Tagging onto this comment, hopefully some can recommend a palette with a good matte olive green shade, preferably more affordable than the Melt palettes. There's orange eyeshadow for miles in every direction, but matte olives seem to be a little harder to come by.
@@vainglory5346 I used MAC “humid” on top of paint pot “Groundwork”. Such a pretty green and applied lightly, it looks matte.
As I remember there’s a nice green in WetnWild “comfort zone”

I remember Luminoso being so hyped and I didn’t like how it looked on me. That’s part of an overall lesson I’ve learned about CZcams: not every product will work for you. Don’t try it unless you’re truly interested and fits your preferences.
Yeah, but try one of the other shades. Milani has stellar blushes.
Rose d’oro is a great shade. I like luminoso, but it depends on the rest of my makeup and on whether I’m tan or pale. They have tons of shades.
I hate shimmery blushes. I bought luminoso and surprise, surprise... I didn't like it! If anyone out there knows of a shade dupe but matte, please let me know.
Me too! It was too warm on me and I was so disappointed. But now I know that cooler toned blushes are what works best on me, so it was a lesson for sure!

11 months later and I'm starting my Saturday off with this vid too how crazy is that.
I've watched almost every video you've posted since 2010! You're the only one from that early era that I still follow and watch every week. Yesterday I was thinking that the eyeshadow that I'm about to finish panning is a very old recommendation of yours, before red/pink eyeshadow was made popular by ABH MR, from a NYX's trio called Rust, remember? I think the other 2 colors were Golden and Bronze, I still have the Golden color and will pan it next month. They still work amazing, lasts all day without creasing, and I think you first recommended in 2011 or 2012, if I'm not mistaken. I've panned so many shades from the Wants palette too.

I just bought my 1st bottle of UD setting spray. Sprayed it on yesterday for the 1st time and Wow!!!! I have to wear a mask at work and I notice my blushes and highlighter have disappeared by end of day. Yest I wore a 3$ blush and with this spray by end of day both highlighter and blush were still there... sooo worth it( at sale price best buy! Lol)

I've used Double Wear for years. I've been influenced into trying other foundations, but I always come back home. It does last all day, even here in humid Florida.
I feel the same. I’m a little older now, so DW looks better mixed with something a little less matte. I always come back to DW.

@@kentuckywildcatfan5096 - I’ve been adding a drop of The Ordinary HA to it. I then mix it really well on a glass plate. The foundation wears so much better on my 52 year old face 😊
You can also mix a drop of Advanced Night Repair with Double Wear and it gives it a little more luminosity and ANR is oil free so it doesn’t mess with the wear of the makeup.
I am 58 and I've been wearing DW since my early 30's. I've tried all kinds of luminous foundations for "mature skin" but they ALL sink into my wrinkles! DW never does that on me. I apply with a sponge, which I recommend as well. It lasts all day and as long as I prep my skin well it doesn't look cakey. Definitely my holy grail. I absolutely love all your videos. Thanks Emily!

@@Kimberly-hk6kp I use Cerave in the tub and COTZ mineral suncreen which is incredibly moisturizing. Most days I just use the COTZ Sensitive Nontinted SPF 40 for face and body, let it sink in for about 15-20 minutes.

@@Kimberly-hk6kp Yes, SPF's are so hard to find! You can also mix in a little night repair serum with the foundation as well. I also shave my face regularly which really helps to avoid any clinging.

You're one of the few gurus I feel like I can trust to recommend a product but not feel pressured to spend money on every single new thing that comes out. The Double Wear foundation has not been full coverage but medium as you said for many many years now (maybe when it started on the market, it was) the hype about it is because of its performance. As an oily and sweaty girl it's my holy grail foundation. 😊

Too faced natural eyes is my favorite palette. It’s the only palette I need. I’ve gone so basic with my makeup and it’s just the perfect color scheme for me. The palette has gone through years with me. 🥰

