--- Mud crabbing in the Northern Territory near Borroloola on a professional mud crab fishing boat. But Ash's secret weapon is a new mothership he has bought. It's an old Barramundi fishing boat that was used in Queensland. He is using it as a houseboat to put him straight on to the mud crabbing grounds.

Mate i have only just come across your channel but i am amazed at the videos on these crabbers , did a bit of time in townsville and used to do some crabbing there but no where near the capacity of these blokes .My hat goes of to them hard work in a bloody hot climate but at the end of a day what a place to live and work reminds me of a phrase from the castle movie "can you feel the serenity " . One thing i didnt understand was why old mate didn just hang of while the houseboat was launched and circle for a minute or two nearly wiped out his tinnie people seem to just not think sometimes .
Yes mate, the fella was completely oblivious to what was going on. He could have also easily pulled in on the up-wind side too. Would have made things a little less hairy. Haha.

It's 2022, and releasing fish is a whole new ball game fellas. You need to get in the water and swim the fish, then release.
Re the crab being soft. What do you expect? Don't press down like that, but gently rub the area and I'm sure it will go hard.
You’ll have to come and give us a demo of the water release mate.

Nah I don’t think so mate. These fellas all go through agents who package, sell and ship the crab for them.
Plan a trip to the NT. Catch plenty for yourself and eat them until you feel sick. Haha.

Me and my parents and family commercially mudcrab macarther river 30yrs ago it was so good back then even the town has changed so much and the mine has fucked the place these days
Crikey the place must have changed a bit in 30 years. You must have a few stories to tell from back then.
I first visited the McArthur in 2010 I reckon. So 12 years ago.
I loved it back then and love it still now.
