    Thank you Sir for sharing thus knowledge.. How I wish one day there could be a gathering of many knowledgeable people who have this knowledge where a robust discussion and sharing could be initiated in order to find a way to get closer to the common understanding. I say thus because as one scrolls CZcams you find a lot of these discussions and here and there there are differing understandings etc which are confusing in terms of ascertzining which one is more accurate. Just sharing a respectful thought and to thank you for the effort to share what you know it hoe's a long way and highly appreciated.. Be blessed with goodness in abundance❤

    Issues of tribe names apply to many tribes. The name ndebele name was given to Zulus who left Natal through Free State and Lesotho. The sothos saw Zulus carrying spears and assegais and they said that they have carried 'thebele' hence matebele. Let us not crack our heards with names of tribes, it will further divide us.

      Ndebele were Khumalo not Zulu. Mzilikazi's father Moshobana was killed by Zwide king of the Ndwandwe and Mzilikazi went to seek an alliance with the Zulu to avenge his father's death. Mzilikazi a Khumalo saw that the Zulu had become formidable force under Sigidi who is popularly known as Shaka.

    No Karangas are the immediate neighbours of the Ndebele. The rest so called Shona tribes are not Karanga, but are who they are. For example the Manyika have no claim to the Karanga but have differing history of their origins and migrations. To cut the long story short, the Karanga is also a given name, as they are Kalanga, most of them were East of the Ndebele, or "ka Langa" from whence sun (rises). That is also tied in with the Ndebele description, "abetshonalanga", those that come from the East, or literally from whence the sun rises. That is shortened to "Amatshona" or simply "Shona"!

      Let's just check... isn't 'eNtshonalanga' meaning roughly 'when the sun goes down' and also that 'endthonalanga" would refer to the West?? I might be wrong.

    • @thembinkosihlatshwayo5903
      @thembinkosihlatshwayo5903 Před 2 měsíci +1

      I might also add to check..,the East is "Mpumalanga" which refers to the direction from where the sun rises... Just check.. I might be wrong.

    I always thought something about “Shona” was suspicious when I looked into the history of Mapungubwe and Great Zimbabwe. The research claimed those kingdoms were “Shona speaking” and I felt as if that was a tactic to erase and confuse the real and true identity of the inhabitants of those kingdoms. That’s just my two cents.

    • @livingfaith9189
      @livingfaith9189 Před rokem

      You need to be corrected because you are dense and ignorant. The very same Shona people were named by Professor Doke to group Karanga groups together to form a language. A Kalanga and Karanga have the same ancestor from Mapungubwe. Shona people are originally Karanga and their language is the same with the Kalanga dialect ChiNambya. An untrained ear will think Nambya is "Shona". Shona people have their ruins near Harare as well like everyone which are 200 in total in the SADC region. Of course you are not Nyai and its not your history wouldn't "get it". Karanga and Kalanga people have the same ostrich feather head gear from when they left Great Zimbabwe and former separate federations.
      Concentrate on your Nguni History instead. You can never separate people who have the same ancestor. Sies

    Saw this man lying abt eNtumbane battles on some video, spoke to a lot of ZPRAs who dismissed his utterances with contempt, the man must be careful not to be a tool of misinformation & disinformation. We already seeing propaganda on Ztv, this man must be careful with what he says if yu see him tell him I said he lied on his eNtumbane battles story

    I disagree with this myth that the name shona came with Ndebeles it was just a fabricayed fable. From the beginning Ndebeles didn't have sha, sha, shi, sho, shu they have tsha, tshe, tshi, tsho, tshu. All words or names with these consonants like Shaka became Tshaka, Mashobane/Matshobane. I think we must look from other names that became word shona not the Ndebele version of bashonephi.

      The word Ndau or Ndawo means place and as such is Not Exactly by origin a Karanga langauage even as they use Karanga words. These are Sithole,Sibiya,Mthethwa etc clearly Zulu words. Just visit places in the Chipinge areas where most Ndau is spoken and the names of the shops eg at Chisumbanje will help you realize what I am saying.

      @@mukodoborijakafiriri8698 that’s true there is heavy Nguni influence but we are still related to the rest of the “Shona”. I find political unrest tied with “Shona tribe” as a whole is what has created this sense of inner division that you spoke of, how people will violently deny their heritage.
      As for us Ndaus.
      The original Ndau were Karanga ir an offshoot, hence why we are still regarded as part of Karanga “nation” and why Ndau language is more intelligible with “Shona languages” and not Nguni.
      Nguni raiders settled among us influencing our culture and language - hence why we have clicks and Nguni surnames (some, not all Ndau people have Nguni originated surnames, some surnames are the same as everyday “Shona” people, or lean towards Manyika surnames).
      The Ndau heritage mixes as so: Makaranga, Manyika, Shangani, Nguni (Zulu, Swati, Ndwandwe (especially), Khumalo among others), Khoisan and Chopi (the last two are minor influence).
      My family for example us from Chipinge, although some migrated to Bikita and Zaka - my family is Ndau and Karanga due to intermarrying. I am part of the generation that migrated to Bikita. Due to excessive Karanga influence we are either Karanga or Ndau depending on which family member you ask😂. My family speak Ndau though it’s influenced with Karanga a lot😂😂

    I have just finished researching or googling abt the origins of the name Shona .What l found out was that the name Shona was or Indian or Arabic origin meaning beautiful .The came to that conclusion because of the minerals and the beauty of the place they saw .Some say they were two brothers Mushore and Mushona who were brothers ..Mushore went further down into South Africa and begot the Venda clan all the way from Tanzania .Yes , because it is oral history, it is bound to be distorted as it is handed down from one generation to another .Why did you put the title about the ndau people yet they is nothing ABT that in your video .As for me because of that is just a turn off !

    Because God made a new contract with Israel with Jesus Christ the word of God Jesus Christ is the word that God used to create the universe. He put it in a body John 1 and gave it a soul and spirit and it was that word that created all things that redemption was made for his people first us then for the heatherns Christ made a sacrifice for the black nations of Israel first at the cross when they mocked him he was making an atonement for them they didn't even know this was a change in the order of priest hood which at this point he became the priest after the order of Melchizedek not Arron which is over

    Please do proper research before you put mediocre stuff on this platform .You must base your story one source .You don't even know madialects eShona yacho ... honestly guys look for sth that will benefit everyone .Build our beloved Zimbabwe up ...yes,Even those west they have bad leaders but because they love their countries they do anything to betty their country . Besides as Christians we are supposed to pray for our leaders so that we live in peace ,if we don't that's when a lot of things happen bad governance for e.g .We need to go back to God whole heartedly .Some president of a certain colonising country is on record for say "invade Iraq was a mistake ...yes ask Julius Malema he knows the person .My question is how many innocent lives where lost during the invasion .They is a lot of covering up around in the world of abuses on humans by the countries that l for one though kt were are supposed to be our saviour from the situation in Zim .They tend to highlight the bad elsewhere .Who doesn't know by now kt who is behind most conflicts in Africa and everywhere .Wiseup Africa you are the solution to the problems you face ...As a parting short do you know kt a lot of inventions where made by black Americans but they don't teach us that in school Yes ! I even googled to see if it was true abt these inventions .Africa is blessed all it needs was just a little railroaading to get us of course and the manipulate us !One day is one Zimbabwe !soon