I literally busted out Double Wear yesterday and went swimming with my babies (no face dunking under water, but got splashed a bunch 😆), wore it all day and even worked out in it and it still was 100% intact at the end of the night with no creasing! I used to live at the Estee Lauder counter as my favorite perfume is Beautiful. I wore Estee Lauder Double Wear and loved when you got a gift set with purchase of my perfume. I remember using the DW and it really did give me a flawless look. I used to wear it to work but now that I work from home I do very minimal/sheer foundation but that DW was my holy grail for a long time ❤️ oh and my natural eyes palette was in the tin packaging 😂 I guess we all had it at some point lol

If you have somewhere near you that sells it, get color matched and a free sample!
I think I'll go check it out too. I'll be glad to get color-matched, too, instead of guessing at the big box store. I'd rather spend/invest the money in a good foundation that fits properly (ironically, I used to be a bra fitter for Wacoal bras, which are the same idea), and wear cheaper blushes, etc. Bad foundations make the best clothes or makeup look bad, whereas good ones make anything look better. Seriously, ladies--invest in good bras that fit properly--you'll look thinner, younger, and so much classier, no matter what you wear over them, and you won't feel like you have to rip it off as soon as you get home! What's that worth per day? $65 is $1.00/day for 2 months, and you'll have that bra way longer than that! (Don't wear the same one everyday, tho!) Go to the best dept store in your area, and ask to be fitted for their best everyday type of bra. You may be shocked at the size they recommend, but try it on, put your top back on, and give it a chance. If it feels tight, it's probably because your old bra gave no support. Look at yourself from the side and the back. The back band should stay down, and be horizontal all around. The center front should be against your breast bone. Bend over and get all your breast tissue into the cup. If it won't all go in, or overflows the cup at the top, or sticks out the side, the cup is too small, and you need to go up a cup size. "Back fat" often means the band is too small, or you need to bend over and move all the breast tissue into the cup. Remember breast tissue can be under your arms. A band that pulls up in the back means your breasts are too heavy for the cups to support, and they are running the show. The bra should be in control, supporting your breasts. There should not be anything overflowing the top of the cup, either. That does not look sexy! You can keep the little skimpy stuff for "special occasions," but an everyday bra needs to do its job to support you doing yours--set and forget, just like your makeup!

I’ve had my same luminoso blush for 6-7 years now, I’ve hit major pan and I am so determined to finish it up! I’ve never used up a powder blush before, it feels so exciting. I will probably repurchase it once I finish it up, it just looks so good on me and so easy!
Good morning Emily!! Love getting ready with you in the morning! I would say Tarte Shape Tape is still an iconic product for me. I have tried all sorts of concealers, but still come back to the Tarte Shape Tape. I've gone through 2 tubes of it and currently working on my third. Something about the shade and the formula is just perfection for my skin. Also, adore the NYX Control Freak! I'm working through some other brow gels at the moment, but can't wait to go back to it! One thing I thought about for mascaras was the Cover Girl lash blast. I feel that has been around for ages and still holding up to this day. I started wearing Double Wear over 20 years ago. For me, the closest drugstore foundation to it is L’Oréal’s Infallible foundation in the bottle. I like Maybelline Super Stay, too, but it’s completely different in texture and finish.

I’ve used tawny all my life! It perfect for my skin tone, I have the impression that you have a lighter complexion! So I’m peeling my eyes for your tones now!
I really enjoy applying eyeshadow like you did here. I followed along with the same brushes, and it looks great. Very easy too. The small pointed brush blends the dark color very easily and neatly into the crease color.

Loved this concept. Thought about double wear being available for years but not naked pallettes - a person with one foundation would repurchase their double wear once or twice a year. Most people aren’t buying pallettes again.
I find that my maybelline superstay has more coverage than double wear - I mixed them for my wedding day as I agree the DW has that lasting power. A superb combo!

