 colon cancer which spread to his liver. He passed away one year after his diagnosis, even after going through chemo with a determination to fight the disease. I still miss him every day. yeah my question is same plz tell us answer...my uncle hv a colon cancer 4th stage b...plz tell us
In some case chemo doesn't work, just delay what it is inevitable
What a beautiful gentleman.....you are helping so many....
my oncologist was pretty chill about the sudden finding of an isolated liver met. he's like i know it seems bad, but we can cut that bad boy out and you should be all set. told me to relax. 36 days later i had my surgery. He waited for pathology and it was an encapsulated liver met. he said lets wait 6 months before chemo gave me some information about desmoplastic CRLM and that survival rate is over 84% in most and 91% in some. with the average falling around 60% and told me to trust the process. I did and the "gamble" paid off CEA dropped to 1 and then 9 months out dropped even further to .6 all scans clear. i'm in total NED status without the need for any chemo.
I'm so happy you never needed the chemo. I'm praying it stays that way for you.
My onco was too chill about my liver met too. Didn't even recommend surgery, which isn't sitting well with me.
May I ask how large yours was?
@@lauradiphlipo9332 My liver lesion was 3cm and it was in section 6 on the liver on the very outer edge as far as it be. "most medial edge" was the radiologist report. Pathology came back desmoplastic (encapsulated) so chemo was not needed.
Prayers. My mother had colorectal cancer, my screening was at 39, and found a large polyp without any symptoms. Prayers to you.
I've had bad gut issues for years now that have turned into much more concerning symptoms. I have been to many doctors and no one can diagnose me because i cant get a colonoscopy. The regimen messes with my heart and makes me almost pass out. I feel so alone and like I'll never get the help I need. Our health care system is so broken, especially where I live in TN. Im glad you got the help you needed! Prayers and love to your family from me🙏
There is a nerve in the stomach that gets pressed or squashed when you eat for some people and it raises the heart beat to an extent of passing out. Please research it and consult your doctors. It can make you feel like you are about to die. Eat food in very small portions to avoid feeling full which triggers the fast heart rate. Also there are procedures done to alleviate the pressure on the nerve but not 100% guaranteed.
you are a true hero for so many

I was feeling breathless and fatigued. This got annoying as I also became dizzy. Eventually I went to get myself checked out by a doctor. After a detailed set of blood tests I saw I had a very low iron count. No problem I thought. Just buy a ton of iron tablets. Sorted. The doctor advised a colonoscopy. I thought this was over the top. I had anaemia. Big deal. What I didn’t understand was that low iron anaemia isn’t an illness. It’s a symptom of something else. So reluctantly I decided to have a colonoscopy. Doctor came in immediately afterwards and told me I had a cancerous polyp. I said “you mean I have cancer?” He said yes. Tomorrow morning I will find out what stage my cancer is. I’m expecting Stage IV. Your video is inspiring. Not sure if it gives me hope but it makes me feel stronger. You are a remarkably brave man. Thank you and may God keep you safe.
I wish you luck!

Listening to this gives me hope. I was diagnosed with stage 4 colorectal cancer in October of 2022. I am a year into it and I'm basically on a maintenance treatment now. My cancer spread to my lungs. I have 14 spots in my left lung and 5 in my right. All of those are very small. I've never had any issues with my blood work and I'm still working full time. I am doing really well and feel good 95 percent of the time. I am thinking of looking into something as I didn't like being told I'd never get off chemo. I don't feel that is the end. This story gives me more hope. Thanks for sharing!! 😊

How were you So lucky? of which I am glad for you. But we also went to City of Hope for HELP of exactly what you had. Although CT showed almost complete obstruction, City of Hope concurred with Eisenhower to rush to get back on Chemo. Week later, full obstruction, Emergency Surgery, but Eisenhower Surgeon refused my comment on Stent. Full open surgery, then overhydration, dehissing of wound, major infection because of lack of antibiotic treatment. He passed early May. :( They did EVERYTHING wrong, no matter how hard we searched for help. You have been so fortunate.
My mom died of squamous small cell carcinoma stage 3 in the colon, she was 53 when diagnosed but had symptoms for a few years but was ignored by her primary care physician. She was diagnosed with sciatica pain from a pinched nerve. By the time they ordered a colonoscopy, it was too late ashshe was diagnosed at stage 3b. I lost her 2 years ago now, she would be 59 today if she was diagnosed earlier and complaints more thoroughly looked at. I do worry about developing it as well as I've had stomach issues, constipation and bloody mucus while not feeling like I've fully emptied myself out.. I get told I'm too young at 27 but cancer can strike everyone. I do wish you to beat this completely in your journey.
Any update? How are you feeling?

