One tip I can recommend is to allow time to explore the city rather than just going from attraction to attraction. For example, during my first visit to London I spent the time going to attraction to attraction via the tube. This meant I saw a lot but didn't really "experience" the city. For my next visit, I made sure to walk through the streets more and rely less on the subway. You can happen upon some amazing hidden gems by just walking around a city.
London?! Lord no.. Paris ftw!
I agree with you Damien. On one of my trips to Paris, I was dashing from one attraction to the next all in the subway. By the end of the trip, I felt like I had spent most of my days underground. Next visit I will do a lot more strolling on the streets and I will figure out the bus system so that I can see things as I go to my next attraction.
Too true, by walking we come across hidden gems. There are some wonderful parks off the main streets.
@@RedHeadAgent the bus system is easy and the best way to see the city.
@@JD987abcu can mix ur plans w both
My wife and I just returned from our 13th trip to Paris. The way we start each day on most our of trips is by visiting a park in the area of the city in which we're planning to spend the first part of the day. For instance, if we're going to the Champs-Élysées we'll first go to Parc Monceau, which is about a 15-20 minute walk from the Arc de Triomphe. We normally bring pastries and find a bench so we can watch Parisians start their day. And as was mentioned, parks in Paris open early so we can relax and enjoy the vibe of the city, then head to the shops and museums once they open. Also, Paris is way bigger than you think it is and it's very easy to get lost. If you do, instead of getting stressed out, just explore the area you're in. It may not be where you planned to be, but some of our best days in Paris were spent wandering areas we didn't intend to go to but were very happy we found.
I agree! Aimless wandering brings unexpected pleasure s, if you have the time for it. I spent 6 weeks wandering ( in chosen cities, villages and on small islands) in Ireland. Best trip ever.
💩 I’m so happy 😃 happy

An alternative to the Eiffel tower to view the city from very height, go to the Montparnasse tower. Less crowded, cheaper, same view. No need to purchase a tlmed ticket. 😊
Good tip. Just be ready to walk up 290+ steps! No elevators here.
@@fbomb7184 I visited Montparnasse Tower last March, there is an elevator to the top (70 floors) which is the fastest elevator on Europe, according to them. From the 70th floor, you can take stairs to the open terrace. I did not count the steps but it is no more than 5 flights. Maybe you are confusing this building to with the Arch of Triumph, which there is no elevator. 😄

I’ve been to Paris a few times on low tourist season late October to early November no lines anywhere plus there’s so many non touristy museums and interesting places to visit for free. The whole city IS a gorgeous & fascinating museum!!!
My wife and I are planning a trip to Paris in just a few weeks and I can’t thank you guys enough for the videos. It has become a Saturday morning tradition for us to watch and learn from you two. Thank you
For us too, Saturday morning just after breakfast is our time to enjoy our France visit. We too will be revisiting Paris and other cities in fall of 2023. We are so looking forward to our trip to enjoy many of the treats Frenchies have taught us how to find. Thank you for our Saturday morning treat and maybe we even catch a glimpse or a cafe visit with you in September.
When I visit Paris I like to plan one main attraction per day. This lowers the expectations, allows me to see a major attraction, and then most of the time there is bonus time left over to add in some extras that I didn't put on the list. It's relaxing and enjoyable this way. This is just a psychological trick to take the pressure off of having to schedule multiple things in one day.
A very good idea that shows a clever mind.
That’s the way to go. Then we can enjoy the wonderful food too. 😋
Quand on visite la France ou simplement Paris je vous conseil de choisir 2 ou 3 choses à visiter. Prenez le temps de respirer...
Really depends what counts as a major attraction tho. If Eiffel Tower counts, I'd say you're missing out. The Eiffel Tower only takes an hour or two, depending on queue.
Something like Versailles or La Nouvre however, is definitely a whole day trip.
