  • Making a simple diy roof ladder. I need a short ladder to get in to some tight spaces on my roof so I set about making a wooden ladder with some rough timber in my shed.
The makita 9 inch saw bolted to the work mate is a lethal but very useful saw table.
At the end of the video I talk a little about the upcoming boiler stove build.
    Cheers Gerry

Would have appreciated you showing the bit that went over the other side - that's what everyone was expecting.

One suggestion i would make is on your 1st board you ripped you could have ripped it half way then turned it over on end and cut from the other end and have the cut meet in the middle. This works well for ripping longer boards when you dont have a long outfeed table.

Good idea. I was recently thinking of buying a ladder to reach my garage gutters. Your idea would save me money. Thanks.

Looks great. I would have glued all the rungs as well as screwing. Glue will set it completely rigid so one side can't move in parallel.
Much cheaper than buying one and will last a long time!

I like the idea of using the circular saw as a table saw, I've been meaning to try that, but would have been nice to see how you actually attached it to the work mate.

Hi Mick. First I have to say dont do it. But here's a video where I put my burner in my own Stanley Erin boiler stove connected to my 300l water storage tank and my underfloor heating. goo.gl/gzGLrG Note I installed the plumbing and the heating too. Hope this helps let me know Cheers Gerry

Good work, now you'll hopefully motivate me to do a similar build with palette wood. I need quick access to the top of my garage to store junk on rafters / plywood, and lay some more wood down to keep the heat from rising away :)

WARNING. This is just a standard ladder. A roof ladder is laid on a sloping roof and has hooks on the end.

Totally misleading title. You didnt show how to make the part that goes over the ridge which is the bit I wanted to see. You just made a ladder.

Talk slower given your heavy accent, if you want people to know wtf you're saying. Very frustrating missing about half of your banter (or going back to hear it again, which I'm not doing bc I value my time) bc you're going too fast. Thanks for considering. I assume having people understand what you're actually talking about would be priority for you.
