Your channel is very interesting. It reminds me of the bygone days when my husband and I had our farm with sheep and goats. Of course we had border collies, wonderful dogs. I think that if we hadn't sold the farm my husband wouldn't have become so ill because he was physically active then, but who knows?

Our Border Collie, Duncan, would ride the tractor with my husband. Only place to sit was by the gear shift in the middle of the tractor on an Oliver 1650. When my husband put his hand on the gear shift, Duncan would lean to the side to let him shift then lean back till the next shift. Best dog in the world!
There’s a good Scottish name Duncan
My dad's border collie would ride on the tractor when he was a kid, sitting behind him, and she knew to lean into his back at certain times so she wouldn't fall off. His stories of that dog are some of my favourites. I wish I'd gotten to meet her before she passed.
@@seitzen88 I love that. We lived in western Nebraska and all the farm dogs there are born to pick up trucks. They ride on the tool boxes. We got carpet pieces to glue on so the dogs can grip better. They also know when to lean on a curve.
That’s a lovely story of Duncan, these dogs are so incredibly intelligent and switched on. Our border collie West is too clever for his own good as they say 🐕😆🏴
@@monaquilts4679they're so much smarter than a lot of other dogs haha. I knew a dog who would take at least 45 minutes to get comfortable in a car... Every single ride. When she was in a car multiple times a week.

Country girl and now mountain girl. Happy to see you show folks how HARD farmers work everyday! Rain or shine, warm or cold etc. So nice that you have your wonderful dogs to share your day with you. Farmers are "the salt of the earth" truly. Had a child of a friend that wanted a horse. She came and spent a week with us, in wintertime, and found the truth of owning horses. She decided she really didn't want one that bad. Hilarious! Good job kiddo. You truly ARE a hard worker. Thanks

That was interesting about the cows overheating indoors unless you shave their hair on top. I feel the same way in the summer when my hair needs a trim. 😊

Hey I love your channel from Alaska. Looks wet and not so nice but I bet when it is beautiful it is gorgeous, like here. It can be at each end of that spectrum here between long winter, short, spring, summer, and fall but worth it all the way. Love your dogs, sheep, cows and your responsible care for all, your wife is beautiful and you are a very skilled man who cares for all of your creation. Yes we create our own reality. Great job.

We love your videos, Sean. My 1-year-old Border Collie watches them and barks like mad when the dogs jump from the 4-wheeler and start Hearding. And she has leant ''come by'', in the sense she runs to the TV for some ''Sean the Sheepman" content. Echo is my favorite of your pack, a beautiful dog and very handsome young lad with a great temperament. He has grown into a great sheepdog too.
Our collies both do fly ball and agility down here in Aus. We are on a horse property where they get plenty of training each day in the paddocks, no matter the fickle weather where we are, down south. They are our lives. Thanks for the great content, mate. It's our fav CZcams channel.
I did not know that about shaving the cows backs to regulate heat. Remarkable. Every winter I probably ask you the same question: Why don't you wear gloves? That is some nice proper wet weather gear you were wearing plus a hat on your head.
In the beginning, Kate was so excited to go to work as usual, giving out her little 'yips'. So sweet. Hearing her makes my heart ache and my tummy, the seat of my emotions, gets all squishy. I love her so.
I know Kate can take up for herself, but when I saw Storm bowling her over out in the field, I yelled at my screen. 'Stop it, Storm. Don't knock your mom over like that, naughty girl.' I think that's pretty much their routine, as I've seen it happen before. I can't get used to it. I'm very protective of Kate.
Question: Isn't this about the time you normally start breeding for the early lambs? I thought I saw some dye on the rumps of some sheep not too long ago. Does that mean you've already begun?

Thank you...I really enjoy your vids...I don’t have to do the hard work...just watch😉....where I live, from this month (November) it’s the law that everyone using a quad bike must wear a helmet and undergo training...this is because there have been several incidents with quads 🤩

I’d prefer that you keep the site about your dogs, your family, the sheep, and the farms you work rather than reaction videos. Now having said that, I have to admit I know little about sheep herding or Scotland so through your videos I’ve come to really appreciate both! The scenery is absolutely amazing and very relaxing.
