I was feeling nostalgic, so I did a search for Albrook and diablo elementary. What a treat to find this video. Thank you for posting this. I was glad to see so many familiar places and to have my memories jogged. Then when I saw 8 year old me with my flat top hair at the bus stop in my acid washed, tight-rolled jeans I could hardly believe it. My brother and sister, too. I truly hope you're doing well, Danny. I wasn't always kind to you and I'm very sorry about that. Thanks again for posting this video, it made my day. If you have any other footage from those days I hope you'll consider sharing it.

I lived on Albrook AFB from 84-88. I went to Fort Kobbe Elementary, my brother went to Curundu and Balboa HS and my sister graduated from Balboa HS in 1988. If you ever lived there a part of you stays when you leave. You don't appreciate it when you're a child, but Panama is one the most beautiful places in the world.

We all agree it was just a paradise to grow up there. I went to Diablo Elem. from 1967 to 1971. 4 glorious years of playing outside all the time. Using the boards to ride down the hills during the rainy season. Sloths, snakes, giant earthworms, bats, tarantulas, ...as a kid I was fearless! We lived on Albrook AFB and I got so teary eyed just seeing the white houses with red tiles. First time I've seen them since 1971! We used to vacation in Santa Clara . Thank you for posting!

I believe we were the wildest bunch, ever !! any of the old gun implacments still there? We used to get greasy crawling on them. They were huge! Loved the base buses! And the swimming pool!! Jumped off the tower on a dare & learned to swim as soon as I hit the water & girls got no quarter!! There will never be another childhood like mine!! Betty

many of us currently young people from the metropolitan areas see this as anemoia, as hard as it is anyone would like to have a quality of life as great as the one they had, many would give anything to go back to the old days, it would have been excellent that they had administered the CZ no longer as an enclave, but as a panamanian province as an autonomous entity, sadly after 1979 a large part of the zonians migrated to the southern states

Other people have different experiences and points of views. And you can't see the world sooo black and white; it isn't, it wasn't and it won't be.
The video brings memories, sweet memories to many. These memories have value to many.
