They look like younger versions of themselves before they turned bad.
I am just saying, but what about mother G.? She has always been young before she died.
@@chequehost7970 True but I'm sure she had been a child and a teen before all that.
They still looks the same but a bit.
The disney circle of life:
sad backstory-hero-happy ever after-sadness-villain
Ursula looks like a sweet ol grandma and I love it đ„°
Ursula looks like she should be singing "I need a hero" while laying on a piano while her son tries to trick a princess into kissing him.
Love the Shrek 2 reference!
Yep..I was like I see Fairy Godmother
YES
Lmao, "kissing him"
LMFAOOO
Next challenge:
Good characters as Disney Villains
DEWITTT XD
Yes yes yes
Yes please! I want to see an evil Ariel!
She already made one video
For Peter Pan, she would just draw Peter Pan... I mean he has a mile long list of offences... from criminal mischief, to kidnapping children, to attempted murder!! Captain Hook is Peter's victim, not his villain lol.
It's all about their eyes.. Their eyes become kind and then the whole person changes
Legitimate facts
I see...
See what I did there?
Lol
Agreed
this conment was the most attention i have gotten in my life and i regretted it
Ikr
Disney aims for a visual language, making good seem appealing, and being evil not so much. Anime kind of feeds the preference of a ''bad boy/girl'', which is basically a mentality of most people today. Everyone wants to appear as bad, sarcastic and sexy.
Real life:
Attractive nice guys AND a-holes, ugly nice guys AND a-holes
IKR
Excuse me, are you calling Dr. Facilier, Jafar and Iago ugly?
It could be fun to draw Disney good guys into Disney Bad Guys ^--^
I second this
I third this.
Same I commented that right before I saw this one
yeah! great idea!
Yeshhh! Agreed
My fav disney villain is Yzma from the emperor's new groove because
1. She turned into a funny cat
2. She has the funniest sidekick
3. She has the most hilairious design
So, its actually because shes funny
calvin posumah Oh yeah itâs all coming together.
The Emperorâs New Groove is a seriously underrated movie
4. She is Voldemort's sister
@@H0SANNA ikr
@@H0SANNA true
Ursula looks like a mix between Elsa and the fairy God mother.
Yeah kinda.
It looks like Ariel and fairy godmother
Well, she is just an evil version of the fairy god mother
@@agnesongrea-ilano3523 - I thought similarly. Ursula was definitely giving off Fairy Godmother vibes.
#teamDisney
I think she looks more like mrs potts
So basically, Disney make their heroâs younger and attractive, and their villains older with more exaggerated features.
Yeah
Pretty much
aprilblenk yes.
Yea
Y did u comment this?
Scar is my favorite Disney villain. Why? Because he was the only villain to actually win, even if it was for like a couple of years.
Same!!!
His goals (his terrible, terrible goals) were accomplished and even when he was killed by the hyenas, in the end, he died as he wanted: as the feared king of pride rock
@@axt6570 yeah, but if simba didn't come back to the pridelands Scar would die in a couple of years, or less than that, cause he was old! (when simba was just a cub Scar was already an adult lion)! Gothel's story, for example, was a whole different thing cause if Rapunzel didn't escape from the tower she would never know the truth, and she would continue with her magic hair and the rejuvenation rituals, making Gothel being younger than she really was. ... wow, i guess i'm big disney fan and im not even american lol
@@axt6570 and jafar!!!
Poor Gaston in this case lol. One villain who was constantly denied and never came close to what he wanted.
@@mrlightbluesky You don't have to be American to like Disney. I'm not Korean but I love Bts. I'm not Japanese but I love anime đ
I absolutely loved Urusla! I love that you didn't make her thinner!
Mykl Colton She did though.
She didnât make nice Ursula thin, but she definitely made her thinner.
She went from morbidly obese to the heavier side of chubby.
Valid point.
Yeah
Yep
@Fallen Angel patriarchy and gross beauty standards and stuff.
Definition of good and evil by disney:
Good: round objects
Evil: sharp objects
Disney Logic.
@@crochetcharms not excactly, i bet many people sees the world like that
@@crochetcharms Not actually though! This heavily relates to shapes being representive of certain character traits in a design, which is very common. It's usually Circle* vs. Rectangle** vs. Triangle*** Sharper lines are often used on unfriendly characters, and by extension, villains.
* We perceive circles and ovals as friendlier shapes. They're soft and comforting.
** A rectangle or square represents stability or familiarity. (Also, this might just be me, but my mind associates rectangles with intelligence).
*** The angular triangle is often used in villain characters. It is sharp, which we associate with things like... broken glass, as an example. _They have sharper points._
gunpowder-gelatin wow. It seems like you know so much about it. Respect. đđ»
@@crochetcharms I didn't get a notification for your reply but thank you! I did check some of my information first, though it'd be cool if I was just an information God.
Ursula look like a sea fairy godmother ^^
I THOUGHT THE SAME THING! đđ
Nargis Paulina Klisiewicz me toođđđ
Vicky Cipher ikr!
they look so bland... you can keep their caracteristic without just drawing a good guy making a cosplay of them
Vicky Cipher yessss
Now I want to see disney princesses as villans đđđ
ChrisDeri oh my gosh yessss
I second the motion!
Everyone like this so that she will!! đ
dont ruin my childhood
That would be cool
Ursula: Genuinely helps people with their problems through her magic out of the kindness of her heart with no strings attached.
Jafar: Offers proper advice to the Salton, gives Aladdin his hand instead of a dagger, and uses the Genie's magic to bring about global peace and happiness.
Mother Gothel: Did right by Cassandra.
Captain Hook: Goes on adventures with Peter Pan, blaming himself for his injury and nobody else.
Cruella Deville: Runs a fashion company that makes great strides in the field of synthetic fur, as well as a charity for homeless puppies.
I like to call this AU "The Zero-Conflictverse"
Yo, that's solid! Why does this not have more likes?
I could imagine Jafar using his powers to protect Aladdin from his enemies and being the older brother figure he's lacking.
Captain Hook looked really handsome as an ally rather than an enemy!
Yes right? đ He's my favorite villain and this draw of him is so exciting (âȘâœâȘ)
Agreed!! Instead of a villain, he comes across as a dashing hero ready to defend his allies....
I see that as a fun rivalry instead
do good disney characters as bad disney characters! :D
you know, like the opposite of this! ^^
+Ashleyplz is it just me or is your profile pic extremely disturbing
+Nadia Hr it is very disturbing...
+DrawingTaco its just a frame from a pony movie XD

