    It's refreshing to see someone admit they're wrong when they are! I just hopes this stops people from saying you're a PSA hater. Sakute to your honesty

    Crack it and gently use painter's tape along the edges... boom 10

    A card is cardboard, fraying, dab slight amount of moisture will take care of any dry edging. It'll tighten it up by rehydrating it.

    I appreciate your honesty. I like PSA more for dual graded slabs for autos. I like SGC more for vintage, like you said they go for overall eye appeal. I like BGS more for thick cards, patch cards, RPA’s etc. thank you for your content sir.

    I've been waiting for this one. I have a bonkers PSA story about 2 PSA 6s. You'd appreciate the strange right turn it took and what happened.

    This problem seems to be across the board to be honest. I've graded complete team sets recently from Mosaic thru SGC to be transparent here (Prizm White /25, Tessellation /15 to be specific). White came back 9.5/10s then came the Tessellation set and I'm going thru my submission for that its 9.5/10s as well until I got to the last card in the team set and it's a 7. I cannot find more than 1 flaw to knock it down a grade max, now I sit here with no loss other than the $15 fee to crack it look it over and resubmit and see if I just got a grumpy grader that wanted to go home for the day. Appreciate the content RHC thank you.

    Omar - respect to you for digging into this and showing the "truth" even if counter to your original conviction on the card. I am in just the opposite situation. I have been reholdering cards to CGC for my PC. One PSA 10 I sent to CGC came back in the PSA slab with a label from CGC taped to it. It indicated "MG" 'Below Min Grade'. They also provided a CGC note showing two areas they found with a loop looking at the slabbed card. There is a clear print line/scratch about 1.5 inches long on the front surface of the card and back top left corner has visible wear. No comment on PSA grading, but hats off to CGC to have the integrity not to cross at the 10 PSA gave it. Photos available...

    6 is where the dart landed at PSA HQ that morning.

  • @mjcollectioncards7524
    @mjcollectioncards7524 Před 5 měsíci +2

    PSA does this because its orders are maintained or increased. They give you a PSA 6 grade and what do the majority do? They break the slab and send it again, and pay again for the service For the same card. That's more money for PSA per service, and next time you may get PSA 9 or PSA 10 put some chocolates in the box lol.

      I just buy good looking PSA 6's, crack them out, resubmit and usually get PSA 9's and 10's. It's a no brainer to buy good looking PSA 6's

      @@marman51212 100%. It's a waste of time submitting to PSA. You never get back the grades you expect, whereas BGS always give you a fair grade.

    If you have to use a magnifying glass to see the issue...it should be higher than a 6

  • @corymcewen5943
    @corymcewen5943 Před 24 dny

    PSA and all grading companies are I wouldn't say a joke but they are, being that thousands of employees are handling millions of submissions. It's a human element which makes having a fair grade a coin flip, especially if wanting a 10 gem mint card for sure. NO ONE PERSON will grade a card the same which is again, gambling at it's finest.

    While what you are saying is alot of truth and facts, PSA's goal is to not give a 10 to any card and then justify it to QA. If they don't have a valid excuse, then you'll get a 10. Alot of cards i get graded are for my personal collection and they are either low numbered cards or a rare card, or older. I don't have an option to look over the cards and if not a 10 candidate, look at the next exact card. So i send whatever i have and hope for good grades. I do grade with both PSA and SGC, and just never really trust what I'll get from PSA. Sometimes no rhyme or reason to grades you get, but they are still viewed highly in the hobby and I'll continue to deal with their shenanigans.

    THEY TAKE ABSOLUTELY NO RESPONSIBILITY FOR THEIR GRADERS OR GRADES, AND OFFER NO EXPLANATION AS TO WHY A CARD ISN'T A TEN.

    • @RetroHoopCollectibles
      @RetroHoopCollectibles  Před 5 měsíci

      I really think I did jokes aside. They will categorize your card very directly IMO. If a 6 description includes a fray and you have a small fray then guess what you’re getting?!? It kinda sucks too because things like that can happen from the factory and often times can’t be seen with the naked eye.

    Omar - its magic and only wizards understand. Why are you trying to use logic and science for the human world when discussing the magic and wonder of grading.
    There are no standards. No requirements. No rules. You can crack the magic case and send it back to the wizards.
    11:57 you are making assumptions here. You don’t work for nor were you a grader. Stop! 🛑 think. Listen to what you are saying.