I have all of these products somewhere in my stash and I'm going to pull them out and do this look! Thank you for such a great and informative video....brings me back to your early morning get ready with me's from waaaaaaay back!
Love Master Chrome in Rose Gold!! Sometimes I use it as eyeshadow. Regarding the Too Faced palette, there's actually a dupe from the brand C Color Cosmetics and their version, Soft Natural, is a spot on dupe as far as shades. Formula wise, it's close, but Too Faced is a bit smoother, but not by much. I recently bought the TF palette off Mercari since I already had the dupe, and C Color did an outstanding job of duping this palette. The packaging isn't nearly as luxurious, just a tin case, and the pans are smaller, but at $8.00, I'm not complaining. C Color has some great dupe palettes for expensive brands that are worth checking out! I own a few, and have always been pleased with my eye looks. They also make their own original palettes too that aren't dupes; their selection is very diverse. The WNW Nude Awakening palette didn't work for me; the shimmers hard panned almost immediately, didn't have much color, or shimmer...disappointed as WNW has been a staple of mine since the 80s! Definitely prefer their mini 5 pan palettes better than the larger ones. UD eyeliner, while the colors offered are beautiful and interesting, that formula hasn't been the longest wear liner on my super oily skin; they always transfer to my under eye by the end of the day. But there are certain colors I still wear, because I can't find them anywhere else. Just have blue raccoon eyes at the end of the day 😆 Hoola bronzer....I hate the packaging 😆 it looks like they didn't fill up the box all the way; why does it look like someone used it half way?! And the box is too small to fit by big, fluffy bronzer brush. Definitely Agree, and Prefer WNW bronzer!

I think the thing about MAC is their unique hybrid lip colors... like "O," a great go-with-everything reddish-purplish-bronze. I've never been able to find a dupe for that one.

It’s nothing new but man, this foundation stays on under hot and sweaty days and even when wearing a mask..It has beautiful coverage and doesn’t feel heavy, I feel like it needs more love because it’s so amazing! I would ❤️ to see you review this product and possibly do a tutorial using all Smashbox products? Smashbox is one of those products that don’t get mention often but they are so good and I feel like my makeup looks the best in pictures when wearing Smashbox 😃 anyways enough of me rambling on and on..thank you thank you thank you for your positivity and amazing content..it’s very well appreciated!!! I have the Estée Lauder Double Wear in the “Stay in Place” it is amazing 😮 total full coverage & truly stays in place for 10 hours while I am working in a hot restaurant. It does kinda dry out towards the end but for that flawless look to still be there after a full 10 hr day is just incredible.
Estee lauder is my favorite in 15 years. I've been using sometimes other foundation but go back to the same ❤️

So true about that 'Fit Me' powder. I'm hard pressed to find a better powder! I'm always looking and trying other setting powders but I truly have no qualms with the 'Fit Me' loose powder.

Love the concept of iconic products. It did make me laugh that my idea of iconic for several products was different, probably because I'm 59. I was using Coty Airspun in the early 80's, and while I don't anymore, it's definitely my iconic, as is L'Oreal True Match foundation.
You know this could be a fun word association game, when I heard lipstick I immediately thought, "Revlon's Cherries in the Snow".

I would Love to see a video about make up you use for it’s an un-intended purpose. Such as cool toned brow pencil for lip liner. Bronzer as eyeshadow. Lip pencils as a smudgable shadow pencil, etc.

Emily, aside from makeup, I’m into those seasonal and festive mugs. Actually, every time I go shopping and pass by the mugs sections, I’m always seeing something interesting, thinking “This is an Emily style mug.” I’ll usually buy it. I break out my seasonal mugs too!

Such a fun idea for a video! It's really interesting to go back to iconic products and see how you feel about them now. I used to love Revlon Colourstay Foundation and also their Colourstay Pressed Powder. I haven't used the foundation in years but I still have the pressed powder in my collection. Makes me want to try out the foundation again and see what I think of it now.
I still use Double Wear, Shape Tape, Laura Mercier powder and Urban Decay setting spray every day! ❤️
My favorite iconic-ish mascara is L’Oréal Telescopic in carbon black. It’s great on its own and an amazing layering mascara, especially on top of thickening mascaras. I don’t hear a ton of people talking about it, but it’s such a staple for me. Great video!
