I can't believe Splatoon 2 queues have already reached Splatoon 1 levels of nobody being in them. Splatoon 1's servers have been down for a hot minute, but the last time I was able to play it, it took me half an hour just to get into one match.
i think you can still find some turf matches in 2, but id have to test that theory myself-
im pretty sure its just because its clam blitz, no one hops in splatoon 2 to play clam blitz lmao
when i played it was fairly easy to get matches, it kinda depends on the time too
The only mode with players in Splatoon 1 and 2 is turf war
Alot of people still play it but in this case it's due to him trying to do Clam Blitz and X rank.

splatoon 2 is still such a good game. i got it in june 2020, i had watched it for awhile and finally playing it was so much fun. it’s genuinely solidified my love for the series

Splatoon 2 was really underappreciated for me tbh, I'm only now realizing how good the maps and story and music were. I made so many memories with this game and I'll forever cherish them
It was its release date, it should have been a year after switch release, same with splatoon 3 i dont think we needed a new entry in the switch, i always thought this was gonna be 1 game per generation

the reason it was so hard to find a game is because you are searching for x rank... not alot of people are x rank in splatoon 2 and still active. its easy to find a game in lower ranks of turf war

6 years already!?! Ah god the memories is insane, my first splatoon game ever. I remember playing this after school during the pandemic and getting level 100 and S rank, being excited to get the golden tooth pick, meeting Vian in a turfwar and etc. It’s crazy how much this game aged but I gotta say it will never get old.
The regular turf lobbies in Splat 2 are still decently populated! I still have lots of fun goin back to 2 even after the release of 3.

I used to play Splatoon 2 24/7 but now that I have Splatoon 3, I just keep the game for nostalgia :)
Splatoon 2 is the reason why I'm here in this community.
Splatoon 2 was my first Switch game.
Plus, Splatoon 2 was released on my birthday (07/21/2017).

@@GrayVaaler.... That means they've been shutdown kid. The game is just issuing a standard maintenance message due to not being able to ping the servers for a map change. Kinda daft really since the game, like it is now, is pier to pier. Yes that means your Wii u is the host of all those matches and not a server.
Those servers have likely been repurposed for use on switch games, again not to host but just ping rotations.
Splatoon 2 was my first Splatoon game and it introduced me to your videos. While I feel Splatoon 3 was a major improvement, I still hold 2 close to my heart as like I said before, it got me into this awesome franchise
Although it feels weird playing after splat3, I miss splatoon 2 too.. The music actually being pretty diverse, the colours, the stages, etc etc. I was going to name the stages I want to return, but there’s too many to count (although I didn’t like ancho-v games lol)
I remember staying up late and playing Splatoon 2 on the TV until my eyes burned so bad from the only light source being flashy neon colors. I will always have a place for Splatoon 2 in my heart. ❤❤❤
I’m still playing Splatoon 2 every now and then. I’ll play some Splatoon 3 first until I’ve done my daily things (shop checking, get at least one catalog point by getting the daily win, buying one reduced capsule). Then I’ll go back to Splatoon 2 to check the stores, finish Octo Expansion with every weapon, play Turf War as an octoling to finish both inking missions, and play Salmon Run to get the last 5 outfits I don’t have yet.
I'm kinda happy I'm A/B rank because I get really quick battles lmao

What a coincidence. I recently played Splatoon 2 online and had a difficult time finding players too. I could at least play two matches Tower Control. It's easier to find matches in turfwars though

The servers are up bro ive been playing this weeken and i usually hop on the wii u from time to time and I've always had no problem with playing online, also i am in the US , so idk if that makes any difference
This feels so nostalgic because I used to play Splatoon 2 too. And I used to watch you(Jaymoji) while I were playing. And I were too so self conscious and now now in Splatoon 3 I always try to push as hard as possible.
I actually get into Splatoon turf wars or ranked modes pretty easily, maybe it's because all the x ranks moved to Splatoon 3 so it took a while to get into a match.