Next do good guys drawn as villains. That'd be so cool.

Sounds like fanfic ideas. They probably exist by now actually but Iâm to scared to look.
Antagonist if this were true:
The little mermaid: Her father
Aladdin: her father agian
Rapunzel: Her family
Peter pan: (I couldn't think of one, mabye the father agian)
101 Dalmatians: The owners
Note: Wow, out of all the villians, I never noticed the minority of disney villains that are related to the antagonist. Can u tell me the villians that are related to the antagonist?
Marissa Sullivan the only one I can think of off the top of my head right now is scar (simba's uncle)
Then there are the ones like Merida where the antagonist isn't really a person but an idea, so I guess those might work, ish?
@@marissasullivan7356 Ursula was actually Ariel's Aunt
Ursula helps Ariel get away from her over protective father to go to the surface to explore and meet the man of her dreams
Anyone else thinks that black-and-white nice Gothel almost looks like one of the muses from Hercules?
Y E S S S S S
YAAAAAAS GIRL!!
Yep. DEFINITELY!!!!!!!
Now that you say that, she does!
I was just about to make the same comment. Glad I'm not the only one that saw that. :-)
A harder challenge would be to keep their Features the same and put them in âfriendly positionsâ or positive expressions.
Like the first reference photo of Cruella, I wouldnât think she was evil with that smile. đ
They donât have to look like the protagonist to be good.
I definitely injoyed this though great work
Aha! One of dislikers
@@mikhailbjornsson1874 Read the end. They said that they enjoyed this video.
The comment said he/she liked the work... Read the whole comment next time.
i agree . to be kind no one needs to look good.
The problem is that she keep designing them after the young disney protagonists and they wouldn't look like that even if they were good guys
Who else thinks it so satisfying when she does long lines against the paper with the black pen?
anna beth smith yes!!
anna beth smith
Yes! Also, something that I truly suck at when it comes to drawing. I always mess that up! XD
That's always the best part when drawing. Once I went through old sketch books of mine and outlined any that weren't done and it was awesome
anna beth smith me...
Me !!!
Captain hook looks like he's from Pirates of The Caribbean if it had a cartoon adaptation, I love it. Honestly I look at his face how you drew it and think Will Turner.
Its the nose and mustache, Orlando Bloom is so attractive đđđđ
O was thinking he looked like he did in the pirate fairy lol
I was looking for this comment, was thinking the exact same thingđ
Ursula looks like a teenage version of her before she became villain
âąUrsala: helping anyone in need. She'll even help Ariel get Price Eric to love her and even helping King Trident ease up on Arial.
âąJafar: will only seek out the man with a heart of gold. And even discourage others from doing wrong. Feeding the poor. Would rather be the advisor to the sultan
âąMother Gothal: would babysit Rapunzel and even let her go out and explore the world around her and even help Rapunzel find her true love
âąCaptain hook: is best friends with Peter Pan, helps the lost boys explore and adventure to new places. Is like a father figure to the lost boys and to Peter Pan. Lost his hand while helping out one of the lost boys escape danger
âąCruella DeVile: helps puppies find forever homes. Wears fake fur. Will help any stray find forever homes.
maddy miller omg thats soo cool good job
maddy miller no cause mother gothel would not even have stolen repunzel
4ever sisters thatâs why she said baby sit
maddy miller you are really creative! I could never think of back stories as good as yours!
Jafar would be like an older brother figure to Jasmine, fight Aladdin because he thinks he wants to marry Jasmine for her wealth, when he finds that he truly loves her, he lets them marry
