    Hi!! great vid.....i have a question
    Should i be using fixative spray after using the soft oil pastels?

    • @muskndusk
      @muskndusk Před 2 lety

      For the soft chalkies, yes. And you can use it between layers if it's a workable fixative. If you're not bothered about archival properties, just use a cheap hairspray.

    Hi, I would like to have an opinion about the gallery artist's soft oil pastel. Can I use them on a 250 / 300gsm card? (a typical paper for cold pressed watercolors) Also do colors perform better on smooth paper or textured paper?

    • @muskndusk
      @muskndusk Před 2 lety

      Yes you can use them on card but if you want to layer them you'll need textured paper.

    Um, one of those is not an oil pastel. It's student grade Mungyo soft (dry) pastels, which is why it was chalky.

    What is the difference between mungyo SOFTpastels in blue box with the yellow box one?and which is better?

    • @ShezART1
      @ShezART1  Před 3 lety

      Soft pastels in the yellow box are just like chalk while the blue box ones are waxy.. watch the full video to know more about their texture and performance..

      @@ShezART1 i watched the whole video and im pertaining to soft pastels/chalkpastels,as i've bought a set in bluebox. Im just curious whats better or are they the same. Check it out coz there are 2 boxes in mungyo softpastels the yellow and the blue one.
      I also know about the oilpastels..the blue one is for student grade and the gallery/black box is for artist grade.

      I've work with oilpastels before and i know how they work and i know the difference between oil and softpastels. Also ive been eyeing the gallery because it performs better than that of the blue packaging(student grade).I have watched a lot of videos between the comparison of gallery and that blue but I cant find a video of comparison between the softpastels yellow and blue. I was just wondering if i bought the student or artist grade softpastels.

      @@marizsanchez2053 the yellow box soft pastels are student grade and the dark green/blue box that says Gallery are artist grade. There is another blue box that looks like the yellow which does not say Gallery, those are the same student grade pastels as the yellow but are full length sticks. The yellow box are half sticks.

    I see artist munyo oil pastel the word don't have soft like this video is using but same package I'm confused 🤔

    • @ShezART1
      @ShezART1  Před 3 lety +1

      The Artist Gallery Pastel is called "Artist's soft oil pastels" on the Box, while the Blue one is "Oil Pastels" and the Yellow box is "Soft pastels". I hope it is clear now🙂✨

  • @muskndusk

    Smooth paper won't allow for the application of many layers; for this, textured paper such as Ingres is better.