Some great tips here - we just returned from our trip and a couple of tips that I would elaborate on. Transit times can be estimated fairly well using Google maps for public transit. I think it's possible to plan up to 2 major sights per day if you do one first thing in the morning and another mid to late afternoon. The excess free time is really key to be able to stop at random places to see things or grab a snack. Also, meal times at restaurants can be quite long, 2 hours+ in some cases. For reference, we walked about 25k steps per day and we still did a lot of breaks. Hope everyone has a great time and watch the rest of Les Frenchies channels - I found their recommendations to be on the money and a great starting point for your planning, both for sights and food!
We just got back from 14 days in France. I saw just about every video you made and they were spot on for accuracy. We did three days in Paris followed up with a river cruise to Le Havre and a bus ride to Saint Malo, D-Day Beaches, and Mt. Saint Michel. Taking everything you said, made things much easier. Pounding the streets of Paris ended up with over 10,00 steps per day and not seeing everything we planned on but loving everything we saw. We took the evening cruise on the Le Calife and it was magical with the Eiffel all aglitter. A "bon jour" here and a "merci" there went a long way to crossing the cultural gap. I knew there would be so much history, but I was surprised at the amount of beauty in each city, castle, and journey between cities (much better than a ride on I-95 in Palm Beach County)! Thanks for the info and the help.
Three very important tips: 1. Say Bonjour every time you enter a restaurant or any store in Paris. They appreciate the courtesy. 2. Say "Parles vous anglais" before starting to talk in english. Very important to show respect for their language. 3. No need to tip. Don't feel guilty for not tipping.😊
I have a Louvre tip for you, just in case you’d like to avoid the crowdy “head intrance “ use the intrance on the rue Rivoli (The large rue just behind the Louvre) You can also reach this intrance with the underground (metro) stop Louvre/rue Rivoli.
I cannot tell you both how much your channel has meant to us. We never even considered Paris as a destination for us, but your videos have ignited a burning desire to see it and eat our way through it. Thank you so much for all you put into these videos! ❤
I feel the same way!! You have lit a fire within. ❤
It would be great if you could do an episode on Paris for the handicapped. How handicap friendly is Paris/France/Europe? As a person with mobility issues this would be extremely helpful.😊
We went to Rome with a wheelchair. We had a guide and driver who spoke English and a wheelchair van. Unfortunately they went out of business during Covid. There is another company with an owner that uses a wheelchair himself. He does tours all over Europe. It Is Sage Travels. John Sage. We stayed at Hotel Ponte Sisto. We are going to London in June 2024. Premier Inn is wheelchair accessible. So is the London Eye. The Tower of London has limited wheelchair access but you get a discount. The London buses are wheelchair accessible. We are taking a daytrip to Paris. Eurostar from London to Paris can accommodate wheelchairs. G7 taxi can also. The Eiffel Tower has an elevator/lift.
There is also the Heathrow Express which takes you from the airport into London. It is wheelchair accessible. The Paris lunch/dinner boat ride recommended on You Tube Le Calife told me they accept wheelchairs.
I'm not handicapped but would offer that most European cities are a bit challenging for even those considered as "able bodied" simply because many still have cobblestone streets, sidewalks are narrow and stairs out number the elevators 😂 Do not let this discourage you from going though! If your travel partner is willing to assist then book a trip ❤
Always always always plan a lot of time to savor sitting in cafes watching Paris between walking and sightseeing. And a glass of wine or champagne at regular intervals. Ooh la la🇲🇫🇲🇫🇲🇫🇲🇫 thank you Les Frenchies for the very best series on Paris travel!
Bonjour! My wife Kelley & I (Michael) are so grateful to have found your channel. Antoine & Colleen, you’re both so kind & thoughtful that we always feel like we’re there with you. Superb content!
This video is so essential to us because we’re sitting down this weekend to talk about our Paris itinerary. And it’s vital because the 2020 quarantine ruined our 10 year anniversary - now we’re on our way!
