    Regarding the catering, looks like you pre-ordered the veggie-meal. Those are far worse than the regular meals which really aren't too bad, much fresher, tastier and more appealing. The regular 3rd snack is usually a Monty's wrap, veggie or meat, they must have had an issue on your flight. If you're a veggie like me, stick to the regular meals and choose the pasta ( if it's veggie ) , it's far better.

    I've never had a bad meal on Air Canada in my 9 transpacific flights with them, but that looked ghastly. The asian veg. option is always solid if you like curry.

    Definitely a fine service.. Especially since you can snatch some really descent fares to the USA with them usually! We've had the window shade problem on the LATAM 787.. Exactly the same situation. Been dimmed until a few minutes before pushback.. Great video! :)

      Flight Time That’s Interesting, I guess it depends on the airline. Regarding prices, there can be some great fares when flying to the East Coast but to Canada they are insanely expensive (more expensive than flights to Australia) btw, this was a flight to America haha. Thanks a lot 😉

    Really awesome report as always mate! Always a pleasure to watch. In answer to your questions, I was on the BA 787 last year back from Shanghai and had full control over my window dimmer for the whole flight (it was a full daylight flight), however there was no mood lighting in use, and yes I believe that commercially the 787 windows are the biggest. :-)

    Nice update, I am quiet familiar with the Dreamliner experience, however I avoid AC at every chance I get. They have a modern fleet and usually on time, but the food and service are terrible. Once I was boarding an AC B777 at YYZ (Toronto) to Munich and I had to clean my seat from the bread crumbs, the previous passenger left on. Also flight attendants are older and rather arrogant on most flights. They have this monopoly attitude in my opinion, and I am a frequent transatlantic traveler, so I can compare them with everyone else in the air. Once I was super tired in Frankfurt and My flight with AC was boarding off the terminal so we had to be bused and I couldn't wait to have a seat and fell a sleep. Flight attendant woke me up ( A middle aged man) and asked me if I want anything to drink, I told him "Thanks I am good. He replied; "I didn't ask you if your are good or not, I asked you if you want a drink. Didn't want to make a seen or break his jaw, but told him again "No thanks. I think this Airline needs a staff overhaul to go with their nice planes.

  • @doitwithb
    @doitwithb Před 5 lety

    Nice video! Very detail and very nice approach to YVR, loves those Rockies.
    Just want to clarify though, the "buy on board" menu is only available on domestic and trans-border (Canada to US) flights. And yes, like many people said, if you are into veggie options, go with the regular meals, on their Europe flights, veggies options are always available with every meal. Also, the windows are not supposed to be locked, the cabin crew may have locked it by "mistake" when they were trying to dimmed it, dimming is suppose to let passengers take some rest, keep them calmer and more mellow, very important in a tightly packed environment at 37000 ft hahaha

    I wonder what happens to AC when they fly Domestic and its pretty much thr same with all american cariers Except JetBlue which I enjoyed and delta too.
    Though AC's International sector is good I flew their YYZ-DEL back in 2017 but I guess it was because they had like all indian crew and even announcements were in Hindi and punjabi which is rare cause i have heard two languages but here it were 4 languages lolz English,French,Hindi and Punjabi lolz
    Never travelled with them frm Canada to Elsewhere except India but yes their Inter Canada service reminds me of IndiGo lolz Like thr Full service tag to such airlines is injustice cause they really arent full service in lietral sense isnt it ?

    I have flown many different airlines on transatlantic flights and they all dim the lights in the cabin a couple of hours after departure. I think the idea is that it reduces jetlag if you manage to get a few hours sleep on these daytime flights. For me it works just the opposite so I am not happy with that solution either. As for beverages most airlines have free drinks available in the galley throughout the flight - was that not the case on AC?

If it's daylight outside I like seeing some sunshine, it doesn't have to be a fully open blind but a little bit of something is better than nothing (unless it's a night flight).
