      He should not be doing it. He can get in major trouble for doing it. That’s the reason I stopped making videos. My The Global Indian channel was doing good but I couldn’t make a living off from that.

      Actually, not true. Harnoor is operating in grey zone I feel. They usually set up a Delaware corp.. company and you are not the same. Company makes money, not him. The grey area is that you cannot be an active employee of your own company and if your work in US makes your company some money, you shouldn't have an intent to get it back - hard to prove

      @@chan90s Do you mean to say he’s volunteering on paper for a company that he setup? So who is he showing as the sole earner from the business?
      I know you can reinvest all the money into business or be a equity holder but is that really the type of business he is in? The answer is no on my end.

      @@Abheykyu No one knows for sure except for Harnoor himself. My guess is that he maybe showing someone from India as working partner. I believe he would have registered an LLC. The equity stuff is complicated operationally.

    Yeah, but had you been in Canada, the Canadian government removed all restrictions on the number of hours foreign students are allowed to work. Btw they were already allowed to work off-campus jobs.

    It's just not worth it... I've seen too many times, people end up getting stuck in the US, away from family for decades because their visa will be denied. Even marriages (GC which waives this) often fail.

    But the lawyer did not really answer the part where you said that what if one uses a bank account in his/her home country to deposit his/her earnings.

      There's some gray area if your business is basically the same thing as somebody getting some work done for back home while here on vacation. The other lawyer said the government doesn't allow it but he would fight them in court.

    What if you are working freelancing or doing virtual work on a family member name and the payment is deposit into your family member indian bank account and they are paying taxes in their name, in india. While they send the payment to you back? Will anybody know?

    I just saw a video of a girl on her CZcams channel. She just came to the U.S. for MS in the fall semester. She is working part time outside campus illegally and posting about the earnings that she got. Also, she mentions in the comments that the job is illegal and her friends are doing it. Also, she says that there is no problem with doing an illegal job. Oh my God. People don't know the value of their opportunities.

    so how in the world is harnoor singh doing it since his undergrad? I have been thinking about continuing my CZcams channel in the US, but these legalities clearly do not allow it. moreover, you have to be an established content creator to strengthen your profile for the O1A/B visa, correct? can you be eligible for the F1 and O1A/B simultaneously?       Correct you will have to make your case for artist on O1B visa and you can file O1B visa while you are on F1 Visa - if that's what you meant.

    What about people who's friends or relatives own the online business. Could they simply "volunteer" at these businesses and get the money transferred to them by the person who owns the business? Technically they are only "volunteering" at the company.
    The person whos company is in their name could then transfer the money to them, under the guise of supporting their friend financially. What do you think yudi?

    I see and know many spouses of the H1B visa holder or the spouse whose GC is in process do passive income from home, is it legal? I think I know what the answer is, that it is illegal but I still wanted to the answer because of the fact that the H1B visa holder is not directly involved with what spouse is doing.

      You get 90 days after your graduation to find a job - if you are unable to find a job within that 90 days then you will be out of status and have to go back.

      Day trading is considered as active income but if you buy a stock and sell it after a month or so then that’s more like passive.

      Yes, you can post stuff if you have no intention of making money. The 1st Amendment of the US constitution protects freedom of speech and the press (media).

      When you fill-up DS-160 - you will have to put your social media. Let's say they looked up and found out you have 50k followers and you have ads/brand deals - obviously, they are not dumb to not know that you are making money.
      But again many people do this in the hope that they will never be caught - it's a high risk. you can take your chances.
