Trails from Zero (Geofront Patch): Final Boss+Ending

What a journey it's been.
I beat the game yesterday and decided to use an earlier save to do this today for a video. Enormous thanks to Falcom for making this great game in the first place and to the Geofront team for both the translation and for making an XSEED quality release of it.
I tried to show off all the combo crafts throughout the fight, but sadly I forgot to use Tio and Elie's. Oh well. At least I finished it how I wanted to with Lloyd and Elie's Sekiha Love Love Tenkyo- I mean, Star Blast.

Timestamps & Strategy
13:26 Phase 1: Have Adamantine Guard or Zero Field up early, because he loves using his S Craft turn two. Calamity Claw is the key to victory in both phases. Other than that, the always useful analysis debuff, aqua mirage, and your most powerful arts will put this priest in his place. Try to have Tio's CP at 100 or higher before you finish him off.

33:35 Phase 2 (love the screen swirl into the fight that doesn't happen anywhere else): It's time to put your barriers up to get over this one. Randy can delay its allies while you setup and wipe them out with AoE arts. Be sure you aren't on their areas when you kill them, otherwise you get vanished. Once they're both gone, scoot up and start laying into it. The new minion type it summons aren't much of a threat, especially if you have aqua mirage up. Once it changes gold, it'll start countering your physical attacks. Make sure you have something guarding you, its new S-Craft can and will wipe out your entire team at once. When it charges up for Wicked Trinity you can score some massive damage if you put up art reflect on your whole team. Only Elie had it, but I still managed to get it on two people.
57:42 Phase 3: This is a victory lap more than anything. It becomes vulnerable to all arts and, more importantly, to delay. If you've played on Nightmare this long you know, if a boss is vulnerable to delay then you've already won. I've never actually seen what moves it might pull out at this part, because I never gave it a turn.

This is probably one of the best endings in Trails series. From the end of Trails in the Sky SC, Estelle and Joshua have been chasing Renne and trying to give her the family that she lost years ago. Seeing Renne finally open to Estelle and get officially adopted into Bright Family, putting Estelles and Joshuas chase to a close, this was a really great moment to watch, especially because Renne has been bottling up her emotions all this time due to her psychological and physical torture by the DG cult (at the end of SC and 3rd, she was still confused and trying to figure out her emotions). Really well done emotional scene, thank you Geofront for translating this masterpiece and giving the westerners an opportunity to play this game.
Yeah, it's very 'clean' for lack of a better word. It ties everything up nicely. Outside of the Renne plot continuation, Zero is a very self-contained game. All the characters have their growth and moments that makes this ending a great send-off to the SSS even without Azure.

Thanks for the upload! My game crashed right after defeating the third phase and I was dreading having to replay the whole final battle in order to see the post game cutscenes. You saved an hour of my life and my sanity.

I don't know why the recording becomes laggy during a couple parts of the evil eye cutscene and during the city hall reception in the end. It didn't lag like that while I was playing :/
Probably an issue with my OBS settings that I don't know about.
Hey man, I know you've probably heard this a million times, can you tell me how did you find the link to install it or how you did it? most probably has a lot of people asked this, but I already finished Zero in the old patch and I want to play it for the remaining achievements without massive lags and problems the game had. And...I suppose you got the game through "alternative means" too?

Download the installer for the patch and you CAN buy the game legitimately for pretty cheap, just check their FAQ section for the links (or go to nyaa.si and use your brain, but getting an official copy is easy so I will of course advocate for that).
To get it patched with voice acting, there's a custom installer out there for that if you do some digging (or, again, go to nyaa).
Whatever you do, I hope you enjoy your run through the game again :)
@@21stCenturyBoy- sorry for taking so long to reply man, and I actually was writing a more detailed reply explaining things but FUCKING youtube ate it mid writing. and I won't write it all over again. In resume, I'm pretty addicted to them and pirating is not good, but I cant buy it ATM is the easier and simple to use the pc version. I was going to try the patch n the nyaa version that I have but IDK if it'd work. I asked the geofront enough and you need at least 4GB RAM so....I'm screwed. (Yeah my PC is jurassic)

Im watching this again after im done with ao no kiseki. not going to spoiler, but this scene gave me a chill a bit.....
Yeah, I just finished Azure myself last week and damn. I think this is the series' best ending in terms of giving that sense of finality, even if there are, of course, mysteries left unsolved for Azure.
@@21stCenturyBoy- agree. And im little bit dissapointed with myself because im already playing tcs till near half of tcs4, then playing crossbell's series. Spoilers everywhere o_o
@@endi2346 Yeah, I held off from playing any more of the CS games after the first one because I heard 2 and on spoils a lot of Crossbell. Now I have plenty to catch up on before Reverie gets translated here.

Look, I didn't know what I was doing back then I swear! Most of it's okay though, haha...
It ended up being an issue with not putting the game at high enough priority to keep the framerate steady while recording (something I learned while recording those Ys 8 boss videos). Rest assured, any To Azure vids will be lag free.
gonna get started on azure soon, Im glad this is here becuse my data got erased as I was on the final boss. My buddy is setting up azure for me as I type this comment. He's a real pal
If you have the patience, I'd wait for the Geofront team to finish their Azure translation. That plus all the quality of life improvements they'll likely add as they did with Zero will definitely make that the best release of the game. It probably won't be done until late 2020 or early 2021, but, if you can wait, I think it will be worth it. :)

True. The Azure with english patch available now is nowhere near geofront's Zero. Turbo is a definite need.
@@21stCenturyBoy- To be fair, you can add turbo mode and a ton of improvements to Azure at this point that create a very Geofront-like experience. The translation for the fixed flame edit is actually really good too, and the voice acting issues have all been fixed.
