Rich Vos is in the studio and they talk about Open Water and Cab Driver, vacation, and "peeping tom" stories, but the bit that stands out the most is the murder of this woman: en.wikipedia.o...
I remember hearing about it and being very upset, especially since the motive was that the girlfriend was "annoyed" by their targets being cheerful and laughing. If it's any consolation, the muggers didn't get away with it, but I can see why people were a bit upset at the GF getting only three years. I know I was pretty pissed and am actually pretty angry at being reminded of it.
Beyond that, yea, I can understand the annoyance at hipsters building "trendy" nonsense so close to crime ridden areas. Not a smart move and I can understand the outrage at such criminals. Oh, and poverty/abuse/whatever has nothing to do with this crime in particular. Even if the muggers were like that, it would only explain their behavior, not justify it. BTW, the shooter was described as "cold and hateful". Yea, I can understand why the guys were so upset.
