- A beautiful winter ascent hike of Mount Bierstadt in Colorado from Guanella Pass winter closure. We had perfect conditions, aside from chest deep postholing, but it made for a hilarious day in the mountains. And we only saw one other human all day, it was amazing!

I have done this mtn. a few times but only in the summer. In the absence of snow, part of the trail from the Guanella Pass TH consists of an elevated, boarded walkway through the willows. Many years ago before this was put in, the hike's biggest challenge was a tedious & annoying bushwhack through this area, which can also be very muddy. I'd like to try the winter ascent - if so, I hope I get this nice of a day! Very well-captured. -CT
