    For the Genesis, composite is preferred over HDMI. It has to do with some games heavily using dithering (relying on the blurring composite has to generate intermediate colors by placing a darker and a lighter color side by side rather than using a pixel of the actual color). If it was unfiltered HDMI Sonic and some other games would look absolutely bad.

      I prefer the Super NES version just for the sole fact that it has all the playable characters and bosses since no one has to fight over which one gets to be the shotgun guy in 2P mode. The Genesis version is an interesting enough remix of the game to stand on its own though.

    • @usagijojo
      @usagijojo Před 7 lety +1

      In some ways, yes. SNES has more unique stages, although I think the number of total stages might be the same, just the Genesis recycles each stage twice. SNES music is closer to the arcade's, although I do LOVE the slap bass sound they used on Genesis. But I think as is usual for Genesis vs. SNES, the game moves faster and feels more responsive on Genesis (primary advantage Gen has is a faster CPU, and it's a 68K to boot - arcade standard CPU of the time). Overall I do think SNES has the upper hand due to the greater number of unique stages, but Genesis is worth playing too if you love Sunset Riders and/or want to hear badass bass guitar music while playing.

      I never understood the fascination with UMK3. MK Trilogy is just a better version of it.

      +Harperlarp Mortal Kombat Trilogy is not on the Sega Genesis though. The Sega Genesis port of Ultimate MK3 itself is still a fantastic fighting game and is the largest fighting game ever made for the Sega Genesis (with over 25 selectable characters, how could one not enjoy it).

      Voan Siam Fair enough. I was already onto my PS1 when I got MK3. Never played an MK on mega drive past number 2.

      Ultimate MK 3 on Genesis has emulation problems so they couldn't use it. The cart would always go into a blue screen of death while playing on the Genesis 3, if anyone remembers that model.

    That system comes out every year around the holidays. I got one a few years back.
