    When you use rhythm, 14/4 or 10/8 for example. The shape of the musical notes seems divided in an unnatural way, all of them are connected to each other and are difficult to read. Is there a way to separate them from each other so that they look normal? Thanks

    Sometimes you may want three columns of text at the end for additional verses but I never found a direct way to do this. My work around is to select add text -- expression and then click a particular note on the last line somewhere one-third of the way across the page. Then I can get three text boxes which I can arrange side by side. Is there another way? Thanks.

    • @DavidKennedyMusic
      @DavidKennedyMusic  Před rokem +1

      Yeah I think the better way of doing this, that will give you a bit more formatting control is to add an extra bar to the end of the piece. Hit return to get that bat on to its own line. Then insert a vertical frame (from layout palette). If you need three columns I think you can click the horizontal frame to get this to work.

    Hi David! Do you know how to write an aleatoric music? I cannot figure it out. As soon as I set a repeat mark it applies to all staves and instruments in score, but I need to edit them independently. Is it possible? I will really appreciate you reply.

    • @DavidKennedyMusic
      @DavidKennedyMusic  Před rokem +1

      Hey, off the top of my head here I'm not sure how MuseScore could handle the playback of an aleatoric score, if that score is truly based on random iterations of sections. In terms of the look of the score and to get an approximation of how sections sounded with the repeats you want, you could use a mixture of horizontal frames, "new section" marks and specifying the amount of repeats required in the inspector (have to double check exactly where this is but I have used it before). For play back of the piece I would highly recommend the use of Ableton (it has lots of ways to incorporate chance/random elements into the music). A workflow could be exporting individual parts and sections of your score from MuseScore and importing those bits into Ableton's session view. Then you could really mess around with sections in a truly random and chance way.

    I just installed MuseScore 4 yesterday. I'm a musicien, and althought it free. I've never seen an app so complicated for nothing. I've spend more time figure that non-sense, than actually make music. Love the sound of the instrument. But the interface makes no sense. When to check the manuel....don't make much more sense. I might use it for short scoring to use as a sample, but that's about it. Very desapointed of the bref experience, and I don't recommend it to no one. Well if you need a headache, that the go program you need.
