Seeing those 234s chunk for 4k on a DD is immensely satisfying. I find myself doing more secondary damage than you'd expect from the DPM numbers off shiptool; it feels closer to zieten or even rupprecht than bismarck. The combination of the initial alpha of the 234s, their super high pen allowing them to farm german and russian ships, and their excellent angles that make them perform really, really well.
I really found the dreadnought design a double edged sword when uptiered, on one hand it's slow (27.5 knots with brisk) but on the other hand, there are huge pieces of armor that nothing overmatched and those 234s are pretty immune to uptiering. It can tank yamato shells pretty well when angled and I was able to duel a stalin to death pretty handily.

For a guy that gets so very frustrated with the game on his twitch streams, he produces awesome CZcams videos. Informative, instructive amd entertaining. The puds at WG should really gets PQ’s input for the game, but sadly there is no chance in hell of that. Keep up the good work my guy.

I do like this ship so far, and I mainly play it in ranked. These secondary are terrifying, you can pen all the BBs in the same tier, light tons of fire and detonate lower tier crusier (yes you can).

I went from bronze to silver in her for the first time (had a bunch of extra dubs built up so was able to get the early dockyard packages) and spent more time playing her then any other ship in months. She is very deadly in ranked, can basically sneak up on a cap, or hold a captured one, and punish anyone who tries to fight her in secondary range. I found I was able to 1v1 (or 1v2) most US or German battleships and only have problems only Russian BB's that nose in. At 11km her guns are more then good enough and you are basically carrying a heavy cruiser for a huge force multiplier with so few ships. She is my go-to secondary ship now.

Basically, the secondaries are short range Zao guns, so when in range, you're dealing Zao style firepower combined with the main guns, but you have to get close enough
Yeah, try that at T10 when you spawn on the wrong flank and the reds chase you and snipe you from 20 km....
As a personal experience with Atlantico myself, I found that you can actually devastate an entire flank in literally any match maker if you have the help of just one more battleship, a cruiser and a destroyer. Destroyer spots, Cruiser spots and shoots, battleships fire and if anything makes it within 11 kilometers then they're most likely not gonna live long seeing how powerful one secondary salvo on Atlantico can be (cough cough, 5,000+damage w/ two fires). Noting here that this only happens when you have a map that has atleast one island within or near the engagement zone. This ship excels most in Ranked as it's no longer tier 8 clan battles and it hasn't been for a very long time
you completely right because I've even gotten wither in this ship a ship with no HE on a Musashi 223k game for me every though our team lose
Honestly I'm having a total blast with this ship.
Sadly I don't think I've played a full top tier game yet even though I played it a lot lately, but then again. I played a lot of ranked with it.
And it's surprisingly GOOD even in tier X games.. Sure you'll struggle and you can't just Yolo your way in ut those secondaries are doing wonders with its arc over some islands even
The armor of this ship is really good, I've been angled against a Kremlin and took no damage for a few salvos.. Sadly the weak point is torps and a sub rekt me at the last seconds of the game while I was actually finishing off that Kremlin 1 on 1!very sad face here but ended up 6 kills and over 200k dmg in a tier X battle.
I had few games where secondaries made up half of my total damage and sometimes more including the fires they start
The only ap thing have not been an issue so far with this ship, its pen is really good and secs will deal the He dmg against dd and cc and melt other BB 1v1
That being said you're very vulnerable to DD, you're slow and all but the concealment is god like to creep out on your ennemies and surprise them with a powerful alpha followed by a storm of He from your secondaries..
Most fun ship i had in a while!! (despite lacking any useful tools gimmicks)
With 14 point captain, I invested all in secondaries + concealment and brisk. 4 fires are rough to fight but, these secondaries are out of this world fun. Not over powered though, as the reloads are quite slow but seeing secondaries put in work while tanking as long as possible, I literally had games where secondary+fire damage almost equated to main gun dmg. Truly fun experience
Another great video! I was debating buying the remaining stages but now I decided against.
Atlanticos have been very challenging when I fight them equal tier, but I know for a fact against tier 10s realistically only tier 8 DDs or Cruisers can feel competitive (somewhat).
Got the Ship yesterday as well, first dockyard ship I got in general, and I‘ve had a lot of fun with it in ranked matches, enemy DD‘s however… not so much xD
ships like Atlantico are a great argument to make tiers above T6 queue up only 1, not 2, tiers above or below. It's a poorly balanced ship
Tier 8 to 10 makes it pretty damn obvious.
Had fun in the Ranked Battles. Random at Tier 10, not so much. I really enjoy tearing apart destroyers and cruisers with my secondaries.
Almost every patch, the Preussen line gets powercrept even further. With Anhalt now in the works, they're slowly becoming obsolete.
Re: Atlantico, I found it okay. The slow speed is probably my biggest complaint for it, followed by the subpar range. There are cruisers that outrange this ship, and in Asia server where playing above tier 6 is a guaranteed CV game, trying to get close enough to be useful is an exercise in futility.
I love the Atlantico! bow tank and show just a little side all bb's aim for a citadel and get bounce's while the secondary's go to town.
I usually play tier 6 BBs because of the harsh uptiering at 7+. I don't worry too much about Atlanticos. They take chunk damage readily.
I find it super reliable in t10 games, versus any other secondary ship like KM ships. The shells' dispersion is quite good for a secondary ship, the rest is just positioning. I almost always end up at the top or near the top, but then again if im playing a decent ship that's happening regardless.
Have it. Fun boat have not played it a lot though. I grind the dockyard hard so then I can get more steel.
I think it shines in ranked, the maps are small and you can really get in the face if the enemy. I don't even main BBs and I get more dmg and kills than on my cruisers
Atlantico is awsome for new ranked sistem...In tier9 mm its monster plus get bonus for shoot bigerr tier
Regarding your comments of low detection range vs. secondary range, at least on the KMS battlecruisers, that offset by the lack of range on main guns with now possability of a spotter. I lack these ships, but I'm also been frustrated by getting shot at (being spotted by a DD) by those several K past my range. This low detect with good secondary seems a pretty good balance.

