- In today's video I will be explaining the process of the exclusives portal for San Diego Comic Con. The portal will open on July 8, 2024 and will close on July 18, 2024. I will also give you some tips throughout the video on other booths not included in the lottery. SDCC this year is from July 24-28.

Thanks for the help. This is my first time going to SDCC and i was a little curious about it. I do have a question though, just for your opinion on.
I really want to get the Hasbro exclusives this year and I'm definitely worried about winning. Would going all in on a specific really affect my chances, or am I still most likely to not get anything? Is there a specific time i should look out for, or is everything always the same level of busy?
You will have a blast! It can be very overwhelming so don’t think you have to do everything. As far as Hasbro goes, if that is your number one priority, then spending the majority or most of your points is just fine. I always try to avoid the first slot - now I have no data on this and SDCC doesn’t release analytics, but I would assume it’s the spot people want the most - especially if there is a limited piece. I would recommend putting in for a later time might slight improve your odds.
You know...for how long theyve been doing this, youd think theyd bring their portal to the 21st century and make it so that its a clear and simple experience...
I totally understand - it can be quite overwhelming and frustrating. But back in 2017 when I first attended, there was no lottery. It was nothing but lines after lines to “pull a ticket” to win. I waited in line for 10 hours to pull a ticket for the Game of Thrones cast autograph - there were so many people who would jump the line from behind the convention center - it was a real disaster. I never even made it to the front where I could pull a ticket before they said all the tickets were gone. 10 hours - I had to sleep under the tents. It was so awful.
So yes, this portal process is not the best, but at least it saves you a ton of time and prevents people from “cheating” the system.
This is my first con, I'm a bit confused on what exactly you're bidding on. So if I win an autograph signing. Is that a free autograph, or is it a chance to pay for an autograph? Like the Todd McFarlane example. I would win 1 of his autographs for free?
So in the portal, the autographs are free. The booths, you are trying to win an opportunity to go shop at it. So for example, if you want to go to the Hasbro or Funko booth, you have to win the lottery to go shop there. They do open their lines eventually, but it is straight madness to actually get in the line.
@@headlessnedstark Awesome! Thanks for the clarification ! Also thanks for you videos, They've been super helpful!
What time does it open up July 8th 1st thing in the morning?
I would imagine either 6am or 9am PST. But remember, you just have to have your choices in by the 18th.
@@headlessnedstark thanks for heads up, also we get 12 choices per day can those all be used for Hasbro? I just need to pick different times so 9:30-10,10-10:30, and so on?
@@ebenfoster9587 you can use all 12 points for Hasbro at the same
Time if you want
@@headlessnedstark for the same time slot? I had no idea thanks for heads up. I am only going Thursday and trying to get the Once a man Cobra Commander. So trying to figure what is the best way to go about this all.
@@headlessnedstark one more question do you recommend putting all 12 slots in one time or is it better to spread out? Or does it really matter?