Our visit consists of London, Colmar, Strausbourg, & finally, Paris. But it’s the latter that has our excitement & concerns peaked because it’s only 2 days. With 4 kids being left at home, this was all the time we could spare.
So, knowing how to spend our lovely time in this great city means everything to us. Romance & Adventure is the goal, but without sacrificing the former. ❤
We’re buying your travel guide today because we trust you, adore your relationship, and are delighted to have a vacation to remember.
Thank you so much for reading. Cheers! 🥂
This video was so enjoyable to me because it was a reminder of the many things I got to see while in Paris. I went in November of 1999.I can't believe it was so long ago. It was the trip of a lifetime and my memories are still vivid! I highly recommend people visit in the cooler months because it is less crowded. All you need to remember is to bundle up, dress in layers and bring a pocket umbrella.
That part about # of steps made me laugh because after my week in the city, eating all kinds of sweet pastries and rich foods, I still managed to lose a few pounds just from walking so much.
My tip is definitely to have a dinner reservation booked for every night, but keep your mornings and afternoons open. It's much easier to walk in to a place for breakfast or lunch than it is to get a good table for dinner unplanned. Every day I had 1 major attraction and a dinner table booked somewhere, and I filled the rest of the time on a whim.
We literally just got back from a week-long trip to Paris last night. It was wonderful and we had a great time, but I feel like we really just scratched the surface. We saw many of these major attractions and missed some others but it was okay because we enjoyed everything that we did see. Oh, and that jetlag is no joke! The second day we woke up and realized it was noon. We slept half the day away! 😄😄😄
When I went toParis I had no problem adjusting to the time difference. I had been running. Since I was fit I had no problem walking around the city. I had been to NY 6 weeks earlier and you can a lot of walking in NY.
This is so good! I am a lucky American who has moved to Paris, and your tips completely conform to my experience(and that of family & friends!)….thanks for your videos.
Am here now in Paris. It’s lovely weather. Yes, you’re right, have walked about 20,000 steps each day. The best activity so far is the Batobus Hop-on Hop-off Seine cruise. I decided on the 24 hour ticket (also 48 hour). Did a whole circuit that stops at major attractions. Then return to chosen attraction, Le Louvre, Place de la Concorde, Eiffel Tower, Musee D’Orsay, Notre Dame, Jardin des Plantes, Hotel de Ville. Excellent suggestions, thx.
i was there last week !! walking for 7 hours ! two nights is enough for me , i cnt wait to get out of there! to many cigarettes smoke left and right ! cant enjoy the cafe for these reason !!! Paris is majestic! its just tourist trap!!
This is a fantastic video. A must see for planning your trip to Paris.
Definitely!
Great video!
I just got back from Paris and having done all of these sites, I can say without a doubt that this video is spot on. I really loved watching Les Frenchies videos before my trip, and I can't wait to go again and try more of their recommendations - excellent video!
We just came back from an AMAZING trip to Paris and we were quoting/referencing your videos all trip long! Merci Les Frenchies! 🙂

Great content! Full of HELPFUL information!!! Glad to have found your channel. Now to start planning a trip to Pairs! 🥂
Great job guys ! A lot of useful advices, makes me want to spend a day in Paris as a tourist !
We had a wonderful anniversary trip to Paris in May. The main sights were amazing but we made sure to relax and have a wine and cheese at an outdoor cafe most afternoons. People living in Paris really know how to enjoy the moment.
Your videos are so informative and fun to watch, made us feel prepared and excited for our trip. You have a warm, friendly approach and clearly love Paris. We were hoping to run into you on our travels. 😊 I shared your channel with other people planning to go or interested in Paris. We’ll keep watching your channel, waiting for our chance to return to Paris one day.
Thanks!
Very well documented!