She works pretty well with MB/Tank build too... Her guns are fairly reliable with AS.
She has a bit 'meh' range, but her concealment is good, she may only have AP but you can get decent damage on supers/etc...
Her HP and speed aren't enough for a full secondary spec IMO, but that's just personal pref...

I think that the spotting range secondary range is fine given that the owner must have invested at least a 4 point skill in the range as well as equiping the mod for range to meet this range.
3 points actually. the 4 pointer is reload and accuracy.
I have only played two games on rhat line and they didnt go well. I think at least a 15 point captain is required to do well and given the few ships i have in the line it will take some grinding to get.
I have about 10 matches in mine. In the right place at the right time, this thing is devastating. It plays well to my preferred style, which is a knife fight in a phone booth. With my build and a flag, my secondary range is 11.3 km. In my best match so far I had 79k combined damage from my secondaries. It seems to be tough as nails too. I have also had two matches where I never got close enough to get a single shot. Overall glad I took the time to get this one unlike the other Dockyard disasters.
Just imagine if it still had the 5km hydro and enhanced pen angles that it originally had in testing... ship would be insane. OP I'm sure, but for a 25 kt ship with New York style turrets maybe it would be okay?

the atlantico reminds me of the viribus unitis in a way. its uptiered 1 too many. like it should be a tier 7 instead of 8. but if you did that, it would be incredibly op vs tier 5. just like the viribus would be incredibly op against tier4's

i dont get Musashi from light house but instead i buy this ship for about 7500 doubloon, now i play this ship at rank love the too big gun secoundly !
Sadly I had to spend a lot of doubloons, because of some reason my game has not been running well since 0.11.2.. I've got a quite an antique ntb, almost 10 years old, but it used to run the game without any issues. Now it can't stop crashing, but I really wanted the ship, but since I am still looking for a replacement, I finished the dockyard only with dubs.
You've hit the nail on the head with this ship. At tier 8 is is good, top tiered vs 6 it is absolute nightmare and against t10 it is awful, in many respects due to lack of HE so it can't pretend to be a cruiser.. and also the awful speed.
true , i have mix feelings for her. it doesnt rly feel better than massa and i had to spend like 2+ commander exp to be playable . meh
Even vs some tiers 7 Atlantico is kinda weak, I deal with her in my Hyuga many times. I would say she's a very situational ship
I would take it out in T8-T9 ranked cause you can get some damage on these close DDs with your Secs but its T8..
Knowing that I have a Jean Bart (which I can play really really well) its a tough choice what Ship I should pick for ranked.
Sec fun but -1 Tier lower or a T9 (Premium) in which I can Single-handedly win the game
I love it when a dd pops up within 6.5 km and my secs are fully built. Dd just melts
You might want to consider taking Brisk instead of Vigilance as Atlantico is quite slow.

The grind was hard and fun, but I'm still not enthusiastic about this ship. I blame Marlborough (first dockyard). Wish it had a longer range or HE
I have her and enjoy her. But like you said, she doesn't uptier well. Also, that 150mm plating makes sure she eats full pens from all AP shot at her. And I find myself dying quickly if I am not angled properly.
Well... not all of us spent xp for 4 extra points (to the 10 point that the ship comes with). Lot's of us only have one 4 point skill active. Does kinda sux that the ship is a premium...but it's the only ship I have for the nation...so... might as well be a silver ship as far as commanders are concerned.
I hope Atlantico secondary range can compete with the Germans in Legends. Coming soon
It's so slow and the limited range make this a difficult ship to play.
When I get into secondary range I have some fun. I just wish it was a lil faster.