I miss the Splatoon 2 era…my sister and I spent A LOT of time playing this game, we were obsessed lol. Not to mention the good memories, even the Octo expansion is kinda nostalgic to me.
There’s been occasions where I go back to it and play a couple of matches and/or fight inner agent 3 just for fun. Although I was very excited for Splatoon 3, it just doesn’t hit the same for me or maybe I’m just getting old.
I still occasionally go back and check in on splatoon 2, even if literally no one plays it, it brings me nostalgia because it was my first splatoon game.

I really miss Splatoon 2 multiplayer modes. There was a better matchmaking, you could see opponents ranks and levels, UNLIKE splatoon 3, there were MUCH better maps, it was more colorful

The reason the second game didn't go to overtime is because the opps got to 42 first, so it's not a tie like if both teams get to the same number in any other rank. Lol

@@Qibles ohhhh. I thought that was just for show, and players on the opposing team would see their teams losing by one point. I’ve had several ties in Splatoon over the years, and seen others on YT. Always a “loss,” never seen someone “win” a tie before.

I got Splat 2 about maybe 6 months before Splat 3 came out, but I love that game with all of my heart. It was my entry into the fandom, and this video flooded me with memories of playing the game with my Switch Lite handheld. Thank you Jay.
Symbolic of the unsustainability of live service games with no couch co-op, or decent single player content. I predicted 6 years ago this would be it's fate. Games just can't keep getting made this way

I can't believe this game is 6 years old... I bought Splatoon 1 nearly 8-9 years ago and Splatoon 2 when it came out. I fell out of Splatoon around 5 years ago, but recently I've been getting recommended content to it which has made me want to play it again, simply for the nostalgia. It's crazy how old it is though now.
I still play it, because I am not allowed to buy 3 yet. When I am allowed to buy it then with the Entire stuff included. However I sadly can't play online because my family didn't purchase the online thing for everyone who plays

Man Splatoon 2 was my introduction to this series I don’t 100% remember how I got the game I think I just saw some gameplay or if I picked it up at the Walmart thinking it looked good and wanted to try it, probably the ladder and surprisingly enough I’m now a permanent roller main since it’s what I’m best at and Waleye warehouse was my first map to play on, man I’m so glad I picked up Splatoon
I miss splatoon 2 nostalgia playing it in 2017 and 2018 and then a ton during COVID when lobbies were full it’s sad that nobody plays anymore

Started out playing Splatoon 2 just a week ago. Absolutely loving it. I'm playing mostly with japanese players. Servers are always good. Wondering if I should just get Splatoon 3 or just enjoy 2 now
I still go back to two sometimes. It got me through the pandemic and holds a special place for me.
Once you feel more comfortable I would highly recommend the Octo expansion. It’s challenging but it’s really bloody good DLC.

at the release always hated that game and mario maker 2 came in my life, but when Corona came in middle 2020, mario maker started getting dull and tried splatoon again and it were fun, mostly cause i knew how it worked by then and now splatoon 3 is still my fav game. Im about to play Splatoon 2 on sept 9 just for 1 day to do the 1 years not played Splatoon 2 thing.
There’s still a bunch of cool shoes in this game that Nintendo refuses to add and uh the kensa weapons I kinda want them back
I hardly touched Splatoon 2 most of it's life. I got hooked on it playing with a coworker in the last year before Splatoon 3. Now I love Splatoon 3 and the coworker I started playing with barely touched Splatoon 3 and now we can even play ranked modes with friends.
do you plan on splaying splatoon 1 with custom servers? you would just have to mod your wiiu. also its probably hard to get a splat 2 match because everyone who plays it is low rank (me and my friends.)
I lost all of my Sp2 data because my old switch died, so I restarted the game one month ago. Sadly I lost all of my perfect gear and my clam blitz X rank (I loved this mode in sp2 but I found it bad in sp3) but at least I could discover the game again, it made me feel so nostalgic. There are actually people playing this game daily on very low ranks, but once I got to B rank, I had a lot of trouble finding a game and most players are bad, although I managed to find a few decent players. I wish more people would play this game, I find it more fun than sp3. Fun fact : salmon run is the only game mode that allows you to play with an empty lobby.
