I thought it was a wah... but boy was I wrong!!! ha ha ha ha
It has 7 signature sounds from great Queen songs!!!

I got mine when they first came out and still use it today, it's great for playing early Queen stuff . Digitech also made a Jimi Hendrix version of this pedal.
I wanted this pedal when I was 18 years old and wish I could have gotten it.. saved all my money from working to buy it and then it was gone
One thing I noticed you didn't touch on, was on the third knob, the outside pot (marked SC, Red Special, HB) is what you set for whatever type of pickup you are using on the guitar, to more accurately sculpt the tone to match the Teisonic pickups in the Red Special. So if you're using a single coil guitar, you set it to 'SC', a humbucker to 'HB', and if you happen to have a guitar with Trisonic-type pickups in, you set it to 'Red Special'.
Great pedal, I'm getting one. Wish they made Gilmour, Edge and probably The Beatles signature tones pedals as well.. There're many ways to resurrect this series.. hope Cort Corporation will do smth new in this direction

I tried to sample this pedal more than a few times over the years and every time nobody could get it working. These were guitar techs too. It became known a lot of the pedals left the factory not working. So out of the 3 I tried, none even had a dry signal that worked. Lol

This is a great pedal - thanks for making this video. You really knew a decent amount about Brian and Queen, which is always pleasing. You did a great job with the demonstration. You taught me some new things about this pedal - nice one :)

what a difficult line to manage for this review! someday, it may devolve to this: here's some tech that honors ( artist name redacted), and with it, you could do songs like ( song names redacted ), or even an entire record like ( album title redacted ). it sounds like this! (all audio redacted, and replaced with generic sample of crickets chirping ). and then, the crickets send a cease and desist and demonitize the video review. thanks for the fun, guys! Great video guys, I remember checking out this pedal in a store about 10 years ago. From memory there was a Hendrix model as well.
They were $590 new... I just saw a Hendrix pedal on reverb for $180!!! I should have bought it!

I got one when they came out … I could not have gotten rid of it faster. The flanger patch was cool, the rest felt wrong and “plastic”.
The Digitech is however unanimous for its very realistic sounds. It's still simulation, but good simulation. I'm very satisfied with mine

Have both the Brian May Red Special and the Eric Clapton Crossroads. Don't know what's wrong with the Crossroads, I use that in my bluesband 🙂
And as a big bonus, the Red Special pedal came with a sixpence, Brian uses that as a plectrum.

Nice review, just one question - recently decided to play with my pedal and found out strange thing - on 5 mode in green position (acoustic sound from Crazy little thing called love) control knob controls amount of reverb according to the manual, but rotating this knob doesn’t change anything, in red position it works as it should be. In your video I also haven’t heard reverb in acoustic preset. Is it something wrong with my pedal, or it’s how it really works?

Are use vocal harmonisers a lot at live gigs, and Digitech made the best ever vocal harmoniser! It’s big and Brown and ugly but it sounds amazing! It’s a pity they don’t make them any more!

it was given to him by a friend of mine a couple years ago who was teaching him guitar and he was impressed seing him play some queen, so he gave it to him. still looked new with the instructions, box and bag to put it in :)

I hate to be a troll but, it seems like you were so freaked out about possibly infringing on a song copyright that you really didn’t play much at all. I expected that maybe you could try to play “in the style of” Brian May for a more extended period of time. Also, you didn’t really didn’t dig in and twist some knobs to show the potential tweak-ability of all the patches. Lastly, although it sounds good through your microphone/interface into my earbuds, I’ve found that there’s no substitute for being in the room with the amp. Tell me how it sounds in the room….with the amp. How does it feel? Touch sensitivity? I’d love ti hear a more detailed opinion from you. You actually got to play through it!
Although, I appreciate any free demo video of gear I can’t easily get my hands on, this one left me a little frustrated and disappointed. Sorry guys
