    Hi! Thanks for the information! I was finally able to get my hands on a 2720 as most other machine options are and have been out of stock for months near me. I was planning to convert to sublimation, but now seeing your video I am wondering can I convert this to DTF.. can you make a video on how to convert a machine or where to get the items needed for conversion? TIA

    • @Lumedia
      @Lumedia  Před 3 lety +1

      Hey holly! “Technically” you could run dtf inks in that printer. But you only have cmyk and no extra color channels. For dtf you need a minimum of 5 channels cmyk+w(white). And you would still need to find a RIP software that would run it. So to answer your question you could but could only print on light garments. Which defeats the purpose of dtf really. I would highly advise to stay the course and convert for sublimation. You can do much more with that route.

    • @Lumedia
      @Lumedia  Před 2 lety

      something like this bigger machine yes. a smaller l1800 or 3880 will be a bit less daunting. not a lot of maintenance you just have to do it everyday pretty much. but honestly it is worth it.

      @Lumedia  Před 2 lety +2

      congrats on wanting to start a business for yourself! In all honesty if its a new process for you guys and you want your best bang for your buck. I would go the sublimation route! I have a few videos talking about the process. That will give you the most flexibility if your trying to do custom items for customers. If you are trying to start a clothing line. Then I suggest buying a heat press and premade transfers. best way to go about it. Hope this helps point you in the right direction!

    Good evening, I am thinking of going into dtf printing and since I can't afford to buy the dtf printer in the market I am now considering modifying one of the Epson printers. Initially Epson L805 was my focus being cheaper but I got to know about Epson XP 15000 which is A3 and almost the same price with the L805 but I also discovered that it doesn't work with acrorip software, and requires a very expensive software and CISS. Also from my online research people are not giving palatable reviews about it. Please if you know about the XP 15000 how can I go about it without itch from conversion to rip installation and successful printing. Kindly help. Thanks

      The issue you’re having is nothing to do with your printer head. The issue is your registration sensor not seeing the see through film of what I said doesn’t work try adding just a tiny bit of tape at the beginning of the sheet so that it registers the sheet.

    • @Lumedia
      @Lumedia  Před 3 lety +1

      Unfortunately all DTF printers require about the same amount of maintenance. I have a video I’m uploading this week talking about the subject. You don’t need to take apart the smaller ones for cleaning them. You only need to do that if your printhead clogs. While it’s less likely to happen in a commercial grade printer it can still happen.