They all seems younger... Interesting , a neat discovery about disney making their villains older
You either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain.
Yeah I'd've liked to see them drawn as good guys but without changeing their age
Also, if theyâre good, theyâre eyes are big
goldenegg8of100 well disney films are geared towards children, who can often feel helpless against adults and identify with a younger character
goldenegg8of100 or maybe... Mei's drawings just naturally look younger.
1) nice. She's more of a cuttlefish mermaid than an octopus mermaid.
2) aww! I love this Jafar. He looks like he just graduated from vazir school and can't wait to get to work.
3) hazelnut soupđ yum.
4) yeah this Captain Hook lost his hand in an unrelated fishing accident.
5) well done. I can tell this one was tough, considering that her name when broken down means *Cruel Devil.*
_If you like that version of Jafar - check out Starkid's "Twisted" musical on CZcams._ :3
Just once I wanna see Disney create a stereotypically evil-looking charcater and trick us all by making him a good guy.
Zoomania?
@Annabelle Yi Xin ECKERSLEY Ah okay thank you
Umm Hans
@@mahalima6189
Hans isn't evil-looking. He looks like a typical Disney protagonist. He turned out to be bad, but everyone was kind of expecting it.
Bruno?
They look like their younger selves, like how they were before something happened which made them evil
I thought that too!!
ikr that's what I was thinking
Randomdude same! #greatmindsthinkalike
Dude she literally said that in the video.
Randomdude Awww they were hurt emotionally that is why they became evil...đ
Captain Hook: My name is Inigo Montoya. You cut off my hand. Prepare to die
I was thinking the exact same....
Peter Pan: STOP SAYING THAT!
đđ
abeiscool40 Itâs inconceivable
It would be 10,000 times better if he was left handed lmao
Pretty = good
Ugly = bad
Hunchback of Notre Dame: am I a joke to you?
Miraversal Frollo : yes.
beast: i have feelings you know? even if i am a beast
Annabelle Yi Xin ECKERSLEY He isnât really ugly outside, but the joke was that Frollo wouldâve agreed that ugly=bad, thatâs more or less his motive for trying to kill Quasimodo.
Lol Frollo looked creepy as heck thou.
I love how Cruella turned out! She looks so glam like a movie star or something
Ok the good version of Ursula is ABSOLUTELY PRECIOUS
Puffer_fish 99 agreed
YAS
I actually thought she was one of the good guys at first, helping Ariel with a tough love kind of thing.
It's cool, but they look way too young for their age. It looks like they were modified based on how the main leads look....I think it would be more appropriate to model them after older characters (ex: Aladdin's father, Triton).
ldwon4 aladdin's father?đ
i forgot his name lol but he was in the 3rd aladdin movie
ldwon4 there's a 3rd movie? omg i didn't know thatđ
yup, and an animated series XD
ldwon4 yas
My favorite one is the first character, Ursula from which you changed her into a frank and friendly octomaid! She is looking very humble and kind. That's the thing I like about you that you can make the villains into a very innocent-looking character. So nice of you, Mei!
Jafar's good self looks like a human version of Iago with all that blue fabric replacing the black.
That's what I thought.
Disney: âBig eyes equal good, small eyes means youâre evilâ
đđđ
Sophia Godfrey I guess Iâm evil then đ
Pumpkin Pixie guess Iâm good then
I is eeeeeevil
That somehow feels slightly racist.
Oh, true! Nice noticed! đ
her line art skills are 100000/10
I really liked the last villian .l was really stunned by how she turned out, it was like she never was a villian .she really looked like one of the mordern Disney Princess who else agrees with it drop a like đđ
Nice Ursula kinda reminds me of an underwater Fairy Godmother.
Also, love how nice Cruella is holding a pupper.
You should do the good guys ad villains next.

