    I'm late to the show. Happy to see the Talon in its natural habitat... garage on jack stands.
    Mine is currently on its crutches too had to resurface all the turbo flanges for new gaskets.

      The talon is currently turn key waiting for spring (besides an oil leak that I’ll fix when it’s warm) 😊

    Thanks for the awesome video man.! Imma have to replace the HG on my spyder soon and I've been scared to death because I've been afraid of the timing belt myself. Any other video seems to over complicate things and explain it all weird but thanks to your video I'm confident I won't have any issues when I decide to do it.! (I will, however, will be doing something different that you didn't do, and that's break down and buy the "cam gear insert holder" that you place in between the cam gears to hold them in place. Thanks for the help my dude.!

    Also, you should consider using the 3KGTVR4 master cylinder. Since it was designed for 4 piston calipers, and would give you the most bite as far as OEM MC’s go. Can’t wait to see the Big brake upgrade.

    longer bolts with some washers in between would have allowed you to keep your flywheel on. tip for next time.

    so I have a stock 98 eclipse GST I was going to replace the head gasket on. Are there any other key components that I should look into replacing while I have it taken apart?

    • @Al3xTalon
      @Al3xTalon  Před 5 lety

      When you replace the head gasket it's always a great time to replace the timing belt! Other things that go along with that would be the water pump and timing tensioner. Spendy to do all of them but worth it since you have to pull them all off anyways. Good luck with it!

    • @265308
      @265308 Před 5 lety +1

      If U get the Timing Belt done make sure U USE OEM one or very good one like Gates and U might as well replace the Crank Angle sensor since they located near there on 2Gs. IF ur Timing belt slips or brakes ur engine if fucked.

    I have a
    97' 2g GS-T its a manual transmission
    And im having trouble
    With the rpms
    When i let go of the gas peddle while driving it turns off, When in park one of the radiator fans turns off (driver side) and the rpms go high and as well in park when i step on the gas to go up to 1500 or 2000 even 2500 and let go of the peddle the rpms get low to 500 and under and immediately the car turns off
    I just installed a brand new Base idle set screw but the rpms still go up and down
    And also my exhaust is broken from the manifold could that be part of it?
    A/C is on through out everything i mentioned but still reacts the same sorta when A/C is off in idle but
    What do yall think it could be?

    • @soulsnatcher9228
      @soulsnatcher9228 Před 3 lety

      Sounds like a vacuum leak 2g has alot of vacuum lines. Also how bad is the crack in manifold could be a problem if your losing to much exhaust pressure the turbo won't spool as it should.

    • @thedsmbroadway3780
      @thedsmbroadway3780 Před 3 lety

      @@soulsnatcher9228 well its been a month since then and i found out that there wasnt a crack on the manifold it was actually a flex pipe that was leaking so i got a new piece for it and welded it on to it and its sounds better and for the vaccumm lines my father and i kinda...sorta figured out the vacuum lines and its in better shape than before but still reacts the same way but not as severe
      I replaced the idle air control as well and the idling changed a bit as well
      And a new 690cca battery and alternator but! Theres a new problem! On a cold start the cars idle goes really loooooowwwwwww the car shakes quite a bit and then it spikes up and repeats the same thing until it warms up
      And when im driving the RPMs spike up to almost 2k
      Any thoughts? On what it could be?

    What parts R using and where U buying em? Water pump is Gates believed that what said(most DMS swear to only use AISIN but it pricey....)? Man dunno how cats can do a timing belt on any car with the engine still in the car.