These are all very helpful information, thank you so much 😊
Great tips, I wish I’d seen this video before my trip! It’s not cheap but the evening river cruise is great value. It’s a relaxing way to see so much of Paris at night (when I personally wouldn’t roam the streets far), includes a meal and live music all whist you cover considerable geographical range. Many of the buildings were illuminated and some of my most treasured photos were taken around sunset from the boat. Just my two cents.
Thank you sooooooo much for this! :)
Love the new and improved quality of audio and production, as a cinematographer myself. Going back to Paris later this fall and next year. Love this city. Would love to see some tips and/or series dedicated to the Olympics. Planning to qualify for the open marathon.
Such excellent recommendations from people who know. Thank you. ❤
This was an excellent video, thank you! I love videos like this that gives actual details for first time visitors, I took lots of notes for further research. I love the part about saying whether the area is expensive or not, what sites are near the metro and estimated travel times were all A+ information. I look forward to watching more of your videos. Thank you
Great tips and video! We will be there in a few weeks! Thanks for this information, Cheers Chris and Jim!
Thank you for another great video! There is so much to do in Paris that one can be even single focused (for example, I may concentrate on finding beautiful doorways on my next trip rather than go to the touristy sites) and still have a great trip! One thing for sure that I'm going to do is try to hit as many patisseries as possible so I have to plan the routes, the timing, and days on which they are open.
All by Foot - except Metro to Sacre Coeur and return from Galerie Lafayette. Intermittent rainy and wind all days. Skipped Champ Elysee, Eiffel Tower, Bateaux Mouche as we had done all that on our previous trip. Day 1 - Marais, Day 2 - Marais, Notre Dame, Latin Quarter, Day 3 - Sacre Coeur (Climbed all the way up) and attended the 11 am Mass, Momarte, Moulin Rouge, Latin Quarter, St. Chapelle. Day 4 Walked down Rue Rovoli all the way to Galerie Lafayette. Louvre, Place De La Concorde on the way. Day 5 - Marche Bastille, Quartier Chinois, Dinner at Tresor Restaurant. I love Paris. Thank you, Frenchies.
We loved the Rodin Museum and Musee de l’Armee during our honeymoon visit in 2010. I think we’re due for another trip there. This is a wonderful channel!
Spot on. I have been planning this trip for the past year, and you guys have guided me all the way. I know this is going to be physically challenging to me, I'm not young anymore...so, I'm really gonna keep it at one attraction a day, for sure!
I’m currently in Paris and have really appreciated the information in your videos. Merci beaucoup!
Thanks for the tip Damien. I’ll be there next week and will def do a bit of walking.
Les Franchies I really hope I run into you both while I’m there 😁 I’ve been watching your videos since I booked my trip. Thank you!!
Excellent suggestion well done 👍
I've just recently found your channel and I just want to tell you how much I am enjoying your videos. I'll be in Paris for the first time in November and these videos are so helpful. Thanks!
I was feeling anxious about my trip and now I feel so at ease after watching your videos ! Thank you !!!!!
Thank you for all your videos, information and tips. It helped a lot! ❤
Enjoy your travels!
You’re very accurate on all the times. And combined with your other videos on places to eat, it makes for the perfect visit to Paris ❤ All of your recommendations for food were extraordinary!! We can’t wait to be back ❤
@@LesFrenchiesTravel we definitely have to. Probably either next year or the one after for sure. You’re also welcome to come to Montréal ;)
Thank u for this wonderful video n for your guide on how to plan d itinerary in Paris. Flexible n realistic plan is much better to enjoy an exploration.

Thanks for your vidio. Very easy to understand and no waste of any time 😊
I love your videos, thanks a lot. Kudos!

Such a good and comprehensive video, simply amazing! I was planning a trip to paris with my family and kids after watching your video it's made things so much easier to decide and plan out. Really good, pratical and helpful tips! TOP! 💯
Glad I found your channel! Currently planning a visit to Europe & looking to spend around 5 days in Paris Dec 2023. These videos have been a huge help trying to work out the what, where, how & timings. Merci!