Iâm impressed that you made Jafar look approachable. My favorite villain is likely Mother Gothel because she embodies an abusive parent in way that we donât always see in media. Rapunzel honestly thought that her âmotherâ loved her because Gothel was so good at twisting her mindđ

I loved these, but I only wish the cruellaâs stayed a little more true to the style of animation in the movie
Youâre so talented! I wish I could draw like you, I feel as if your pictures could just pop off the page
How I draw villains as good guys:
1. Print out a picture of a villain
2. Get a marker
3. Write "good"

Anyone jealous on how amazing all these are?? I canât even draw a stick figure. And watching you draw those black lines were so stress relieving to watch!
All of the redesigns look younger. I wish she had tried to stick to their original age a bit better. It's possible to be old and a good guy.
Audrey Moon exactly my thoughts
NuoraDiAngelo she also made them all have light skin
Audrey Moon it's like they were good guys when they were younger but then they became bad for any reason
I think it's just because that's her drawing style
art style doesn't determine what age looks like, really. she could've at least tried.
I dont know, mother gothel is Really attractive in my opinion, and it might be that her face is actually more Defines; cheekbones, jaw, nose.If being Good Guys means having no definition at all, i like the bad guys
I agree Vernon. The thing that made Mother Gothel look cruel was her smile and the way her eyebrows were done. I didn't think she needed to change everything, just mainly change her smile and eyebrows. If you soften and curve the eyebrows and take away the cruel smile and instead give her a kind smile, she looks like a kind woman.
Yes, more defined facial features are absolutely gorgeous in my opinion â€ïž
well, she particularly drew them how 'Disney' usually designs the heroes so..
I like how everyone is saying Gothel is attractive when really she is around 100 years old. yeppppppppppp
I seriously like the designs of the antagonists in Disney movies. They often look quite real and human, exotic, mysterious and interesting even. :D Love these variants too, though! I admire the clean- and accurateness of your style and how well you adapted the one of Disney!
AWW! Seeing Cruella as a good guy with a puppy made me so happy!!! Phenomenal work!

More like make them older. Many of this youtuber's resdesigns make the villains look a lot younger. And actually, a lot of villains are older than the heroes.
I LOVE Ursula! She looks like a good fairy who has a super motivational empowering song for girls to sing into this world. â€ïž
Omg!
Ursula would be awesome as a hero!
Let's say that this girl is another sister, and she is trying to fix the reputation of her family!
That would make an awesome movie!
Herowebcomics Agreed! Ursulaâs honestly very fun and chill. She could carry her own movie and not come across a bad guy!
Sharp, elongated, narrow features are usually what makes a cartoon villain softening and shortening rly did the trick
I loved the Cruella transformation
I love them all but I'm trying to figure out why Cruela looks like Ariel lol.
GummyBearMangle If you listen she states she mirrored Ursula's eyes and brows on Ariel's.
MissOyin she said nothing like that during Cruela's time.
GummyBearMangle Apologies, I misread Cruela as Ursula. I'm partially blind, it's such a hassle.
MissOyin no problem. I figured as so. I have dyslexia so I know how hard it is.
SAME, I was watching without sound because the music was annoying and I didn't hear that it was Cruela and I was like "wtf since when Ariel is a villain?". Then she drew the dog and I went like "oh." lol but the drawings were really great tho

It's the first time I watch your videos and I have to say It's soo amazing to watch you drawing, almost relaxing because of how easy you make it seem. You have an incredible talent, congrats for your work!
Welcome, and thanks :D
First time too. I would never redraw (/ trace over) some of the drawings you did. With hair, I just do the bottom and the top and probably fill in the middle witha few curves and lines but what you do takes skill. Also, if you haven't already, could you do Evil Versions Disney Good Guys?

It's interesting to see what physical traits get coded as "bad" in media, such as age (with exceptions such as the "kindly grandmother" archetype). Of course a lot of it is just the stereotype of good = conventionally attractive. However, it's often very worth looking into; note nose size/shape mentioned at 4:48 and 9:50 - there's a lot of baggage there (which it would be wise not to get into in a youtube comment section, but you get the gist).
My favorite Villain is David Xanatos from Gargoyles, because he is a smart, suave villain who also manages to salvage some small victory from a defeat and while he is passionate about his agenda he never falls into fits of rage like a lot of the other disney villains.