Brisk exists.....its only 2 points for 10% more speed when undetected.
When they said, German is the secondary BB , and then we have this, someone who over power a German BB in secondary
You should try out Atlantico in ranked. Uptiered against 9s isn't terrible and the ship's range limitations aren't as much of a disadvantage.
9:05 you basically let 2 perma fires go and insta dcp 1 fire
But speaking from experience, if you did dcp those 2 fires at beginning all HE hits after dcp ends would be like 100% fire chance
They will nerf it after dockyard event, similar thing happened with Schlieffen

Except your main gimmick is secondaries and they pretty much require you to be spotted to work. Youd be better served by getting vigilance.

@@cillocillo5287 i don't like skills that encourage people to not be spotted while youre in a ship that you should be firing all the time. You want to waste your skills, that's fine. I won't be.
I don't like the % boost stuff that WG uses.
Meaning, low base stat = low enhancement stat.
So... you get what... 2.5 knots faster by taking that skill and only when undetected?
Still see Grease the Gears, and Priority Target as the most useful 2 pointers.

Like it, but it struggles to get around the board.
I don't know why but my Atlantico eat 406mm pens even when angled, 460 from Yammy and musashi is a sure pen that's why It will struggle when up tier.

Some facts : NO HE, no Hydro, and the so much trumpeted secondaries - you forgot to mention the reload - the atrocious reload ! - on them ! When a dd pops-up you get lucky if your sec manage just one shot before he gets back outside your range... Is on pair with Bismark, I think, but Bismark with the german hydro have the upper hand.
I have a dd popping on my flank, was hit JUST ONCE by sec before disappearing... for some pity 800 dam.
Obvious at t6 you smash everything, but any T8 bb will do that in competent hands.
And at least, let's be fair: how many games, from a set of 10, you will be top tier ? ... Hmm ? Most of the time you will fight T10s , and your slow speed and crappy range will make your life miserable. I finished the grind for her 2-3 days ago, bought her, and first game was vs T9, managed top position with 3 kills but we lost... the only great satisfaction was a dev strike against a Nelson who tried hard to burn me down, and he was thinking he can angle - 9 of 10 shells at 5 km enter his bow and was a 46,8 k strike lol - a lot of cits ...
Total dam 121k main battery, only 21k sec . The problem with the sec is, the crappy reload 11,9 seconds ... more than 2 x more time than a Bismark.
In a side note, the speed boost on commander skills ( when you are not watched + 10% speed) is a MUST on this ship...
It's a gudbote for ranked, at least for this season.
Would've gotten it if they didn't strip down some of the guns aspects & if tier 8 wasn't in such a poor position of matchmaking

I did not and I’m not planning on going for it. Too many cons for me and I love secondary BB’s
Unfortunately, playing up tier is the more common battle for me in Atlantico.
It does lack HE and it's range is quite poor.
Not to be rude but I've noticed you keep saying "no hydro" is a big issue on a lot of BB's, but then again, very few lines get the hydro, majority of BB lines play without hydro.Obv hydro is good but like with Vigilance and some awareness, torpedoes are not a major issue, at least in my experience. Nonetheless, great video!
It's pretty fun but you are really useless if pushed into t10 or even t9 since the guns really fall off plus you take so much damage. It's a blast when fighting t8's
Its fun but not really competitive
I prefer Kii over Atlantico for anything, even secondaries. the torps make up for the lack of armor thereof and Kii guns are much more consistent, and can reach out there in those t10 games. just my impressions because the harugumeme turrets on the Kii are very fun.

Skip for me. Even tho im a sucker for Dreadnaughts i think id never have as much fun in this thing as i can have with my Tirpitz which is much faster and reloads faster. And its also T8 which is one of the worst tiers for a premium. I only play them if its ranked. In randoms the painfull grind at T8 is enough already, no need to play T8 premiums there.
Lol Tirpitz is crap compared to the Atlantico. I love seeming Tirpitz on the other team because I know I can smash it while melting it down with superior secondaries.

Atlanticos speed is its biggest problem. Just today i had a triple div of Atlanticos which got farmed down by me and random teammates cause they were never able to come into secondary range.

Atlantico allegedly has good armour, in practice it isn't effective against ships with decent guns... you will miss german armour and hydro... if you want to try a non german brawler at T8 KII and Mass are both better options frankly.

I think atlantico is not even close to be the best tier 8 secondary battleship. Tirpitz is better as brawler, with better pen and better reload, and im not mencion the torps...