Thank for another great video, it showed us the mistakes we made in the past, in 17 we tried to go the catacombes, see the towet and Monmartre in the same day...we were exhausted. Our last visit in 19 we had Saturday and Sunday there on our way to Napoli, the Jardin de Luxembourg was amazing.
@Les Frenchies it was, but hey we live and learn 😂
The best site for info. Love it.
Fun Stuff! 👍😊
I'll be there at the end of the month for the French Open - can't wait!
We just returned from Paris and your videos were extremely helpful. It was my 2nd trip, my husband's first, or daughter's third and a first for another couple in our group. We used many of your recommended restaurants and locations. One thing I would mention is rain can greatly impact your trip. Unfortunately both of my trips have been rainy almost the entire time and a little chilly. That does put a damper on being able to do things outside and enjoy them or just walking around becomes slightly more challenging. We came prepared with rain coats and umbrellas but we still were wet if we had to walk any distance beyond 10 minutes. 3 of our party caught a cold while there and got to experience French pharmacies. Other than those 2 minor set backs, we had a marvelous time and we are already wanting to return.
Hello
We are traveling to France in late May with our 2 kids (2 and 5 year) and just wanted your opinion if that can be doable? W
Day-1-5: Paris
Day-6-7: Versailles and Lyon
Day-8-9: Nice, Cannes
Day-10: Monaco day trip
Day-11: Return back
Please advise because we have 2 small kids and suggest if we can omit some city but we like to go Nice, Cannes and Monaco for sure.
Thanks a lot in advance.
This video is really helpful. I'm planning a trip to Paris and this is probably the most helpful video that I've seen of yours so far, as I'm trying to plan my itinerary
Great ❤
I would also love an episode on music venues, again, big to small, and different styles of music too.
I am here now and enjoying many things that you have recommended. Less is more for sure. Rain can also slow you down.
Thank you for your videos!!! I am in Paris right now (2nd) and was able to see how to go from CDG and navigate the Metro. You both made my trip better. Un abrazo muy fuerte!!!
Ty guys for all the tips!! As I write this in the Jacobine ❤
Hello! i just want to thank you for your videos🥰! We are going in June and our itinerary was made based in all your tips! Before going to paris, we are going to Milan, i just wish that were a great couple like you there to posting those kind of tips!
Very imformative
If you plan a tourist attractions, plan it on days that have open market near by get your lunch there and really absorb Paris.
Thank you for this! I'm going to Paris in December (for New Years) and this is a great resource. There are always so many "x factors" for things I want to see wherever I travel, so I am so glad you put this together. It makes it so much easier to plan.
Check sunrise and sunset times. Much less daylight in winter
Thankyou for your wonderful work. Not only is this informative but your presentation style is lovely and relaxed. Would you consider doing a video on hiring cars and driving in France?
Very, very helpful. I can attest to "just winging it" as I have done (sort of fun) but you get very tired and don't see all that you thought you would. Your advice is solid.
Bonjour Antoine and Colleen. Great information. We came to Paris as an extension of a Rhine river cruise. We went the minimalist route. One day at Versailles. One evening at Montmartre. A week is not enough time to see all we wanted to see. We were there for only 3 days. Nous reviendrons!🙏😀
This is a wonderful video, full of essential information, but done in a nice and friendly manner. It gives you a lot of advice to help you maximize your stay in Paris and environs. Great job. 👏
@@LesFrenchiesTravel - You're welcome. All your videos not only have wonderful information, but they also provide the viewers with a nice perspective of the day to day lifestyle of the French people, and how best we can interact with them in a very positive manner. Again....great job on these.
Cant wait!! Will be traveling there next week! Hopefully we dont get lost 😅
I prefer your videos more than videos in my native language.
I like the easy delivery of information, the editing is excellent, the explanations are clear without unnecessary words.
You made me love Paris even before I got there.😊
so thank you
Keep up the good work 👍