I’m a stage 3c colorectal cancer survivor. I’ve been NED since June 2020. I had a LAR , half of my rectum and 5 inches of my sigmoid colon removed, along with 30 lymph nodes. 28 days of radiation and 8 rounds of FOLFOX which was terminated early due to significant neuropathy and low platelets- Oxaliplatin is a blessing and a curse. Unfortunately after all this treatment I struggle with significant quality of life issues related to frequency and urgency of bowel movements. I’ve found that there seems to be relatively little expertise in helping people challenged with LAR syndrome. I’ve had to rely a lot on my own research to try and manage and improve my situation. A lot of my treatments were done during Covid. There were no support groups and no visitors for treatments and surgeries. I’ve received a lot of benefit from watching CZcams and observing all of the different cancer stories that people have experienced. I can’t overstate the importance of having good emotional support during and after treatment. My spouse offered virtually no emotional support (lots of practical and physical support instead). Ultimately after my first surgery she told me she wanted a divorce- which was just as devastating as my cancer diagnosis. I can tell you had a lot of emotional support, which I wish I could have experienced. Thanks for sharing your story. You certainly have figured out how to make lemonade from life’s lemons.
I can't believe that the person you supposed to have the most support abandoned you. What a coward !! I really hope you are still fighting this battle. I send you a hug and I wish you the best.
@@ceciliacruz7804 Thank you for caring. A lot of my treatments were during Covid. No visitors during surgeries. No support groups. And no emotional support from my spouse. So it was a lonely journey. The good news is my treatments have resulted in no evidence of cancer. So I’m grateful for that. My ex is a medical person. I think all of her empathy was spent on her patients, she’s an excellent clinician, which didn’t leave much for me when she got home. Thank you for the hugs and caring.
“Stomach issues” would be great if you’d elaborate on those early symptoms more specifically, in2005. Good for you for keeping fighting.
@OutTubeMoriah, I've looked into the initial symptoms and they have since added having iron deficient anemia to the list as well as the usual constipation, unexplained weight loss 10 lbs or more in a month, feeling "full" or bloated, blood in your stool, acid reflux as well as nauseaand vomiting. I have severe anemia, so I'll ask the hematologist if I should go get colorectal screening done, and I'm a 39-year-old female.
Blood in your stool can be hemorrhoids.

@@artandrea5348 I’m going through the same thing, pain, cramping, super constipated, no blood, I’ve taken antibiotics/laxatives and still nothing. Thank u for ur story God Bless u , I was told April 2023 I have colon cancer and went to my liver but not all my liver, it will be 2 months being on chemotherapy this June and I still have 4 more months of chemo to go before I have surgery . The protocol is to shrink the tumor then do surgery. I do have side effects like feeling tired and neuropathy I can’t handle or drink anything cold for at least a week after my chemo also when I blow my nose it bleeds some so my oncologist office tells me to use saline to keep it from bleeding 🩸 they have me on chemo twice a month so first 2 days with chemo then the third day I go return chemo bag and I’m off for 14 days , i weigh before my chemotherapy 130 lb and I’m down to 116lb I pray 🙏 I can do the rest of my chemo treatment.

Today I learned that a great friend of mine as a kid passed away from stage 4 colan/liver cancer back in 2021. We had a falling out in '92 and I hadn't heard from him since. I hope you have a better outcome than he did. If you've foolishly stopped talking to any old acquaintances, it's never too late to make amends - until it's too late. Be well.
Deadzone you not spoken to your friend from 1992
Wow! Good luck, I wish you all the best and many decades of joy 🙏
