When the transmission died in our '67 Ford Country Squire wagon for the 3rd time (this time out of warranty) my dad rented a brand new 1970 4 door Coronet in that same Kelly green color while he was fighting with the Ford dealership to cover the cost of the repair. I remember thinking that Dodge was sooo much cooler looking than our wagon and I was hoping we'd never get the Ford back! Unfortunately we did and there was much more trouble ahead. Perry’s 500 has a painted filler piece between the two front hoops, rather than chrome, as well as black grills instead of argent. I recall the brochures also show the same details on 500’s. It looks great, but you can’t use these images for reference if you’re doing a restoration. I own a 70 Super Bee coupe, I’ve owned it for 45 years. It was a high production year, and lots of people here seem to think they are beautiful, (as do I) but they seemed to sell big in some regions and not in others.

Not really! Every year back then, the designers were making the cars more and more aggressive looking because of the muscle cars and Dodge designed the Coronet front end and the taillights to resemble bee wings because of the Super Bee! Imagine seeing that front end, coming up behind you, in your mirror as you are sitting at a red light in your Ford or Pontiac! 1970 was the first year that the Mercury front end was more aggressive looking than the Ford! And 1971 was the first year that the Plymouth front end was more aggressive looking than the Dodge! And Chevrolet and Buick front ends weren't as aggressive looking as the Pontiac and Oldsmobile!
